We were able to make intelligent decisions to get the best possible care for Dusty within our financial situation. Granted if we could, all our furrkids would have unending vet care, but instead we provide good food- not the cheap Supermarket brands-and a safe, happy, playful home with lots of love! We were seen on time (by appointment) and the staff are very friendly and caring for my pet. We were told to pick her up around 1600-1630 unless they call. We showed up at 1620 and she was ready to go.. a little groggy still but she was excited to go home. They got us rang up and it was a lot cheaper than expected. They gave us a bag of meds and showed us the teeth that had been extracted. They also provided the new tag for her vaccinations. We have made appointments for our other pets and have stopped using the other vet in town. If we have an after hours emergency we will travel to Bakersfield. There is plenty of free parking in the large parking lot.

This caused us to pay additional fees to other vets, the lab and an animal transporter. Now we are being relocated back to the states and a "new" issue has arisen; the very unprofessional nurse hand wrote our microchip number incorrectly on the original rabies cert causing more work for us to get our service animal to move with us yet again. This is sloppy and disappointing. This vet office cannot be trusted with what seems to be the simplest of tasks.

I couldn't afford it and was so scared I'd have to get her put to sleep. Then I called Bishop Veterinary Hospital and was able to get a walk in appointment the very next day! The staff was so helpful and communicated very well, and even the veterinarian himself communicated directly with me about Gumdrop's treatment plan. Gumdrop needed to be spayed anyway, so the vet did not require me to get Gumdrop any diagnostic tests. We decided to just have her spayed without any tests. I paid under $500 for an emergency spay, antibiotics, the walk-in fee, and the post surgery pain medication. I am so grateful to Bishop Veterinary Hospital and can't recommend them enough!

This pet store definitely has the essentials of what you'd need but the only downside is there aren't too many options.

When I called back later, a different receptionist informed me that the clinic was not accepting new patients and that I would not be able to establish care there. When I explained that another staff member had literally begun the intake process and was preparing to collect payment for appointments, I was simply told, "I don't know, but we're not taking new patients." The complete lack of communication and consistency was incredibly frustrating. Based on the glowing reviews, I expected a much more professional and organized experience. While I cannot speak to the quality of the veterinary care itself, the customer service and handling of front-office communication left a very poor first impression.

When I took my beloved Aussie, Chloe, in to them today for her summer "haircut," I asked Sherry to check her paw, as Chloe had been limping lately. Sherry discovered there was nothing wrong with her paw but suspected from the difficulty Chloe demonstrated in getting up on the table that the problem lied in her hip. Sherry added she could tell from Chloe's behavior that she was also in pain. Sherry carefully adjusted Chloe's "beauty" treatments to ensure she could groom her without causing any pain. While she was busy doing that, I got on the phone with our vet and described Chloe's symptoms. He said he suspected the Pet Boutique was correct in their assessment, told me I was lucky to have taken Chloe to such observant and caring people, and advised me to bring Chloe in asap. I can't thank the Pet Boutique enough for their help, wisdom and advice. They attended to Chloe for 4-plus hours and she looked more beautiful, relaxed and happy than I'd see her look for months. They even insisted on lifting Chloe into the back seat of my car so she wouldn't have to jump up and hurt her hip. All this for the grand total of -- wait for it -- $31! Second session we needed Jazz to sit on his bed during breakfast & dinner. While his owner in a wheelchair enjoys his meals. Jay accomplished that in half the session. Third session was walking. Being able to keep Jazz on my side and from growling at other people or dogs. In one session Jay empowered me to lead Jazz. A big task for some of us women who struggle with being pack leaders. Jazz and I have been enjoying some lovely walks. Thank you Jay!!! Fourth session was calling Jazz in from backyard. Jazz did well with Jay. That is something I am sure I will master shortly! If not, I now have a dog expert to reach out to for help. Jazz was so excited to see Jay on a weekly basis. Jay was so loving and it made me realized I was not loving with Jazz. He is not my dog but my clients. However, I have started to love on him. This way he feels he belongs to someone and that he is loved. This poor dog came from the shelter during COVID. She never made us feel rushed and gave us all the time we needed to love on Ellie, say our goodbyes, and simply be with her. Dr. Martin explained everything with such kindness and made sure Ellie's final moments were peaceful and filled with dignity. As painful as that day was, there was something incredibly comforting about knowing Ellie was able to pass quietly in her own home, surrounded by love rather than fear or unfamiliar surroundings. We will forever be grateful to Dr. Martin for the compassion she showed not only to Ellie, but to our entire family.
