I was lucky enough to explore this market when I took part in one of the 4am Project photowalks (you get up before 4am, then photograph what you can see. It became a bit of a thing, where people planned in advance where they wanted to explore at 4am on a given date, and this was one of those locations.
We must have arrived about 5am, and compared to the rest of the city, the market was a bustling hive of colour and voices and activity. Stalls and stalls of fresh produce and flowers, assaulting the senses visually and through smell too. (Olfactorily?) It felt surreal anyway, as it was 5 in the morning, but the people working there were all bright and eager to chat, or to have their produce photographed.
