I walk in the door, at 12:00 mind you, and they have a huge variety of breakfast bakery items. From scones, to muffins, to cinnamon rolls. The selection was impressive, but I kept thinking, "What are they going to do with all this food?" If every person in downtown Jeanette immediately came in and bought something, they would still have food left over. It was puzzling. But it all looked delicious. Unfortunately for me, I was actually hoping to buy dessert for later that evening - a cake or pie maybe. But they just had breakfast pastries. Since I was there and I felt bad for them, I got a blueberry scone. Ended up being one of the best blueberry scone I ever had.

Most of the baked goods are randomly available depending on what they choose to bake that day, but you will usually find pies, donuts, cream puffs, various kinds of cookies and homemade breadsticks ready for purchase. The brunt of their customers come in for the hard rolls and buns so it is always wise to place your order ahead of time. I love the little notebook they use to record the phoned in orders. I never grow tired of my visits to this little shop. It is always fun to stop in and see what goodies are available inside the case or on top of their counter. They usually know their customers on a first name basis and the owners, (particularly Mrs. Enrico) usually take the time to engage in friendly conversation regarding you and your family. . I absolutely love the family history and beginnings of this bakery and certainly appreciate all the years of hard work that have gone into turning this business into one of the many gems of the city of Jeannette. Cash only.

When you step up to the window to order, you can see what an amazing job they did on the inside. It a tiny, cute kitchen and decorated perfectly. They had several different types of cupcakes available and I was excited to try a few. I decided on 3 different flavors: Strawberry Fields, Queen of Tarts, and The Acorn. The Acorn was a chocolate/peanut butter combination that features a cute little acorn-shaped buckeye on top. The peanut butter flavor definitely came out. The Queen of Tarts was a terrific lemon/raspberry flavoring. Not only did the lemon cake taste very citrusy, but there was fresh raspberry preserves inside the cake mixed with a lemon curd. My favorite, though was the Strawberry Fields. The fresh strawberries in the middle, combined with the perfect buttercream on top was just the start. On top of the buttercream icing there was a dusting of strawberry crumble. The flavor of strawberry really came through on this cupcake and it was delicious. The icing on all of the cupcakes was smooth and delicious. There was quite a bit of icing, which can sometimes take over the cake, but that is probably just personal preference. The cake, in my opinion, could have been slightly more moist as the cupcakes were all a bit on the crumbly side. But all in all, the cupcake flavors came through wonderfully and I really enjoyed all the combinations.

And while it is on the expensive side, it is absolutely worth it. Their products are high quality and there is a wide variety of unique items. My favorite part of the store is the Olive & Antipasti Bar. So many delicious options! Things like a wide variety of olives (some stuffed some not), garlic, spicy garlic, greek salads, pasta salads. Be careful how much you put in your container because it adds up fast (but it is worth it). The deli has a wide variety of meat, cheese and prepared food options. A variety of salads (chicken salad, ham salad, pasta salads etc) plus things like ready to heat chicken. Service there was fast and efficient. They are in the middle of a remodel, so the space is slightly smaller than usual, but they still pack everything in. I highly recommend a visit here!

I've been trying to…read moresupport more small businesses during the quarantine, and needed to order my mother and father-in-law a 39th Wedding Anniversary cake. I've seen others on social media post about this bakery, and I wanted to give them a try. I was so glad I did! Contacting the shop was a little bit difficult. I'll give that to the quarantine situation. But my phone call and email didn't go through, and I had to resort to messaging the owner on facebook messenger to place my order. I was looking for a small cake for just my in-laws to enjoy since we couldn't celebrate as one big family at the time. The bakery offers a large variety of cake flavors, fillings, and icings. I requested an almond flavored cake with raspberry filling and a vanilla buttercream. I also requested simple anniversary decorations, too. When I picked up the cake the owner was cheerful and energetic and showed me the cake. She put the text "Happy 39th Wedding Anniversary" in red lettering because she researched the anniversary and realized it was the "ruby anniversary", so she made it red in honor of that. The simple touches the owner puts into her work really show! The prices for cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods aren't provided on the bakery's website, so be sure to ask ahead of time so you're not surprised. The cake I ordered came to $25.00. I know I could get a cake cheaper elsewhere, but believe me when I tell you that the quality and flavor of this cake was bar-none! My mother-in-law is a huge Oakmont Bakery fan, which would be considered one of Jess B Bakes competitors. My mother-in-law called me after she tried the cake and told me enthusiastically that this cake was better than Oakmont Bakery! My MIL being the sweetheart that she is gave my husband and I a small piece of her cake, and I have to agree with her. The cake was light and fluffy, and there was a thick layer of the raspberry filling so you could actually taste all of the flavors. If you're looking for a local bakery with exceptional flavor and quality, please consider giving Jess B Bakes your business. My family will certainly give them our business for cake orders in the future!

When you walk in, it has a warm, inviting vibe. There are a variety of tables and seating options (including some couch and comfy chair type seating). You order by going up to the counter, and they either call your order or will bring it to your table when it is done if you are eating it there. One down side is that there is a fairly large menu and it isn't always easy to find/see all of the options when you are waiting to order. My daughter saw someone got a bubble tea but at the time we were looking, that menu wasn't easy to spot so we didn't even know it was something they offered! All of their food items are made to order (well, I suppose except for the soup which is home made and just dished out to order). They even have soup flights on certain days! I need to go back and try that because every soup I've ever had here has been delicious. They have the standard coffee menu but also always have some unique and quirky seasonal options. They also have smoothies, bubble teas and some other unique creations. They have tasty breakfast and lunch sandwiches, breakfast scrambles, mac and cheese and a variety of sandwiches. You can easily customize your meals and the staff is great about providing recommendations. It can take awhile to get your food/drinks, but that is because everything is made to order. A fun and tasty place for a bite to eat or a sweet treat!

They have both a drive-through and the option to walk inside. Both times we ended up walking in, and the inside has a decent amount of seating along with a display case for some baked goods. I believe they also had four people working on both of the days that I was there, and as you might imagine, they do a brisk business. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a Paris Toast Latte while my wife went with the Nor'threester Iced. The menu described mine as maple, brown sugar cinnamon, and shortbread, while my wife's was white chocolate, vanilla, and coconut. It took about seven minutes from ordering until we had our coffees and were on our way. My coffee ended up being pretty good as the mix of the three syrups melded well together. It was a touch on the sweeter side, but you could still taste the coffee on the finish, which I appreciated. My wife enjoyed her iced coffee here as well. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. As a matter of fact, I already have, as their coffee and flavors are solid.
