NEVER RETURNING TO BIOLIFE AFTER TODAY!! I just got finished with my first plasma donation at the Grifol location on 2nd St. 100/10 experience to say the least. Previously I have donated through BioLife at their locations in Utah and Colorado. In both states I have had some not so pleasant experiences, due to my own sensitivity. The return process has almost always made me feel nauseous, a couple times causing me to vomit all over myself and equipment hooked up to me. I do not blame BioLife for these problems because I know that it is a rare occurrence and they always did what they could to help me get through the process. However, the reason I am never going back to BioLife is because during my donation experience with Grifol I didn't feel nauseous once. And on top of that, the plasma donation that would usually take me 45 minutes took me 30 minutes. I also noticed that they cleaned my arm beforehand with a different liquid than they do at BioLife. When I asked them about it they told me it was iodine and that they use it instead of alcohol because not only is it more sterile but also lasts longer. With BioLife I've always been a little hesitant to go back and donate. But with Grifol I have no doubts about returning soon to donate. read more

2 stars because donors are paid however had it not been for that factor I would give it 1 star because they made me sit down for an additional 10 minutes because my temperature was .1 below the required temp. And then they wouldn't even try again.... So here are the Don't(s) 1. Do not eat a tic tac or any gum/ minty product before being interviewed as it affect their temperature machine and they will have to defer you... (Temp must be 98.0-1,2,3) 2. Don't drink cold water until after your interview as it will mess with your temp reading and they will defer you or make you wait 10 mins... 3. DO not forget the "aids bulletin" seriously right as they call your name grab one at the desk and take it in. If you don't have it they will make you wait 10 mins.... 4. Make sure you eat protein of some sort and at least 2-3 glasses of water before bed and right as you wake up to ensure your counts are good! If you DONT you will be Deferred- which means sent away for the day and you will have to try again the next day 5. Don't get immunization as you will have to wait 2 weeks read more

Receptionist kinda rude when I call. But most of them are nice, the problem is they're not very flexible in trying to find/think up ways to help you. Kinda like they don't want to think about other possible options, I've heard "I don't know" more than once. read more

I wish I could put zero! There is so much favoritism!! I have seen time and time again, donors with later appointments get to go, donors not having an appointment being able to go before walk-ins start. (Yes if you don't have an appointment please come early and act like you don't know when walk-ins start! They'll let you go because I've seen walk-ins at 730!) I got screwed over because no favoritism to me! Slept through my alarm and came 40 mins late...they won't let me go. I have to wait till 8 o'clock for walk-ins! Please bombard them early, before walk-ins start, for non appointments knowing they have let other people go before walk-ins! read more

Have always donated my plasma at different centers in different states. Been going to Biomat USA plasma center for almost 2 years twice a week and have never had an issue. The staff are quick and professional, and very nice. I love coming to this place and they will take care of you if you decide to come here as well. read more

I've loved donating plasma here! The amount of people that they process efficiently is amazing. The staff is well trained and very effective. This is my first plasma donor Center that I've donated with but I consider it to be efficient! They have a good system that helps everyone know what is going on. The first time I came, they were very friendly and wanted to make sure my experience was as good as it could be. I found out by experience that you have to call ahead to make your first appointment instead walking in or setting it up online. Overall, I would highly recommend it to anyone that is looking to make some extra cash while offering help to someone in need! read more

Timely service, great staff that is super friendly! Well, most of them. My experiences have been great. The new appointment times are such a great improvement. They play movies too so time goes by faster. They always answer the questions I have about the process of donating. The donating time depends on you so there's no way of telling how long you'll be in there. read more

First appointment: took just over four hours. Staff was friendly but the huge bruise on my right arm, and need for two needle reinserts should prove lack of competence. Half way through I became physically ill and had to quit. I asked about m6 next appointment and was told just to schedule it online, but the doctor had to look at my chart. If there was a problem they'd give me a call. Second appointment: Scheduled for 6am (only time that works with my schedule because of work and school). I wake up at 5am, eat the last of the food in the house, and walk about two and a half miles there. I have an issue logging in and go to the front desk. After giving my name and sitting down I listen to the staff chatter about how much they don't want to be there, not what you want to hear from the people about to shove a needle in your arm. Roughly 20 minutes later a girl tells me I can't donate today because the doctor didn't look at my chart. Why did that take 20 minutes, clearly they weren't busy. Asked why I didn't get a call and was told that they don't do that. I'm exhausted from lack of sleep, out of food (if I knew I couldn't donate I'd of prepared) , still bruised and sore, insulted, and they flat out don't care because they know poor college kids will keep coming back. Certainly there are better ways to make a few bucks, and if you're in it just for the donation go up to Idaho Falls. Sucks that the first donation goes to waste, but I'm certainly never going back. read more

$55/week seems like a good deal. But when you think of the fact that they sell it for near $1000... yeah...Total donation time (including screening) can take about 45min - 1 1/2 hours after your first time (also depends on how busy they are). Sometimes they refuse me due to low body temperature or a wound near the area where they stick you, but it depends on the staff sometimes. It's cool that they play movies while you donate except when they play the same ones each week. read more

I've found the staff to be very friendly and fun to interact with. They made my first time donating a good experience and I've returned on multiple occasions. In my experience they follow the cue pretty fairly and it only takes a long time to get through due to the high volume of donors. I just bring my hw or a book to read so that I don't miss a beat while I wait. Strike up a convo with some of the workers there while they're working on you, I've found they're pretty happy to get to know you. read more

It's kinda annoying having to wait two hrs to donate, it's been getting better though. They need to come up with a way to call out names better, you can never hear them unless you're sitting next to the front desk. The staff is good. Most of them are nice, friendly, and welcoming. read more

This place has helped me so much when I have been in a pickle financially. They offer promotions and extra rewards and raffles each month, which is way nice. It is great that they have the $20 first time and $40 second time because it pushes me to come back 2 times in a week (because they need 2 donations to do anything with our plasma...it just makes sense) However, I don't like about a third of the staff members here (in other offices it is different...but for Rexburg) because they are rude, treat me as if I am a child/don't know how to do certain procedures that the patient needs to do (i.e. Kiosk questions, finger pricking, etc.) Some of the staff is on par or above, but the others just seem like they don't want to be there and are rubbing it off on me (which for any place in customer service, is a very bad attribute to have) read more

Ive been going here for about 2 years now, and just like anyone other donor the only reason i kept going back is because you get money out of it. I just can't get over how the staff often complains about having to work and how busy it is because of the amount of donors that go in. Now with the new scheduling system, i still average about a little over an hour before i get stuck for the actual donation. So all in all its about a 2.5-3 hour process. When you get into the donating floor the employees congregate near end of the rows just chatting meanwhile theres donors in chairs waiting to be stuck. Just today I did just a normal appointment, was there nearly 3 hours. And about 2 hours after i leave i get a call ''we need you to come back today because we FORGOT to get a blood sample from you, if you don't come back today you won't be able to donate twice this week therefore only allowing you to get your $20.'' Needless to say i was not a very happy guy, however i kept my cool with home over the phone. And i hate giving a 1 start because they have a few employees that are absolutely awesome, such as Harvey i think his name is. The guy is always smiling and looks happy to be there unlike a majority of his co-workers. read more

Most of the staff are quite friendly and helpful. Of course it's plasma donations and can be kinda scary, but they make it better and offer several promotions to make it even more worthwhile. I've been coming a while now and haven't ever had an issue, and I get some extra cash which it's super needed in this economy, and you can say you help save lives read more

Very nice workers, and they make you feel very comfortable, but the wait is usually 1-1/2 hours before you start donating every time

Most of the people there are terrible at their jobs, not knowing how to prick fingers or arms. One newbie really messed up on the set up and made me deferred for three months and I wasn't able to pay rent. He just said 'oh well' as it didn't effect him. Some have made me take off my religious headwear and insisted it was policy (despite me telling them it was for religious reasons) and others have not asked me at all because they could tell it was me. Really made me feel singled out since I was one of the few people of color there and it has happened more than once. I always get stares afterwards. It's ridiculous. I usually have terrible experiences there but I need the money so I have no choice but to keep going back. read more

They seem to struggle to open on time lately. Perhaps they have a new system of opening checklist, idk. However, having to wait 10-15 minutes pass your scheduled appointment of 6:00am to begin using the kiosk is not okay. Hopefully upper management can figure out how to fix their inefficient opening process procedures. read more

Absolutely terrible. I've donated plasma at other places with no problem. I spend an hour longer than any of the other places I've donated. My fiancé donated while I was there and they clipped a vein and blood was everywhere. She was crying and they told her she can't donate for a week. Inexperience and lack of care for the customer. Do not recommend at all. Better to starve to death than get payments from this institution. read more

Bad bad bad experience, today I was really screwed over by Biomat in Rexburg. They do promotions for the month of march, the deal was do like do 8 donations- in march and you will get an extra 100. I really needed that extra money as a poor college student. What happened is the new schedule appointment online for the coming Wednesday was full, when i checked 2 days prior to schedule my usual visit!!!! Okay, I thought ill keep an eye out for cancellations, no one cancelled at least when I checked the site. So fast forward to today, I thought ill walk in after my morning classes, "nope sorry we aren't excepting walk-ins at this time", as the place looks more empty than usual. So yeah went all month donating and manage to lose out on a much needed bonus, because i couldn't book a simple appointment- as it was apparently over booked. Honestly customer service is like a 1, considering my loyalty and how I've been treated, Ill never go back. What is more infuriating is they make thousands off of a crate of your plasma and give you only a fraction back. If your looking for a place to go, go to Idaho falls at Bio-Life at least you will get out in an hour and a half, compared to 3 hours in slow Rexburg. read more

OVERALL I have been a regular donor at this center and have overall felt pleased with the staff, atmosphere, and process. Everyone there is nice and I've never had issues with the actual donation process. FIRST-TIMERS Expect to take a long time for your first physical and donation as they have a mandatory procedure to go through for physical health and medical history... maybe even 3 hours worth from start to finish. Its the only time you have to make an appointment in advance so call in as soon as the semester starts to get a spot and eat what sounds like a ton of food no more than 30 minutes prior or they will turn you away (even if you felt full, if it doesn't sound like a lot they will turn you away!) Every time after that first donation though (as long as you donate regularly enough) will have a small physical and medical history questionnaire to fulfill before a donation making the entire process go about an hour and a half to 2 hours; so about half the time as the first donation. Your first few donations, you are paid quite a bit even but after your 5 or 6th donation (I believe) it goes to a schedule of $20 the first time in the week and $40 the second time (as of Feb 2014). Pretty worth it most of the time ONE COMPLAINT My complaint however has to do with overall forecasting of how many anticipated donors they will have at given times. Usually I donate early mornings and the time from sign in to complete donation is 1:45, so just under two hour with about 50 minutes being donation itself. I feel that's reasonable especially since I have had to wait to warm up from being cold outside and still been in that time frame. But today I donated and there were a good amount of donors but it was so slow! In my hour and a half prior to being initially called in for my physical I watched a Bourne movie start to finish! Then I accidentally left the aids bulletin (a paper they require you pick up and read at each sign in) on my seat and so was asked to wait which usually means another 15 minutes! Not like I didn't have or read it! It just took so long I set it aside and forgot and wasn't given leniency. I ended up having to leave for classes at college to start so didn't even end up donating because anticipated time to donate ended up being how long I would wait for a physical. Again, it is just this one time I've had an issue, but it was rather frustrating how unprepared the staff was to accommodate everyone there and how they seemed unsympathetic when I said I would then have to leave because I couldn't wait any more. My only complaint and deterrent to donate to date. Learn what days and times are busiest and try to avoid them if you can because for the time being they don't seem to adjust well and their website doesn't seem to allow me to submit suggestions. read more
