Our experience with Cascadia Solar was very positive from beginning to end. Our initial contact was…read morewith Dave Campbell, who took some information over the phone and then came to our house for a preliminary meeting and inspection, during which he reviewed our current electrical usage, the siting and suitability of our house for solar, and our current wiring and metering system. Dave was very pleasant to work with. He was able to answer all our questions and was very knowledgeable about the available federal tax credits and state and local incentives for which we might be eligible. He then created a detailed preliminary design and proposal which he came to the house to discuss with us. We were able to confirm the economic analysis and its conservative assumptions There was some question as to whether we would be able to qualify for the incentive program with the Jefferson County Public Utility District, since that program was approaching its cut-off cap. We really appreciated how Dave was up front and honest about this, not promising anything he didn't think we could count on (although we are still hoping to be qualified for the incentive--we should know soon!). The system should pay for itself even without the state incentive, so we decided to proceed. The final contract was lower than the initial proposal. John and Peyton, who installed our system, were very pleasant, considerate, and efficient (and extremely sweet to our rather noisy little dog). They arrived and finished the job ahead of schedule. After the system was installed, Cascadia Solar arranged for all the follow-up inspections and for Jefferson PUD to install the new meters and replace the old transformer, all of which took place very quickly. Cascadia Solar handled all the paperwork, sending us anything we needed to complete by email so we could scan and return it. Then Dave came out to the house to show us how to use the Internet program that allows us to monitor the output of our system on a daily and long-term basis, as well as to check how each individual solar panel is functioning. In conclusion, if you are considering installing solar on your house or business, we would highly recommend Cascadia Solar.

As with the initial installation, this experience was professional from the beginning to the installation. Clear instructions, documents, and continuing updates! The installation was completed with an emphasis on safety and quality, and the solar gain has been exactly what was projected! Garth M.

My partner and I had been considering solar for a while. I did a lot of research into several…read moredifferent companies and decided to go with Power Trip for several reasons. For starters, they actually came out and looked at the property, rather than just using a computer generated model. Further, they answered all my questions promptly and were honest and fair in their quotes. The system has been stellar since we had it installed in August 2022. Now that we're considering an extension to our array, we'll definitely be going with Power Trip again.

The longer version -- I had wanted to have solar for over a decade, but kept putting things off. After I contacted NW Wind and Solar they were excellent at explaining the process, talking me through any concerns I had and how the whole process goes down. They were easy to contact, easy to work with, they have multiple people who are highly knowledgeable about every aspect of the installation and stayed in touch with me after the installation to help me with getting set up with Seattle City Light. (As an aside, Seattle City Light is not easy to work with, but NW Wind and Solar did the majority of the leg work with them as well). Bottom line -- the money I spent for a solar system is the best money I have ever spent and I am really proud to be carbon free in terms of all of our electricity usage, heating and cooling. It was a hefty up front cost, but my bi-monthly electricity bill is now zero (ok, its $10 since Seattle City Light has a "service fee" they charge if you have a bill of zero) and I am going to get a large tax credit. Based on the first 6 months of costs, I will break even in 7 years and then after that it's all money in the bank. I love this company, I love my solar system and I hope you will hire this great group of people.

We were told by the installation manager, Dickson, that the city would replace our existing meter for a two way meter within maximum 3 months. This seems mostly the fault of Seattle City Light, with whom it seems nearly impossible to communicate. Without the two way meter, I'm still paying for electricity even though I have a functioning solar panel system on my roof - 8 months after the installation was complete. NW Wind & Solar gets a 1 star review because they haven't returned phone calls or email since the install was complete and are doing a terrible job advocating for their customer (me) with Seattle City Light. The receptionist I spoke with said they had re-organized but still no response from them. The previous reviews on Yelp were initially reassuring but something has changed at this company and I cannot recommend them at all.
