This restaurant is inside this town that is built in fort style castle thing? idk how to explain,…read morebut driving in here is not an option, but, there are parking lots right outside of this town. The restaurant is near the entrance of the city a pretty short walk to be honest. They are inside a basement area, and they have no A/C as most places in the country so if you come in the summer it will be a little warm. The staff is k, not the friendliest however they speak some English. This place is CASH ONLY so make sure to have those euros with you when you come here, there are plenty of ATMs a short walk inside the town just in case you forgot money. ROTHEN-BURGER - I got this burger and I added an egg. the brioche bun is amazing and the way they cook the meat is perfect. this was a pretty nice burger and the size was amazing. the price is a bit on the expensive side but it was definitely worth it. CHILLI CHEESE FRIES - here is where I wanna justify my rating on this place, the burgers do not come with fries, and I am ok with that, however, I ordered the chilli cheese fries, all I got was a porting of fries with the smallest bowl with some cheese and one jalapeño slice in there. My problem was not the spice level, but the size of the serving of sauce, it was a 7 dollar cheese fries, and the dip was so small it did not even cover half of the fries, not even just dipping the fries, as fries with mayo and catchup and half the price and I would get 2 dips, given they were the same size of the cheese it would be still larger than the cheese serving. The worse part is that they charge for condiments so once I realised how small the cheese dip was, I would have to pay to get any other dip...... it was just a rip off Also they charge for water but that is a common practice in the state it seems. Overall the burgers are amazing and I would eat them again, but the fries are not a great idea just because of the condiment situation, in my opinion.

This was a great little spot near the famous plonlein area in the historic city center…read more The seating area was small but not overcrowded. The burgers were excellent in flavor and delivered quickly. We also had the onion rings which were very good as well. I would recommend this place as a change from the schnitzel and sausages throughout the other more traditional restaurants. There are also great little shops along this same road but the area can be overrun with tourists during the summer.

Arriving from Berlin, I was visiting Mannheim for the first time in years - and I was looking for a…read moregood burger. Well, I didn't find it here, I'm afraid. My first choice - a "protein, low carb" alternative to the classic burger - proved rather unpalatable: A poor excuse of a patty squeezed in between loads of iceberg lettuce, a bit of avocado and onion, some sauce. The patty - I'm sorry - tasted revoltingly of cheap beef. And wasn't properly prepared (i. e. fried at too low a temperature). I returned the offending dish - and was treated very professionally: My complaints were heard, no excuses were made, I was offered a different burger. Chicken this time. The second try - which turned out not be chicken, but more of a traditional cheeseburger with avocado - was better, alas, couldn't stand up to most burgers I had in my life. (A few, ahem.) Again, the lacklustre patty wasn't doing the trick. The accompanying sweet potato fries were Ok. As I mentioned before, the service was fine and friendly. The whole place is a self-service affair with a nice design. However, not accepting any credit cards is - in these days - an absolute no-go. I shall not return.

Any where on the East Coast, London, or Paris I grab a bacon burger at Five Guys! Been traveling through Germany for five years now and I am excited that the Frankfurt and Mannheim area now have a great burger option! The patties decently seasoned no crazy German all spice that you might find at the local Imbiss. The buns are toasted and buttered. The lettuce onions and tomatoes are fresh and tasty. The house sauce is not overwhelming. A great tasting burger and saves me from flying to CDG or LHR for a burger.
