I can't give Sherry and her incredibly loving staff at the Pet Boutique in Ridgecrest enough stars…read moreto justify their professionalism, kindness and amazing talent. When I took my beloved Aussie, Chloe, in to them today for her summer "haircut," I asked Sherry to check her paw, as Chloe had been limping lately. Sherry discovered there was nothing wrong with her paw but suspected from the difficulty Chloe demonstrated in getting up on the table that the problem lied in her hip. Sherry added she could tell from Chloe's behavior that she was also in pain. Sherry carefully adjusted Chloe's "beauty" treatments to ensure she could groom her without causing any pain. While she was busy doing that, I got on the phone with our vet and described Chloe's symptoms. He said he suspected the Pet Boutique was correct in their assessment, told me I was lucky to have taken Chloe to such observant and caring people, and advised me to bring Chloe in asap. I can't thank the Pet Boutique enough for their help, wisdom and advice. They attended to Chloe for 4-plus hours and she looked more beautiful, relaxed and happy than I'd see her look for months. They even insisted on lifting Chloe into the back seat of my car so she wouldn't have to jump up and hurt her hip. All this for the grand total of -- wait for it -- $31! You can't go wrong with these wonderful people. Look no further for 5-star pet grooming if you live in Ridgecrest. If you don't, trust me on this: The Pet Boutique is well worth the drive. After searching for emergency vets and pet urgent care centers, I tried getting my cat, Gumdrop,…read moretreated for pyometra at a place in Lancaster but they were going to charge me around $2000 just for diagnostics alone, then another $3000 for an emergency spay! I couldn't afford it and was so scared I'd have to get her put to sleep. Then I called Bishop Veterinary Hospital and was able to get a walk in appointment the very next day! The staff was so helpful and communicated very well, and even the veterinarian himself communicated directly with me about Gumdrop's treatment plan. Gumdrop needed to be spayed anyway, so the vet did not require me to get Gumdrop any diagnostic tests. We decided to just have her spayed without any tests. I paid under $500 for an emergency spay, antibiotics, the walk-in fee, and the post surgery pain medication. I am so grateful to Bishop Veterinary Hospital and can't recommend them enough!

He clearly botched the job of putting my mom's dog down but instead of being apologetic he was snippy. My mom was clearly upset as he was again trying another leg to give her the shot and I asked why is it taking so long and he said it's only been 40 seconds. Zero empathy. Every other place I've ever been when they put a dog down it's almost instant but not here. If you want to watch your beloved pet die slowly while they blame the dog then this is the place to go.

The dogs stay outside in large pens and you can pay a little more to have them get some yard time. Overall, the value is good the courtesy is meh but not horrible and they care enough at the kennel to keep my animals healthy.

This has been a stressful year for me as a human, but the bright note in the middle of all has not only been the boarding, but also the training. I now have dogs who respond to commands, walk excellently on leashes and are social with the other dogs. The reason why is simple. Lurine trained them, made them comfortable in their surroundings and kept them together. They have had A+ training and I really couldn't be happier! In fact I'm sad that I'll be moving out of the area, with no one to count on to watch my pups. Cameo Kennels is a bright spot in this little desert town.

It's a small pet store with large prices, but the owner/employees there were über helpful and sweet. I didn't realize they also have a doggie wash station, where one of the employees will give your dog a nice wash. I went to the store to grab a can of wet food and some soft chewy treats for the pups and found both. The wet food selection is towards the back of the store, pass the bath tubs. This pet store definitely has the essentials of what you'd need but the only downside is there aren't too many options.
