So far we've stayed in the Peacock, Teal, Latte and French Country rooms. Once, we came with my parents , and we shared the Lyon House across the street. Each time, we have loved our visit. The hospitality is fantastic-I always feel like I'm staying with a great aunt that loves to take care of her family. Really, it's that good. We have done the Dine and Unwind package, which includes a delicious dinner and a couples' massage. Best experience ever! If you're looking for a special getaway, be sure to consider this. The property itself has a lot of history-be sure to save some time to talk to Craig and Vicky about it's past. If you're looking to host an event, the upstairs area is perfect for that too!

One of the best decisions I've made in a long time. It's set in an old church that's been renovated to have five rooms in the lower level, and we stayed in the King room. The first thing they said when we walked in was feel free to explore and make yourselves at home which we totally did. Vicki and her husband Craig were great and they took care of us even making us a nice breakfast in the morning before we headed out. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Everything was comfortable and well detailed. Having just been reopened for under a year, it was impressive how much thought and care has been put into the hotel and museum. I think more good things are coming and I look forward to visiting again next summer. The only downside I experienced was completely out of control of the hotel management. To echo another reviewer, the train can be loud during the night, but I think once you expect it, it won't be a problem. Plus, it's a total charmer during the day!

It currently isn't on any travel website! The new operator Terah is gracious, kind and totally accommodating. If you're into hitting the best historic hotels this country has to offer don't miss this one! Often, when staying at historic hotels you sacrifice comfort. Not here! The beds were wonderful and sheets luxury! There are several options for just sitting and relaxing in various books and crannies. Roam the halls and peak into the many rooms which serve as the local museum. Breakfast is served fresh made by Terah. You do need to be aware that this is directly next to the train track and the train does run in the night. It will wake you up but it was worth it to all of us. Also be aware there are two flights of stairs to negotiate to get to your room with your luggage. Rumor has it there is a ghost or two!

We arrived and it wasn't busy so I was grateful because it was late. The location is clean and welcoming on the outside. There was construction but we could still pull in ok. We were greeted warmly and given a room on the first floor. The location had a gym and pool I think and free breakfast. The breakfast is basic... sausage gravy and biscuits, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs and waffles etc. I liked the little milk containers and orange juice boxes. They reminded me of elementary school. The room was very nice. Microwave, fridge and personal coffee maker. Safe in the room was a nice touch. Good bath products. The water pressure was great and I have long hair so that's welcome. The water gets really hot if you like that. The bed is very very comfortable and i slept wonderfully. Definitely a place I'd stay again if I were ever here again.

The tour of the room by Autumn was awesome and added to the overall experience. The furniture, decorations and draperies were all spot on. The attention to detail like the rose on the mantel (from the Phantom, from anyone who hasn't seen Phantom of the Opera) the pitcher of ice water, a box fan tucked away in the corner, the Phantom of the Opera music playing, and DVD for viewing were all over the top details that made this stay worth every penny. The bed was great, as were the sheets and bedding. Then to plug devices in to charge there is a charging station next to the bed with I think 4 USB and 4 A/C plug ins to utilize. You can tell right away that these people care about their customers and do their best to make them happy. Then, the next day was a very nice breakfast consisting of bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, fresh cut fruit and creamy dipping sauce for the fruit, plus orange juice and hot chocolate (since we aren't coffee drinkers). The room(#7) was the perfect touch of warmth and cozy feeling we needed after such a long drive. There is a pretty big mini fridge and microwave in the room. The TV is a smart TV and has dish network with several channel options. The room was very clean and decorated with cute alpaca pictures and alpaca rugs. The bathroom has a full size tub, full size 32 oz tresemme shampoo/conditioner, small hair dryer, full size pump of hand soap and lotion (see pic). Just a little off the Main Street but still close enough to restaurants and bars. Close enough to walk to. Which was really nice and convenient when you're driving a big truck and you don't feel like pulling in and out of the crowded areas. Plus for us, on that part haha. The room is spacey and barn house feel but really cozy and warm. The ceilings are high so we didn't feel like we were crushed in a small room. The bathroom was spacious and I love that they advertise items for sale inside the room. The bed was comfy but I ended up on the couch lol because my son fell asleep in my spot on the bed next to my husband. We didn't even stay up for the count down. I did hear the fire works while I was dozing off into sleep. It was nice a quiet. The host was really cool and friendly. Got me checked in quickly and smoothly. Check out was also quick. I liked that they had a card and keyless entry door. That solves card problems if it doesn't work and the host is out, yeah! Been there done that. Not having to worry about where the card is or where I put it saves me so much stress. Believe me, I'm so distracted with other things that I'll end up leaving my key cards in the room! Lol! Anyway, don't take my word for it, staying here is recommend. We'll definitely be back.
