It was like the coolest venue and people would come in with these great ideas and completely decorated and it would look different every single time you'd go to the space I saw that the sign says it is up for rent so it is permanently closed, but the business still throws parties just I think they usually use the Mondrian. UC would throw these epic themed parties... I live in walking distance so I would take a roadie and walk on over and it was always something fun like a Brazilian Samba night they had Coachella Chic, and WWD Fashion Week. I loved getting all dressed up and then you know, taking pictures of the step and repeat and meeting so many different people from all over... it's not the same at the Mondrian first of all I have to get there. I can't just walk to the Mondrian and there's just something about the parties that is just not the same so this event space was amazing. I see it's for rent now. I can't imagine how much it would cost to rent out that space and have it full. At least every other weekend to make your rent. I don't know if any of it is non-for-profit I have no idea but it's gotta be a big chunk of changed to rent that space cause it's a really big space. It goes way back. You can't tell how big it is from looking at it on the street so I will always have my fond memories of this place and hopefully they find a different space to open.

Located off of Jefferson boulevard in Culver City, this place is one of a kind. My first impression was its an art gallery converted to a music venue. While everything else in the area is a beach bar, this is hand down the coolest spot in town. It's often hard to find street parking, so I find it super convenient that they have a valet. The owner Michael is incredibly nice, and from the bouncers to the bartenders I couldn't find a single negative thing to say about their amazing staff. Culver City PD actually runs their security so you feel safe and sound while dancing to top DJs from around the world. I've attended their Rose and Lace parties where they often have aerial acrobatics and beautiful dancers in elaborate costumes. This lace party they actually had the Love Bus with a DJ on top in the back yard. This place never ceases to amaze me.

I have rented a lot of spaces in LA for meetings, pop ups, and workshops and none of them were this easy to work with. There's space to do just about anything and they have in house media and event services with competitive rates if you don't want to have to spend time shopping around. They have a great sound system, lighting, camera's, even a full bathroom. This is definitely a gem in South LA and I look forward to having events and shoots here in the near future!

This would be very nice for dancing or a cocktail area. The inside isn't as nice. It is actually an old smog shoppe and so if you're having a formal affair (like a formal wedding), this will feel off. The bathrooms especially give this a more casual, chain restaurant feeling. The neighborhood isn't great but if you come for any event, it's very likely there will be valet parking. That is the ONLY way to do it. Absolutely worth looking at if you're doing a work meeting, conference, rehearsal dinner or something where a more relaxed, artsy feel is in order.

The location is good - but beware of the parking. Do not park in the residential area behind the building, we got a parking ticket - $68 :( You can throw an event as small as 50 people all the way up to 400 people. I attended the Prettycity beauty sample sale and it was the perfect venue. There was a pretty big bar and the space was laid out nicelyl. I can imagine someone throwing a company party, wedding reception or even a bar mitzvah. Outside the building there was a parking entryway/driveway for the valet service. But like I said, if you aren't going to valet, be careful where you park. Make sure you read all the signs and avoid the costly mistake I made.

There will always be things that stand out and some points of improvement. I'm grateful for the opportunity and by no means trying to offend. I love that when you first walk in, the guests are greeted at the table and given a quick run down. Loved how the bar was the first thing I saw! Started with Mr.Bartender. What event can you start without a refreshment. I like how their were multiple bartenders keeping the lines short and at the same time finishing each drink off with quality and love! Now that my mood was set right, off to feast! My first stop was at Chef Warren's booth. I could smell the aromas from the bar! I knew I had to try it. I think after having his gumbo the standard was set really high! I remember the other food but the gumbo here..OMG! So I made my way through the crowd only to notice a lack of trash cans! While juggling my cell phone, trying to take pictures of the food, holding small plates and balancing my drink, I knew I had to dash towards a trash can to start freeing my hands! Yes I did see them, maybe like 2 in each side of the room...but it was still a problem. I saw many people spill food and drinks. In the second room where Maggiano and Lawry were located, many people used the beautiful center tables to pile it with trash. While having our delicious hors d'oeuvres and enjoying the beautiful decor, it was not pleasant to smell or see leftover trash piled on. My suggestion would be to not place trash cans so far apart. One side of the room to another is a long ways considering when the room is packed. Also, having the guys who did do a good job emptying the trash come by from time to time to check and clean the tables would be great. The floor was also wet from drinks, making sure no one slides is a Plus! :) Lastly, my real problem third room. The DJ! Most people said it was great. I actually disagree! The music was overly loud to the point where you had to yell just to be heard. It almost took away from the interaction. The music choice, in my opinion wasn't the most crowd oriented. John Hart's, "Who Booty" followed by Kid Ink's "Show Me"" isn't something I would play to this crowd. Lol, these are songs I do enjoy, however it was very weird hearing an older woman greet someone she recognized at a bar mitzvah while Chris Brown was singing in the background "Baby let me put your panties to the side, I'mma make you feel alright." Focused on youth, they have a skate ramp outside and an indoor space that just screams creativity and expression. Multiple programs call this space their homes, including: Global Groove- http://myglobalgroove.com/location A program for younger children to explore their creativity after school or just whenever. Inside Out- http://www.insideoutca.org/ A program for middle school children with an emphasis on diversity and activities including art and music. They also make their space available for other community events. I attended a Swap O Rama Rama clothing swap and redesign event here http://www.hiplinemedia.com/Hip_Line_Media/Swap_O_Rama_Rama.html and was impressed with this center. It's almost hidden if you are not looking for it, but it's one of those great places that more people should know about. We need more of these positive community centers! Big kitchen for your caterer. The oven is reliable and the fridge is big.
