Purchased a new dishwasher and the installers chipped the countertop when they removed the old dishwasher. They photographed the damage and told us to get it repaired and bill Bitter Neumann. Before repairing I consulted 3 repair people and got options. I called the salesperson who relayed the message to the manager and the manager has not responded. Bought a new refrigerator three years ago. On day one it froze every item in the freezer as well as the refrigerator compartment. Called service and they sent their repairman. The repair did not work. Cans broke and I had a mess on my hands. Repairman showed up again and installed a defective part. I contacted Dan, the business owner and stated I did not want the Frigidaire unit. He stated that I had to have it repaired and he would not replace it. Still did not work. He left me without a refrigerator over the Labor Day weekend, and it was not working for a total of 66 days! I again contacted Dan and he became irritated and stated that I am not to call him, and I am not allowed to come in the store! He added that he is done with me! I lost hundreds of dollars of food, but I guess Dan's problem was resolved. The unit remains problematic and has seen 10 service calls. Frigidaire was willing to replace the unit but Dan, emphatically stated "NO WAY". Now I know why their name is BITTER Neuman! read more

Again service department is horrible with customer service. I received a text yesterday say they would be there tomorrow (today) between 8-1. No one showed. I called and apparently I'm on the schedule for tomorrow. Not today even though I received the text and replied yes to it saying they would be here today. We bought a brand new washer and dryer from bitter Newman and neither one worked right from day one. Long story short they dicked us around since the very first day and wouldn't do anything about it. These are brand new appliances and shouldn't need repairs especially on the first day of use. They never gave us our paper work either and said they would mail it. I bought a range hood from them and it totally is falling apart. We wanted to buy a new filter and when we called the company they were asking $200 dollars for a filter. I called Bitter Neumann and they did not know what to say. The hood has little push items to set the fan they all fell off there is no way to push for the fan to function. I need a whole new hood. Either I get talked over while my husband gets all the questions (despite repeatedly deferring to me) or they're pushy to the point where they're making offers that make no sense while I'm trying to walk away. Thanks bitter Neumann for truly listening to the problems we had with our dishwasher. We live in the country, so we have well water with a softener. We have had 2 dishwashers before the frigidaire pro model we purchased at bitter Neumann and never had a problem. BUT this thing was nothing but problems... my dishes were never clean and you couldn't drink from the cups, they were gross. Many trips by repair man trying to figure out the problem. Bitter Neumann got Frigidaire to give us a new one calling it a lemon, only to have the new one do the same thing. More trips out by repair man and I stopped a few times to talk to the service department. But I have to say when they offered to let us pick a new one (of equal or lesser value) because clearly that model did not work for us and our home I was thrilled and impressed. We had our new Maytag for about a month and we love it! Thanks again! read more

Just had a great experience with Dan, who apparently owns the shop. I was in search of a good deal on a surround sound receiver, as mine had bit the dust recently. A buddy of mine works in the service department and said they might have something, so I stopped in this morning. I had been planning to spend $350 at best buy - I walked out of here spending $250. I also know from my parents' experience that the appliance delivery/pickup is good - also, they're tightwads, so if they buy their appliances there, the prices can't be awful. Can't comment personally as I rent a run-down apartment and therefore do not buy appliances or new furniture. read more

I am sorry I ever went to Bitter Neumann to buy a washing machine. Their was little to no customer service. The salesman was friendly when I purchased the washing machine and that is where any semblance of customer service ended. I told the salesman and the manager that I needed the washing machine as soon as possible as mine was broken. I asked specifically about supply chain issues and they both assured me the machine would be here in 2 weeks. 2 weeks came and went; no one from the store called me. I had to call them. Then I was told the machine would be here on June 21st, it did not come and again no one from the store called me. I had to call the store. Now they tell me it will be here on June 23rd. They assured me they would deliver the machine as soon as it came in. Now they tell me they can't deliver on June 24 and I will have to pay an additional $50 to have delivered on Saturday or I have to wait till Monday for delivery. Seriously, I have clothes that need to be washed, this is ridiculous. I do not think I should have to pay extra money when they failed to follow thru on their assurances. Also, I called the store 4 times in the last 3 days and asked to talk to the manager, who was conveniently out every time I called. I have used bitter Neumann multiple times I'm the past, purchasing mattresses, washers and kitchen appliances. All of this was at the Manitowoc store- Dennis was always professional and helpful. In fact, I particularly appreciate his advice regarding detergent use in a clothes washer. Nonetheless, problems do occasionally arise and I think this is where, "the rubber meets the road." I purchased an exhaust hood that did not fit in our kitchen. Dennis and the management/ownership were very helpful in the resolution of this problem. Our freezer went out while on vacation and we came home to a freezer that had partially thawed food. We purchased bags of ice and stuffed the freezer with ice to prevent the food from thawing further. The next morning we went to Bitter Neumann at 8 AM and asked if they could please deliver a new freezer ASAP so we could salvage the contents of our freezer. It was a Friday, and they had a full delivery schedule already booked for the day. They looked over the delivery schedule and loads agreed they would squeeze and add the new freezer to the last route delivery schedule. We were impressed that they had a freezer of the size we wanted and they squeezed it on a truck and delivered a few hours after we purchased it. They took the old freezer out and made sure the new freezer was leveled and running correctly. Great service. read more

We went to Lowes on a Monday to buy a washer and dryer and were told it would take a minimum of eight weeks to get, we then went to Bitter Neumann and they delivered it by Thursday that week. Called to get service on a fridge. Paid 200$ and the tech didn't even have the part needed even though we discussed on the phone. Still had problems. Called another repair place and they charged half the price, replaced the part bitter Numann had installed and everything's great. Also had problem with a recliner I purchased from them, it arrived damaged and took many phone calls to get laurel and hardy out to fix it. That fix took two visits. Thus place is a joke.
