The atmosphere is warm, lively, and full of character. Whether you're a local or just hopping off a heritage steam train, you're welcomed like an old friend. The interior is full of railway memorabilia, giving it a unique charm that's hard to replicate. The selection of real ales is fantastic--well-kept, perfectly poured, and often featuring local breweries. If you're into proper cask ale, this place is a gem. There's also a cozy beer garden where you can sit and watch the trains come and go--a real treat for train enthusiasts or anyone who enjoys a nostalgic backdrop. Service is friendly, fast, and unpretentious. It's clear the staff care about the place and the people who visit. Highly recommended as part of a day out in Bridgnorth, or even worth a special trip on its own. Classic British pub vibes done right

Lovely setting but disappointing experience…read more Having visited for drinks the previous day, we booked an outside table for 7.30 on 28th July. We arrived 10 mins early and were showed to our table. Drinks ordered we were asked twice in the next 30 seconds if we were ready to order, despite having no menus! Eventually we ordered and were asked to pay there and then, before any food had arrived! When questioned the young waitress said she had been trained to ask for this as we were outside. This made us feel like we were being judged to be likely to fo a runner.....58 and 59 year olds respectively!! Starters and mains came and went. To be fair thet were OK but the night had already been spoilt by the "Pay first" insult. Still waiting for the sweet menu. Shame really, could have been so much better for not a lot of effort or trust.

I'm so stuffed I had to unbutton me trousers lol I love Bridgenorth and this pub is typical of its style. Quite dark n dingey but in a very rustic, warm way. But back to the food. I had brandy pate starter and pork Sunday dinner style mains. Mouth watering pork just fell apart. So tasty! And finished off with a chocolate mousse with vanilla ice cream and an orange zest. Delicious. The service was excellent and the Irish waiter was funny & friendly. Really highly recommended!
