Cool concept just a bit outdated. The place reminded me of diversions game room. It has a bunch of arcade games and game counsels such as Nintendo/Xbox. We ordered a combo meal deal they had on the menu. It came with a large pizza, cheese sticks, fries/onion rings and 15 wings. The pizza and wings were better than we expected. The wings were just the right amount of crisp and very flavorful. Props to our server. He did great given that our party was large and assisted us mostly himself. We came for their $10 all-day play in their arcade - we did not try the food. Parking was easy to find right up front, and we were greeted and given wristbands. Strangely enough, the wristbands said Sunday when we were playing on a Monday. My husband was already pretty familiar with most of the arcade games, but my favorites were Astroid and Crazy Taxi. There are lots of collaboration games, probably more than single-player games, which is great. Yes, the games are pretty grimy and germy, but we washed our hands before we left. Bathroom was super nice. They also have some regular consoles, like PlayStation 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox, etc. On the PS5 we played Fall Guys, which was silly and fun. I also enjoyed their rhythm arcade game, but it was all in Japanese, no English. I would definitely come back in the middle of the day while the kiddos are still in school. We played for about 2 hours, 3-5 pm, and before we left some loud kids came in to play Xbox; the parents didn't care how wreckless they were, throwing around controllers, and the staff did nothing either. They make their own pizza dough, so they say but it didn't taste very good and reminded me of the elementary school square pizzas. The wing sauce was good but I prefer boneless which wasnt an option. They serve RC cola products, and their unsweetened tea is the sweetest "unsweet" tea I've ever tasted, the waitress stated shes heard that a lot. First off when we walked in it took the server 5 mins to even come over to ask us for drinks while they were sitting at the counter when we walked in. 2nd off we got our drinks and the apps came out within minutes... kinda weird ok... decided to dig in.. they ended up being cold... how is fried food cold??? Then they took them back reheated them and brought the same ones out. 3rd our pizza was uncooked and doughy... 4th 1/4 of the games are not in working order... the joysticks are alll abused and don't work correctly... and 5th when asked to take the cowboy bites of the bill he said he really couldn't cause they reheated them and brought them back out... sorry but this was one of the worst all around restaurant I've been to in a long time... caught our server eating food multiple times in between bring our food out and drinks!!! read more

First I wanted to give this place a great review because my kids were so excited to go but we were disappointed with the food and service! I don't think I've ever seen so much flies INSIDE a closed environment to eat!! food was so greasy and one of my chicken wings was raw. when I asked to get another one they were so rude about it. My husband and I decided to try a new place in The Highlands. We were originally going somewhere else but spotted Blackdog Pizza. We ordered the honey bbq wings and the hand-tossed supreme pizza. The wings were hot from the hopper and crispy yet tender inside. The bbq sauce was very complimentary to their ranch dressing. The supreme pizzas was so fresh and the dough was soft as pillows!!! I've visited Black Dog twice, the second time was 2 months later and with a free pass (or else most likely wouldn't have returned). Their food is good for what it is. Being an arcade, the games are meant to be the big draw. The selection of cabinets is on the small side, which could be excused if it felt like the games were being maintained. Many (probably close to half) of the cabinets have faulty joysticks, buttons that don't work, light guns that aren't calibrated, and at least 2 games that are totally out of order. None of the issues from my first visit had been fixed on my second, and their cabinet for Afterburner Climax had gone from a broken joystick button to a non-working cabinet. I would be happy to return if the game inventory could be fixed and/or updated, as the place is closer to home, doesn't draw the crowds of places like Cidercade and Freeplay, and has ample parking. read more

Just visited today with my girlfriend and we both enjoyed our experience here! Liked the concept of 10$ admission for unlimited games, wish more places did this. A lot of classic arcade games available alongside with some modern consoles I didn't really play. Had Guitar Hero, Galaga, Crazy Taxi, Street Fighter, DDR, and Pac-Man to name a few. Will definitely be coming back; think it's a cool place to bring kids too (though they may prefer more modern games, just depends on them). It's nice being able to finally beat those arcade games that generally empty out your wallet trying to finish since you die so easily (Time Crisis). Also had two pizzas - meat lovers and supreme equivalent but with arcade names. They had some board games available as well if you wanted to take a break from the arcade. All in all a cool place and wish it had more people visiting it as it didn't have a ton of people there. Note that I believe you do have to pay for admission even if you don't want to play games and just want to eat/drink. After a little hiatus I've tried the pizza again! They actually came up to my job and passed out free samples and coupons. They now make most of the dressings in house and let me tell you (you guys know I love ranch!) Its famazing! I just wanna drink it. I don't even like bleu cheese dressing but the chef Ted makes an amazingly smooth version that is absolutely jammin. The traditional is very new yorky- with the chewy inside and perfectly crusty bottom. They import the yeast from Italy and the cheese is legit buffalo mozzarella. Black Dog Pizza just opened in the Arlington Highlands complex. I was on my way to a good but not exciting meal at Black Eyed Pea's newest location and saw the grand opening banner. I changed my mind. Bottom line: the pizza is delicious. They have all the styles you'd expect - regular and thin, and a plethora of ingredients to choose from. They've also got some other options like BBQ chicken pizza and it was truly fantastic. The chef came out to see how I liked it and we talked pizza for awhile. They make the dough on the spot using a sourdough blend. It crispy, light, and wonderfully delicious. There's quite a few other menu options as well like baked meatball subs and wings and a brownie sundae or NY style cheesecake for dessert. I sat at the expansive full bar. Beer on tap included Dos Equis, Guiness, Miller light, and heineken. There were at least half a dozen huge TVs going and a sound system you could host a rock concert with. You can see it to the right of the front door. The place was quiet when I was there but I could tell it had the potential for a hell of a party atmosphere. I will be back. read more

Ehh, this place is alright. Maybe it's my bias against pizza, but I just don't feel there's anything special here that would draw me back. I can honestly get better pizza at Mr. Jim's. We came here for a reunion of about 15-20 guys, and they were pretty accommodating. It's connected to the comedy show next door, so don't be surprised if all the other doors are locked. Just enter through there. The place itself is dark with dim lighting. No one was there when we were. Not a single soul. Well, besides the workers of course. Anyways, we got 2 large pepperonis and a meat lovers. Like I said before, nothing really special. The pizza was actually pretty greasy...I had one piece of each and was done. I also ordered a cranberry vodka, which tasted really watered down. The saving grace was the cheese bread we had before the pizza. Black Dog is pretty good but I wouldnt really call it a pizza place, honestly. I mean, they have pizza...but it's pretty standard stuff and every other section of the menu has as many or more choices. I will say that the prices were very reasonable. A pretty fricking big veggie was like $15. Not super duper cheap, but not too painful. Large salads $8ish or + a few bucks to add chicken. Sammiches and burgers with fries for about the same. Really tasty toasted raviolis on the appetizer menu are fully worth the $7 or so. So you see where the price point lands. Service was very earnest and friendly. Maybe a few too many 'darlin's from a kid young enough to be my kid and who didn't appear to speak any other Southern ...but he was trying hard, and that always counts in my book. I think its strength is probably as a pretty good sports bar, to tell the truth. Yikes, that is a LOT of screens! The decor is the Highlands' special brand of swanky yet casual, with a large full bar toward the middle of the room. There appears to be a patio area off to the side (the comedy club side - maybe it's theirs?) ...but the night I visited it was COLD, yo. I was not about to investigate. So, the bottom line is that while the pizza was good because it was, you know, PIZZA, you may find that to be secondary to just watching the (insert seasonable sport here) game and putting something reasonably tasty in your mouth for a reasonable price while doing so. He ordered a beer, I got my margarita... Let me just say that it was SO WEAK I felt like I was drinking store bought On the Border margarita mix... His beer was short and defiantly not worth the price. The bartender didn't greet, talk or seem enthused to be at work. Instead he sat on the side and ate a sandwich.. To test the waters, we started out with an order of chips and salsa and queso. $6? Not bad. Unfortunately, the queso fell flat, boasting that odd film. Note to queso prep-cooks: maybe just give a little stir before ladling into the bowl. I know queso is notorious for developing the "skin", but you can avoid the customers seeing this. Nonetheless, the queso tasted just like velveeta. The salsa likely came out of a jar. First disappointment. The Caesar salad actually brought up our spirits, what with the crisp lettuce, somewhat real Parmesan shreds (as long as it is not Kraft!), and lack of wilting, aged romaine leaves. Pizza rounded out our meal, and the 16 incher surprisingly won us over. The mildly thin crust hung on by a thread, yielding to the the smattering of ingredients found on our "Supreme" pie. The distribution of toppings afforded the spherical dish a good flavor balance. Honestly, I am reading too much into this rather simple pizza, but it satisfied us for $15. BDP does not lack in anything, providing pies, subs, and salads alongside adequate booze.
