There's a photographer awaiting to snap personalize pictures for guests. With each purchase guests were also treated to a drawn portrait painted in coffee. The salesperson, who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, mentioned that the seeds are actually pressed on site (there was indeed an oil-pressing machine sitting in the corner of the store) and invited us to come in on a weekday to check out the process. He also mentioned Papa Rozier offers classes where we can make our own lip balms/body bars/etc which I think would be a wonderful experience. Other than the pure, cold-pressed oils, I would recommend checking out their soaps and body lotion bars (both of which are sold in eco-friendly, solid forms).

An old-time pushcart propping up a "Welcome" sign catches your eye from the street so you know you're in the right place, which was helpful because the shop is a bit off the beaten path (although not at all hard to find if armed with the address). The site seems to have been chosen specifically for its industrial feel, but there is no trace of coldness from what used to be a factory (and before that, about 100 years ago, a horse stable) The space has a kind of country farmhouse feel to it, with decorative scarves hanging from the brick walls and sponge-painted planks of wood decorating the front-of-house coffee bar. I talked to the manager (Fumio Tashiro, a very hospitable man), who said the café will change ownership in July, and an entirely new drink menu will be rolled out. He mentioned he will still be here, and I plan to come back then and make sure things haven't changed too much, as I really like it the way it is now!

Our design process was amazing. We were able to order our diamonds and see them in person early on (something that other jewelers in NYC didn't allow us to do!). We then went back and forth with Olivia and Sue regarding the design of the ring. Then, they commissioned a computer rendering of the ring for us, and they even made a wax cast that my partner tried on! Finally, we received the ring and my partner says it is perfect. I commissioned a rose gold hammered ring. The hammering on the ring is the best and most precise among all of the New York jewelers that we have visited. Goldpoint is my #1 recommendation for anyone who wants high quality, great-value custom-made rings.
