Never, ever been less than happy just being around them and when we leave with a 'haul.' We come at least once a week, stock is always replenished with new varieties we love checking out, and taking home new friends with us every trip. Wet Pets is the ONLY place I trust as an experienced aquarist to have the healthiest stock, cleanest tanks and best choices to pick from. Gordon, Mandy and Amy are very knowledgeable in freshwater and marine and exhibit their skills in the displays they keep and care for. Questions? Just ask. These guys are attentive, customer oriented and can be depended on to follow up with you..really personalized and caring. Never any pressure to buy but always offering advice when asked, recommendations freely given which I appreciate and have never been steered wrong. Always available with customer service, smiles and concerns that you are happy ..if any issues arise they are glad to fix them on the spot. We just don't go anywhere else - found warm friends here and a 'home store' for our aquarium needs plus it's our "fishing trip" each week . A fifty year business that reflects that in how they treat folks. On a scale of five stars, I award ten!

Please allow me to take a moment to recognize Mandy, Sydney, and Petco Staff. In the past three…read more(3) months I bought a property and restored a pond that was a bit neglected. After looking for countless landscapers and not receiving response follow ups my son and I decided to redo the pond to house Koi. The results were phenomenal. Koi were very hard to find in our area, but Petco consistently had them and so the story begins. Each month (twice) we went over to Petco and purchased Koi (oldest 2 to 3 months old from purchase date) and to date they continue to flourish without any issues. The staff each time was professional, interested, stressed the importance of a healthy habitat, what it takes to ensure a healthy habitat, and was extremely welcoming. Our next communication with the Petco staff will always be cherished and remembered! Mandy recalled our situation, my search, and asked me questions which led to one of the most amazing blessings for all involved! Mandy in the most professional and ethical manner matched a customer and I with similar needs which solved a problem. Initially all were excited, but we were concerned about the rehoming, transportation, and overall health of the fish. Unfortunately, none in this area advertises rescue and/or transportation services for Koi. Mandy and Sydney were not deterred and their clear determination, compassion, and care for animals was so evident. They researched, always communicated with parties, and a time was scheduled for the transfer. If I am not mistaken these ladies stated this was their first rescue and rehome, but it seemed as anything but. From netting the fish, calming them down, a smooth ride, and a slow peaceful introduction to their new environment the entire process was flawless, heartwarming, and beyond what I ever imagined. Mandy, Sydney, and the Montgomery, AL Petco staff are simply amazing! Every encounter they go above and beyond to ensure animals are cared for and customers are knowledgeable to ensure well-being and health for pets. Clearly their love and care for animals is authentic and extends past the store. I am forever grateful for Mandy, Sydney, and Petco! These ladies represent and are the epitome of what Petco stands for and advertises. Thank you so much and I hope these employees are valued as much as they provide! They deserve so much more than this review and although I tried to compensate them for their time, resources, and gas they respectfully refused and were elated to help the fish and customers! Thank you for the opportunity to cross paths Petco and a heartfelt sincere thank you to Mandy and Sydney!

I had a very difficult experience with Metro Animal Shelter that I feel others should be aware of…read more We adopted a puppy who was about 2 1/2 months old. During the first week, she seemed healthy, energetic, and full of life. We took her to the vet right away for a full exam and began standard preventative care, followed by a second visit for age-appropriate vaccinations. About a week later, she began showing signs of worms. We followed veterinary guidance and gave her the recommended medication. Shortly after, her condition changed significantly; she became lethargic, stopped eating, and began vomiting. At first, we believed this was a reaction to the medication, but her condition worsened quickly. Within days, we had to take her to an emergency vet, where we were told she had advanced Parvo. We ultimately had to make the heartbreaking decision to put her down. She was only with us for about 15 days. Beyond this experience, I was also very concerned with the overall conditions at the shelter. The smell of feces upon entering was overwhelming, and many animals appeared to be in unsanitary conditions, lying in urine or feces. I have also made repeated attempts to contact the Executive Director, Jennifer, over the course of four days, calling on multiple occasions and leaving voicemails. I was informed that my messages were received and that my repeated attempts were known, yet I have not received a response. This lack of communication is unprofessional and concerning. This was not just a disappointing experience; it was devastating. Adopting a pet should be a joyful and hopeful process, and unfortunately, that was not the case here. I would strongly encourage anyone considering adoption to ask detailed questions about health screenings, vaccinations, and overall care conditions before making a decision.

When I picked up the animal, it was already visibly sick. I returned the cat to the shelter for medical treatment, but it received no care and later died. During my visits, I also observed other cats and animals that were visibly ill, without adequate food, water, or proper care. The conditions inside the shelter raise great concerns for the welfare of the animals being housed there.
