There is so much to buy but it also feels like a tiny museum. Every nook and cranny is fun. Service is always quick with kind staff. The coffee and beverages are excellent. I find the food to be average. The menu is pretty limited - mostly omelettes, hash brown plates, sandwiches, soups, salads. The amount of vegan and vegetarian options are cool. I love the lemon blueberry pancakes. I think they could do so much more with their menu - the food sort of seems like an afterthought here. I think if their current menu was in a "standard" diner, I don't think the doors would stay open, but the added benefit of the coffees/pastries, the vegetarian options, and the eccentric experience, I think L.A. Cafe is here to stay. Will give more stars in the future if their menu options develop and grow!

She knew it because it has an extensive vegan menu on top of the regular one. Once I entered, it all made sense. It's pretty different. I would describe it as part restaurant and part, eclectic, retro, sassy gift/collectibles store. There is clutter, decor, and stuff to buy everywhere you look. Most of it has funny expressions, for example, socks/totes/pillows with quotes. And there's a lot of retro like toys/"stuff" for example mini Rubik's cubes, flower sunglasses, balloon dog keychains, and so much more. You kinda have to see it to totally get the gist, so I'll include a few pictures. As far as the food, we all enjoyed ours. I ordered the lemon blueberry pancakes, which were filled with tons of blueberries and had a nice light lemon taste. They were quite fluffy and enjoyable. I don't know what all of my friends ordered, but they were happy too. I would definitely consider coming back. It wouldn't be a regular spot, but it's entertaining enough that I might stop in with someone who's never been.

You can tell this is truly a family operation. There is such attentive and impeccable service here. Every time I've been, I've felt genuinely welcomed and taken care of. The food is absolutely outstanding. I've been back multiple times now, and my favorite is the spiced pork wontons with noodles. The wontons are crispy and juicy on the inside, and the noodles soak up all the spicy oil flavor. This is the kind of dish I find myself thinking about later. The mango crispy chicken is another must-order. Crispy chicken with that sweet mango flavor sounds simple enough, but it just works. It has a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, my favorite combination. Oakland Tea House is exactly the kind of small, family-run restaurant I love finding. Great food is one thing, but great food combined with genuine hospitality is what makes a place memorable. I will always find my way back to this place; highly recommend.

The first time my wife and I stopped by it was closed (Monday and Tuesday) If you enjoy authentic Asian cuisine I highly recommend you give this place a try. The owner ( Vingy for short) greeted my wife and I and helped us choose menu items based on what we liked, etc. We were one of two parties in the very small dining room ( eight tables) when we arrived and by the time we ate our dinner there were no tables available. We started with pork dumplings and cucumber salad as our appetizers. The salad was the freshest I've had anywhere. Bright, delicious but not overpowering. The dumplings were tasty and perfect in the two dipping sauces that accompanied these tasty morsels. I ordered the Dan-Dan noodles while my wife ordered one of the crispy chicken dishes (garlic). My noodle dish was filled with handmade noodles, braised pork and fresh aromatic vegetables. I could have licked the bowl it was that good. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her chicken entree as well. We ordered a pot of oolong tea that became more tasty as we let it steep at our table. This is the most authentic Asian food I've ever had hands down. Needless to say, we will be back to sample the other items on the menu.

tl;dr a fantastic little cafe serving really delicious crepes with super friendly service…read more Ambiance (5/5): I came to the cafe on a Friday morning to have a little breakfast and do a little computer work, so the cafe was fairly quiet with French music playing at a medium volume (you're aware of it but you won't need to talk too loudly to converse). As super lovely and relaxing vibe. They have a counter that says "Order Here" but there was one other table who ordered at their table and received the check at the end of their meal like regular table service. They offer a guest WiFi network, but definitely would not recommend taking any meetings or calls from this space; it's definitely not that kind of cafe! Food (5/5): I ordered the French Classic, which is egg, cheddar, and ham. It was SO delicious and generously portioned. I honestly didn't expect to feel so full, especially since this crepe wasn't as filled as some of the other ones on the menu, but wow! The crepe itself has a very lovely flavor and well complimented by the thin layer of egg inside. (Sidenote: I've gone back another time since I started writing this review, this time trying the 9am and the Lean Machine crepes. Both tasty and generous with the fillings, but I think the French Classic is still my favorite among the three. You get to taste the crepe itself more, and it's really good!) Service (5/5): I had very obviously portioned off and set aside half the crepe to take home and the staff very skillfully clocked it and handed me a box for it without me even asking. Everyone there is so friendly and attentive, and it really makes me want to keep coming back (and I will!).

I didn't look at any photos and just put it into my GPS, so I was surprised when I got there and realized that it seemed to be a food truck with an extra trailer behind it. Other than that, it was a cute setup with plenty of outdoor seating, lots of flowers, mini Eiffel towers on the tables, and even a kids' play area that my twins took advantage of. While we were waiting in line, the lady working the register showed the people in front of us all of the baked goods they had for sale, including all of the croissants and puff pastries. When it was our turn at the window, both my wife and I ordered cold coffees with brown sugar. I also chose a key lime puff pastry while my wife went with a pain au chocolat. I first started with my key lime puff pastry, which I found to be quite good. The puff pastry definitely had good lamination, while the key lime was sharp, and I appreciated the coconut on top. After that I tried my coffee, and while it wasn't what I was expecting, it was delicious. The coffee itself had a creaminess to it, while the brown sugar tasted almost like caramel. While the coffee flavor itself was a bit lost in this combination, I didn't mind at all and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife also enjoyed her coffee and saved her chocolate croissant for later. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Both of the items I had here were delicious, and I would love to try more of their menu, especially some of their crepes.

Took me about 20 minutes to get here and it was definitely worth it. This is a quiet and quaint shop. It's a one stop shop I say. You get all three in one. You get your food and dessert of your choice. And the amazing staff (and owner I believe) are there to help. Did you know this place was named after their cute dog? We ordered the bowl which was pretty good. They have so many toppings to choose from in your bowl it wasn't disappointing at all. My only complaint is the chicken thigh (chipotle flavor I think) needed a little more seasoning to it. It was kind of bland, but nothing horrible. I forgot the best part. They make the chips fresh in front of you and it comes free with your meal!! The other places would never. The burger was good. It is seasoned with taco seasoning it seems and it does taste pretty good. It's a thick patty too and the meat is fresh. It's not a pre-shaped patty which I love. You get fries with this that are all made fresh. We did not get to try the boba or froyo but we will next time. They have a loyalty points program which everyone loved those. We signed up because we know we will be back. Last but not least, the beautiful view in the back.
