Didn't really take me seriously when I felt like I needed to come in until I said my doula wanted me to come in but at that point I was in so much pain I wanted epidural. Eloisa also recommended I drink beer while having contractions or some shots. Alcohol is a blood thinner so I can't imagine that's a remotely smart recommendation especially if I did end up taking pain medication for labor, as well as it still being able to be ingested by the baby. St Joseph's was actually really great I loved every single nurse and doctor I met and I had such a significantly good experience going there. I was there for 3 days and in the future if I ever have children again I'm going to st Joseph's. The nurses there were so sweet it actually made me sad that I will never see them again I'd recommend st Joseph's 100%. Definitely seems like eloisa is a bit more in it for the money. Which of course a jib is about money but she lacks any passion, Haley was pretty nice but I barely saw her.

After finally becoming pregnant, it was only natural to continue seeing the naturopathic midwife I…read morehad been seeing for my infertility. She already knew my history, and I had always known that she would be there to deliver my precious baby should I be so lucky to have one. Dr. Kim Bauer is very experienced, extremely loving and simply everything I had ever imagined a midwife would be. I always felt like all my questions were valid and I could genuinely tell she cared about her patients and their babies. When she informed me that she would be bringing on another midwife while she was on maternity leave I was a little anxious only because I liked Dr. Bauer so much. I have to admit though that from the moment I met Dr. Tamar Lieb, I was equally as thrilled to see her too. Both women so kind, so knowledgable and most importantly they clearly knew what they were doing! I had fabulous prenatal care and delivered a healthy baby boy one day before his due date. I had the unmedicated birth I always knew that I wanted with two professional midwives at the Bellingham Birth Center. Things actually went so well that I am strongly considering a home birth with Dr. Lieb and Dr. Bauer should I be so lucky to ever get blessed with another pregnancy. I also would like to add that I went through a bit of a rough patch following the birth of my baby emotionally. I was very anxious and unable to sleep for many days. Both Midwives were relentless with checking in on me and making sure that I was improving and had enough support. I felt their love and genuine concern every step of the way. Both of these midwives come highly recommended from me and I will most definitely use them again God willing!!!

I've never written a Yelp review, but after reading the last review I felt compelled to write of my experience because it is a world away from what that person experienced. I don't think the fact that you weren't married or had previous children was a reason for being turned away, but I do know that Dr. Shapiro has been full for years. I, myself, came to see her as a lesbian who had 4 children through donor insemination and she was always fine with it. Over my years with her she has been super attentive to all of my concerns and has seen me through some mental health crises/suicide attempt, caring for my very aged mother, the suicide of my son, and most recently, my transitioning to male. Although she's never had a trans patient before, she has taken over prescribing my hormone therapy and has been instrumental in getting me the letters I've needed for gender affirming surgery. I am beyond grateful for the years I've had with her and dread the day she retires (which I know is no longer on the distant horizon). I don't really think she needs any 5 star reviews since as I mentioned her practice is full, but I felt I had to offer a counter opinion to the individual that felt they were turned away because of having an "alternative" (?) lifestyle. I agree with Kathryn A. - she's the BEST!!!

The residents were the most uplifted in Spirit that I've ever seen at a convalescent, rehab, or nursing center. All the care staff (save one) I felt to be thoughtful, caring, respectful, and professional. Highland is clean, respectful, peaceful and I recommend this skilled nursing center without hesitate as often as I have the opportunity whether private pay, Medicare or Medicaid. Please check out their website, give them a call, and go out to the center to learn more.

I can not adequately express how fortunate I feel that my mother was in your positive, sweet hands. Thank you

She is incredibly sensitive, kind, and thoughtful, and she approaches your health and recovery from a total body perspective. Before I went to see Haley, I was going to regular physical therapy and plateauing in terms of mobility and pain relief. Through her treatments (and just general warmth), I was finally able and inspired to start on a more active recovery path - seeking out athletic training, strength training, and massage (all of which Haley connected me to), and just generally trying to reclaim a lot of what I had lost physically and emotionally in the past few years. I always leave Haley's office feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, and though I live more than an hour away, I intend to keep going to her for regular treatments as long as I can. My MD, Jason Short, was a good enough guy, but I can no longer abide with the ridiculous wait times at this location. Today, I was scheduled for a 2:50 appt, they took be back around 3:05, and I was still sitting in the exam room waiting for a physician at 3:50. This is completely unacceptable. I understand that physicians get behind for a myriad of reasons, but if they are running late, the office should give you a call and let you know so you have the option to reschedule. This is not a unique circumstance, although it is the longest. I have been made to wait for inordinately long periods of time many times over the years. No longer. I do not recommend NSFM. It seems as though they are more focused on patient volume than patient satisfaction.
