My repaired Birk (Arizona Soft Footbed Gold Metallic ) has the same comfortable give, looks like it was never destroyed by my puppy and not one person can tell that they were re-corked and re-soled. I sent my gnarly old Birkenstock sandals for repair and had a great experience. I had the sole and insole replaced (using genuine materials) and the leather upper and buckles cleaned. You just print a form off the site, send it in with your shoes, and in a few days you have them back... There are a number of companies that do this service (honestly the google search is a little overwhelming), but since it's hard to find recent or decent reviews I'll go on record for these guys... read more

Rescued and restored a beloved pair of Birks. Thankful to have the back as good as new!

Here's an update: Birkenstock called the guy and told him that he should re-resole my shoes with actual Birk footbeds. They called me back (Birkenstock, not ibirks.com) saying that he agreed to resole again at no charge, and that I should send the shoes back again to have the work done. A couple of weeks went by, and I got curious what was taking so long. I sent an email asking for an update, and this message is what I got in return: "Yes I got them back a few days ago. Looks like you wore them a lot, as now I cannot use the footbeds again. First, Remove the Dispute and send conformation to me. Second, Update the Yelp to positive. (send conformation) When these are done I will ship your shoes back with new Birkenstock footbeds and dura heels." So basically he is holding my shoes ransom for a positive review. Also, pretty gross and unethical that he intended to reuse them. I wouldn't want to get footbeds that some dude had been walking around in (especially since they are the wrong ones to begin with). The "new" iberks.com is not run by Tom Lonergan of Cincinnati any longer. Tom did a great job of servicing his customers. Now a guy in Colorado is using all of Tom's web pages, photos, reviews etc. for his business. I'm assuming he bought those rights when he bought the business. The only problem is that this Bret fellow has no customer service skills whatsoever. I will not go into detail of my specific issue, but just beware that this guy is piggy backing off of Tom's reputation. read more

The sort of quick, ethical, high-quality craftsmanship we rarely see these days. The mail order process is a breeze: you download the mailing label from his website, slap it on a box or a large, sturdy envelope (I recommend a tyvek envelope), slip in your sandals and you're done. I had a question while filling out the order form and called the service number. Tom himself answered (after hours!) and walked me through the process. Shortly thereafter, I received my re-soled Birkenstock's in the mail. They were not "good as new", they were better than new. He resoled them for me with a dura-heel which is especially useful for me because it just so happens that is where my birks get worn down the fastest. Highly recommended. read more

The soles were wearing through and I sent them in to be resoled with the added heel plate. He called saying the foot board was worn (of course! these were faves!) and "should" be replaced. I approved even with a voice in my head saying it wasn't a good idea . He called again to say to foot board in my size was on back order and he would use one just as good. when I got them back, the straps were the only original part and the foot board felt weird and uncomfortable - nowhere close to the old friends I sent. If I had tried these on new in a store, I wouldn't have bought them. It cost more than a brand new pair and now sit in the back of the closet while I wear another pair that will never be sent here. read more

Been putting off having my Birkenstocks resoled for years, they were literally falling apart. Sent them off to this guy and got them back in a week like new -- but based around my well worn in "chassis" -- I don't know much about shoes but these look pretty damn perfect and they feel great to wear. I found this company googling around and took a chance based on these handful of good reviews. Per the website's commitment I got my sad Birks back in a nano second with brand new soles and a refreshed cork base. The work was great and I wanted to add my two cents to the other reviews. This place does great work. This is a much better option than blowing money on a new pair when your old ones feel so good. read more

Thanks to the other review, I gave this place a shot with great results. I sent three pair of Birki's for completely new footbeds, cork and soles with a request for soft footbed for all. Tom called me to make sure it was okay my repairs would take an extra couple of days. Received my shoes back, they look beautiful! Super fast, great customer service. For those like me who were skeptical of the authenticity, I confirmed with Birkenstock USA that iBirks.com is indeed authorized for Birkenstock repair. I also shipped my shoes from California and got them back like new in about a week! Fast and easy to ship, and my Birkenstocks never looked better.
