Terrible experience. I remember a visit from 3 years ago was terrible. Way over prescribed me for a sinus infection and when I got bad side effects from it, I went for a follow up and the main doctor was denying any possibility that it could of been the drugs and basically rushed me out of the office. Instead of giving me options or recommendations on how to treat the side effects, they just rushed me out of the office and denied all possibilities that drugs could cause side effects lol. read more

Three nice experiences with Dr. Kahfri and team. I have been there three separate times and they are consistently helpful and efficient.

I got a laceration on my finger and the bleeding wouldn't stop and I assessed that I needed medical care. I found this clinic on Apple Maps and was very fortunate they were opened on a Sunday until 4pm. They were just 1 mile from me and after I patched myself up I arrived at the clinic at 3:20pm and the entire staff sprung into action. All the ladies were very kind, humble, professional, and efficient. 5 stitches later and they still closed the office by 4pm. I went back 2 days later for a follow up and the Doctor was pleased with what his Sunday staff did. I really like this Urgent Care office, thanks ladies. read more

I love Birmingham Urgent Care and Dr. Kafri is so kind and an excellent doctor. His front staff is warm and wonderful. They remember me, my two kids and my husband when we come in. The wait is never long and everyone has a nice bedside manner. We all got the flu one after the other over winter break. So we spent a lot of time there. Then my son got a sinus infection on top of that. Dr. Kafri had tickets to some Red Wings games and gave them to my son. He plays hockey and he was wearing his Red Wings Jersey ... it was just such a thoughtful and generous act. I just can't say enough about the practice. And then yesterday my husband sliced his thumb with a new paring knife ... and he was in and out of Birmingham Urgent Care with three stitches and a tetnus shot in under an hour. I stopped in for an eyelid puffiness and soreness. I was greeted by kind and efficient staff and saw the Dr within 10 minutes. He was great! I know this is a drop in so it could have been busy but there was only a few patients -which I am sure helped my fast care but still, it was a great experience all around. They billed my insurance , called my prescription into the pharmacy and I was on my way!!! Would give them 10 stars if I could! read more

Dr. Kafri is a very kind and helpful physician. His explanations are excellent and never leaves you in confusion. He enters any needed prescriptions immediately. In fact, I received a text from my drug store before I got home and I only live about four blocks away. Absolutely disrespectful and uncaring. Went on April 28 with my spouse who had a badly sprained ankle (we thought it might be broken). He was in terrible pain and couldn't even walk, had to hop. The two women at the reception took one look at our insurance (which is valid and in good standing) and, because they were unfamiliar with the logo on the card, promptly kicked us out! They didn't even glance at my spouse who was sitting in obvious pain. They said "we don't recognize this insurance, you'll have to go elsewhere" and that was that. An incredible lack of professionalism or basic manners. Never, ever stepping in there again. I'm wondering if racism played a role as my spouse is clearly Asian. Am thinking of asking my lawyer. read more

Visited on a Weds. night after a bad fall jogging. Receptionist, nurse and Dr. Kafri were all very kind, professional and efficient. Carefully examined my injuries, did some x-rays, cleaned and bandaged me up. In and out in 30 minutes. Definitely recommend. read more

My wife and I visited Birmingham Urgent care after coming down with a cold over the weekend. We found this place via reviews on Yelp and decided to check it out. As others have noted, the door to enter their office is a little shaggy looking but don't let that prevent you from stepping in! The interior was very clean. We had a fantastic experience at this facility. The front-desk staff were friendly and prompt. There was almost no wait and we were both in-and-out within 30 minutes. We were treated by a nurse and the attending physician. Both were very nice and knowledgeable. The physician was great in giving us lots of information above and beyond anything I've ever experienced at my primary care physician's office. She was also intent on making sure we understood the negatives of anti-biotics and didn't shove medications down our throats like most doctors. Overall, we're sure to come back to this place and highly recommend it to everyone! read more

This place is pretty good. I was having trouble breathing and could feel flem in my lungs, so I went here and they prescribed me a z-pack. They even had a list of area pharmacies and they called in the prescription for me to the rite aid down the street so I could pick it up at my own convenience (which was pretty much immediately lol). Another nice thing about the visit... they didn't make me do unnecessary things. I went to an urgent care place in novi a previous time, and they had wanted to do bloodwork and a urine sample, use the flashlight thingy to look in my ears, etc. Birmingham Urgent Care didn't ask me to do any of that (I'm assuming that also meant they didn't bill me for any of that!) This place is on a side street, but between maple and Woodward so it's not remote by any means; it's definitely in downtown Birmingham. I am a local so I didn't think it was hard to find; I go by it all the time. But I also get stopped probably once every other week while walking the dog by a patron asking for directions to get here (when people are nearby but circling the same area). It's a yellowish/brownish brick building with cool arches. It is located near office buildings. A couple buildings from Maple, on Elm street. read more

I did not feel rushed and I felt cared for. I got a PCR test and the nurse was so gentle it didn't hurt at all! I will recommend this place to many others! read more

The only reason I'm giving one star is because of the kind staff. The doctor is useless. The worst experience I've ever had at any urgent care. First, he prescribes me a steroid and antibiotics for a cough. After I had a terrible reaction to the steroid(anxiety, night sweats, couldn't sleep), I did a follow-up visit and when I told the "doctor" about the reaction it caused me, he completely dismissed what I was saying and would not accept that what he gave me caused it. Instead of trying to hear me out and direct me where to seek help next, I could see he was shaking and scared likely trying to save his ass by lying to me that he's never heard of this in over 30 years. I got multiple second opinions from other doctors and they all agreed that the steroid caused it and often has bad side effects or reactions. And that they themselves would not have prescribed that steroid for a cough and would have let antibiotics fight it first. Let's just say it's way too easy to open up urgent care these days. read more

I have never been to an urgent care before. My doctor was not available and the nurse said to try one so I looked for the closest one. Other reviews said this is hard to find but I often travel up Elm on my way from Kroger off Maple. The place is not fancy but the attention was prompt. The Doctor seemed very knowledgable and spent a good amount of time talking about my sinus issue and medications. I got a prescription and was on my way. I give this 5 stars. It was a perfectly satisfactory trip to the doctor as those things go. read more

This place is a gem! I was in and out SO QUICK for stitches. I was literally on my way with stitches in about 45 minutes after arriving to the office. I'd probably be waiting 5 hours at somewhere like the big local hospitals. Dr Kafti is great - very caring, thorough and knowledgeable. The other staff there is also so good. Ok, I needed to go to the doctor quick. The physician referral I got didn't see patients on Monday (I though Weds was the day for docs to freeload?). I got referred to some urgent care locations in the C of D and said, "thanks but no thanks." I had been to one on Woodward north of 9 mile in Ferndale previously and nearly gagged. Anyway I Googled other locations and found Birmingham Urgent Care on Elm St. in (guess where) Birmingham, MI. You can imagine my surprise that B'ham would allow anything like that in its city. Anyway, its just 3 buildings south of Maple on Elm St, the southwest side of the street. The sign is about as big as a pinhead (signage laws in B'ham no doubt in addition to fact that the powers that be don't want a bunch of poor people slummin in their hood). This was a Monday around 2:45PM. No one in the place. By urgent care standards it was clean. The staff was nice enough (and of course I had health insurance). Simply put, the doc was knowledge, made a few recommendations, wrote the script, and I was out in 30 mins. Yes, that's right people, 30 mins. Now I know what some of you are thinking: the guy has health insurance, why not go to "a regular doctor." Well, the regular doc was taking a three day weekend. With my BCBS plan, I go to the ER and bam! Its $75. I go to the doctor's office or urgent care its $10. With the script, the whole thing was $15. You do the math. Anyway, in a pinch, this place was fine. read more

Almost never have to wait long to see a doctor. Easy parking. Quick solution to run of the mill medical problems like infections. Also I have used them when I needed a quick turnaround for camp forms or school medical paperwork. The doctors are very kind and seem knowledgable about any problems we have brought their way. The worst medical facility and care that I've ever experienced!!!!!! I had a fall and called ahead to ensure they have X-ray capabilities. When I arrived, no one could help me out of the car. No crutches or wheelchair available. They had me hop on one foot. They didn't even offer to assist me. After taking the Xrays, they told me that they had to send them out to read (which would take 72 hours). The Internist on staff told me that he 'didn't think' anything was broken. He wrote a script for vicoden - I wanted proper care NOT drugs. I left and went elsewhere and discovered my foot was broken. read more

The super-friendly doctors and nurses at Birmingham Urgent Care truely care about my family and I. During every visit I am surprised by either a doctor, nurse, or both who remember health details of our family. Today I took our daughters in and Dr. Kafri asked if they were allergic to penicillin the way our son is. I paused, savoring the fact that it is so nice to have doctors who not only care, but remember details. We never have waited long and appreciate the clean office and waiting rooms.
