Ok, I like bread but I'm not a bread person. Meaning, if I'm in France then I'll eat some bread but if I'm buying a groceries it'll never make it into my cart. Rewind to this past weekend and I could've fooled you because I ate BBB twice, AND actually paid for an ENTIRE LOAF to take home. Yes, it was that good. BBB and the bar room are two small houses connected by a deck in a sorta strip mall area of Grayton Beach. But, like many of the newer businesses, it's straight out of a modern house decorators magazine. Simple black and white paint job, marble tables, lots of plants. The biscuits and pastries are to die for. There was nothing that I tried that I didn't like and if I had no self control I would've ordered everything to go (I did splurge on a $37 insulated mug, though). Plan on getting there early to order but don't worry about seating. You order at the counter and then pick a table. They usually free up quickly as there's no table service. absolutely everything from Black Bear is always a hit! the environment inside the cafe from the friendly baristas to the general coziness of the shop is so welcoming. the coffee is smooth and full of flavor, and the pastries are out of this world. you absolutely MUST get a warmed cinnamon roll to complete your trip to 30A-- all of the food (pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and breads) is top quality, filling, and enough to make anyone walk away happy. just a tip: get to the shop early enough because there's always a line out of the door, but it's well worth the wait! read more

This was a promising place based upon looks. Under the surface the people working here knew nothing about their menu and made multiple mistakes on what I would consider a simple order. I wanted ice water and was told that they could not give me ice for my drink. Our food order took forever and they finally told me that what I ordered could not be to go. I was surprised because I was eating in. Then we had to wait again for our food. Maybe it is hard to get help during COVID but this was ridiculous. Just wow! My husband and I came here for breakfast 4 DAYS IN A ROW because we liked it so much. We are not huge granola or yogurt fans but our favorite item was the House Granola. Super fresh and tasty! I also really enjoyed their bagels, fresh squeezed orange juice and Tan Line coffee. There was a line each time we visited but it never took more then 10-15 minutes to order. Me and my family will not be coming back to black bear. We used to go, even though the food is extremely overpriced, but we justified the cost since it is in a touristy area and we were on vacation. The new 15% gratuity to all orders is a turn off. Why would I be charged gratuity like this for a to go pastry or coffee????especially when a pastry I am buying is $8 already???my last visit there I waited 30 min for my $20 oatmeal and even when it came out it was not right. This is a cute little place with great coffee. The line moves fast. The Americano coffee is our favorite.

I spent the month of July in Rosemary Beach. This was my absolute favorite place to eat. I wish I had gone sooner because I would have been back often! It was totally worth the drive from Rosemary to Grayton. I had the Grains bowl as well as a biscuit with butter and home-made jam, they were DELICIOUS!! I was so surprised by the amazing combination of the egg, quinoa, greens, farro, pecans, etc. I also had the Tan Lines iced coffee and it was amazing as well. We waited in a long line, a little over 15 mins, but it was totally worth it. You could tell by the amount of people there willing to wait! I would recommend this place 100x over. I loved Black Bear! I went almost every day of my vacation. I got an Gibraltar- basically a double cortado. Great coffee, well poured! They had Topo Chico available for purchase. There is no better combo than espresso and a mineral water. The food is also great. They have several vegetarian options. I loved the croissant breakfast sandwich- fried egg, fresh greens, melted cheese. Amazing and simple! The wine selection in their bar area next door is FANTASTIC. The service was decent, and the bread and pickled veggies on my pork báhn mì was awesome, but that's about the only good thing I can say about my experience at black bear bread co. The pork on mine and my fiancé's sandwich was dry and really had no flavor at all which was disappointing considering you're paying 15 dollars for a sandwich with no sides or any extra sauce. Now for the coffee... it was not good. At all. The drip coffee tasted like it had been sitting for a few hours and the espresso in my latte was so under extracted that it tasted sour. I wish I lived on 30A just so I could visit this Cafe every day! My husband and I popped in after seeing that they served Stumptown Coffee (he used to live in Oregon). We ordered the Bagel & Lox and Egg and Bacon Biscuit with some coffee. Both items were absolutely fresh and delicious that we decided to come back the next day for breakfast again! On the next day, we got another biscuit, the avocado toast, a cinnamon brown sugar poptart & almond croissant for the road. I'm not sure if I've ever had better road trip food. The almond croissant was the best I have ever had! The service is great, the location is clean and beautiful, and the food is absolutely exceptional!
