VCA Crestwood Animal Hospital

VCA Crestwood Animal Hospital

In Oct of 2025 in the afternoon one of my dogs started having severe stomach issues. I called VCA…read morean asked if I could bring her in and that I thought it was an emergency as the dog was shivering. They turned me down flat, even though I'd been a regular customer for years. I ended up taking my dog to Bishop, CA which is around 100 miles away. The vet there stayed late, did a thorough exam and gave a shot and meds. Subsequently I said, no more VCA. However the other day my wife made an appointment for nail clipping at VCA for both dogs and a sanitary trim of one of my dogs. When I arrived, I was informed they were understaffed and wouldn't do the sanitary trim. They then took each dog away for 10 minutes, brought them back and said they 'd clipped the nails. I then paid the bill of 76 dollars, got in my car and drove home. When there, I examined each dog. There was no evidence of anyone having clipped nails on either dog. At this point, I just don't feel I can trust VCA with the health and wellbeing of my dogs, and as a result, I'm not having anything to do with them.

He was asleep and they couldn't even shave him properly. I know they are not groomers, but I used to have my dog shaved every summer by the old Crestwood, so I just assumed... I won't be back; I'll drive to Palmdale rather than get charged more money for less of a job and have my dog injured.

My husband and I have been coming here for our dogs' needs and care for over 2 years now and I…read morehighly recommend them. They can get extremely busy and it has gotten a little more challenging to get an appointment but I always commend the level of care and customer service we get from this place. Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They are also really good at following up on upcoming appointments or vaccinations due to make sure your pets are up-to-date. If you are looking for a vet center, as much as I'd like to gatekeep them, this is the place to be. Highly recommend them!

Extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and consistency from the front office staff…read moreat Thurman Veterinary Clinic. I called around 8:30 a.m. this morning to establish care for my two French Bulldogs and was told that they were accepting new patients but it would be a month out. The receptionist began collecting my information to create patient charts, discussed scheduling appointments for June, and was in the process of preparing the required $40 per pet appointment hold fee when the call was disconnected. When I called back later, a different receptionist informed me that the clinic was not accepting new patients and that I would not be able to establish care there. When I explained that another staff member had literally begun the intake process and was preparing to collect payment for appointments, I was simply told, "I don't know, but we're not taking new patients." The complete lack of communication and consistency was incredibly frustrating. Based on the glowing reviews, I expected a much more professional and organized experience. While I cannot speak to the quality of the veterinary care itself, the customer service and handling of front-office communication left a very poor first impression.

Pet Boutique - Molly the poodle

I can't give Sherry and her incredibly loving staff at the Pet Boutique in Ridgecrest enough stars…read moreto justify their professionalism, kindness and amazing talent. When I took my beloved Aussie, Chloe, in to them today for her summer "haircut," I asked Sherry to check her paw, as Chloe had been limping lately. Sherry discovered there was nothing wrong with her paw but suspected from the difficulty Chloe demonstrated in getting up on the table that the problem lied in her hip. Sherry added she could tell from Chloe's behavior that she was also in pain. Sherry carefully adjusted Chloe's "beauty" treatments to ensure she could groom her without causing any pain. While she was busy doing that, I got on the phone with our vet and described Chloe's symptoms. He said he suspected the Pet Boutique was correct in their assessment, told me I was lucky to have taken Chloe to such observant and caring people, and advised me to bring Chloe in asap. I can't thank the Pet Boutique enough for their help, wisdom and advice. They attended to Chloe for 4-plus hours and she looked more beautiful, relaxed and happy than I'd see her look for months. They even insisted on lifting Chloe into the back seat of my car so she wouldn't have to jump up and hurt her hip. All this for the grand total of -- wait for it -- $31! You can't go wrong with these wonderful people. Look no further for 5-star pet grooming if you live in Ridgecrest. If you don't, trust me on this: The Pet Boutique is well worth the drive. And we did the homework. The homework was well worth it. Everything that he taught us to do helped our dogs get better at listening and behaving with one another. I was specific of all the areas of concerns with Jay during the evaluation. He recommended four sessions for Jazz. At first I thought no way will this Boxer be corrected with four sessions. To my surprise I quickly learned otherwise. First session Jay addressed the running out the front door when opened. Jazz immediately obeyed Jay and myself. So impressive! Second session we needed Jazz to sit on his bed during breakfast & dinner. While his owner in a wheelchair enjoys his meals. Jay accomplished that in half the session. Third session was walking. Being able to keep Jazz on my side and from growling at other people or dogs. In one session Jay empowered me to lead Jazz. A big task for some of us women who struggle with being pack leaders. Jazz and I have been enjoying some lovely walks. Thank you Jay!!! Fourth session was calling Jazz in from backyard. Jazz did well with Jay. That is something I am sure I will master shortly! If not, I now have a dog expert to reach out to for help. Jazz was so excited to see Jay on a weekly basis. Jay was so loving and it made me realized I was not loving with Jazz. He is not my dog but my clients. However, I have started to love on him. This way he feels he belongs to someone and that he is loved. This poor dog came from the shelter during COVID. I have no idea what life he had before. However, now Jazz is living his best life ever thanks to Tails of Success. I have always felt professional dog trainer have. value. This recent situation has re-enforced their value based on their experience, quick results, and in home training. I highly recommend this experts. Side note: make sure you do your homework daily to reinforce all Jay's teaches your pet. This way you too will be a happy client with a happy pet.

I would say it takes roughly half an hour, talking over your family pet, as they calmly give your family pet a three step process. Dr Martin was very gentle with our family dog Miles and as we spent our last moments with him, she peacefully sedated him, as well as talked us through their process. Instead of putting your dog and your family through the stresses of a veterinary office definitely give A Peaceful Process a call. You can schedule your appointment online and the will work with your schedule. This isn't the easiest review to make but when it comes to your family pets calm and restful passing, as well as your mindset going through losing wha most would say is a member of your family, this is the way to go about that.
