This is one of the few stores around for miles. As a teen Id walk here then back to my house so I…read morecould smoke cigarettes. It was about a mile both ways. Now it's a little escape from the family reunion we were attending. It's in the middle of nowhere so you occasionally get to see grazing elk and antelope. We came down for snacks and ice on a few occasions. The gas pumps are really old. They are working relics practically. They don't sell lotto tickets. You have to go down to Stanford's for those. The clientele are nice. This is one of those places were the locals hang. Not all of them but a few. It used to be closed on Sundays because Mormons owned it. I believe it's open on Sundays now. Probably because the main road is busier. It's a really interesting place to see. It's a living breathing antique with that real small town feel.

I didn't have a clue where it was so I stopped at the Midway Station to ask for directions. When I walked in, there was an ol' Cowboy behind the counter, his name was Don Goodman, him and his wife Evelyn owned the Midway and had for at least 30 years. Well when I mentioned I was trying to find Timber Knoll, he knew who I was and said they all had been waiting for me to get there...lol After about ten minutes, it was like I had known them for years. Several years later, I moved closer to Show Low, Don and Evelyn sold the Store (which then was also the Post Office) and ended up buying the house I lived in, in Timber Knoll. They were super people, Don got me into roping and did a few cattle drives with him and Carlos who was the foreman at Timberline Ranch. One thing that I always laughed at was when you walked in the door, on the left sitting on the floor in a flower pot, next to the Ice Cream freezer was a peyote plant with a LARGE button... No one ever said anything about it.. about a year or so later the button was gone and Don said " the other day some hippy looking people came in and after they left, he noticed it was gone"... he said they must of been from Phoenix..... LOL

I don't know the guy in the previous review but I've gotten nothing but wonderful service here. In…read morefact, the cashier girl today asked me if she could help me to my car since I'm a disabled veteran with a cane, an oxygen backpack and I was going to be carrying two bags. I told her I could manage since she had other customers to help and she said we take care of our veterans here. I just thought that was nice. I wish I had gotten her name for the review but she was a lovely young Spanish girl with tattoo sleeves on her arms who was working around 3 PM, March 17, 2021. So if anyone knows her tell her this veteran says Thank You for Your Service as well. And to Lori C. Who used her review to tell everyone she's 50 and got carded by the store manager Mike like she was offended, please, girl, you know you loved it. And in addition, you know damn well that the store manager Mike (who I'm 100% sure you're referring to) doesn't even make the rules himself. Circle K is a large company snd every employee in it from the top to bottom actually answers too the district manager Dan Metcalf in Show Low, who answers to corporate in Phoenix or Tempe. I worked for them for 7 years as well as other retailers and one thing is constant in all these jobs, your boss isn't from here, they come from somewhere

First he throws my receipt in the trash without asking if I want it then when I ask him that I want it he digs it OUT of the trash can and hands it to me. I said 'can I have a new one' then he gives more attitude and then I say we need cash back in quarters and he gives MORE attitude like I'm making him work SO hard. I told my boyfriend I have to walk away and then he gives my boyfriend attitude asking him if he needs a 'receipt too' all rudely. I am so sick of crappy cashiers. You don't get to treat a customer this way!
