If you have restless kids there's a big fun playground. The Otto Wagner church and hospital are nearby if you want to look at some gorgeous architecture. There's a public fountain with drinking water near the main entrance of the grounds.

Along the way (well laid out and easy to walk on), we saw a lot of dears running in the forest (part if the Urwald, the oldest forest of Vienna) or resting on the green-field sites, contemplating them was amazing! But you are not allowed to walk on the fields, they are kept as "Futterwiese", meaning "feed meadow". Don't worry, there are plenty of benches and nice sites within the park :) It is a bit far from the center of Vienna (endstation of the strassenbahn 41) but it keeps the tourists away and will assure you a peaceful time in a beautiful area.

There are some cool walks through the forests and up over the mountain, with the added bonus of some great Heurigers along the way. Take a camera cause the view over Vienna is simply breathtaking. The Summer is more recommended as you can picnic and tour their "Maze" (think Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire maze scene). It was still beautiful and majestic in the Winter time. While staying in Vienna, the Schönbrunn is easy to get to from any U-Bahn Station. You transfer to the u4 (Green Line) and Schönbrunn has its own stop so you cannot miss it! In the Summer, I rented a bike and rode from Karlsplatz to the Schönbrunn and it only took 45minutes while riding through the NaschMarkt. (Note: If you ride a bike or scooter to Schönbrunn, you must leave it on the North Side of the Palace so make sure you have a lock!) Give yourself PLENTY of time (3-4hrs) so you can tour the Gardens, Fountains, Maze, and hopefully get a grand tour of the Schönbrunn Palace. A must see in Vienna, Austria!
