Thorough health screening and easy appointment scheduling. Despite being short-staffed they manage the patients that go here really well. They stay true to their word in regard to promotions. They provide very friendly care and always answer any questions I have while donating.

Depending on Location and staffing you could be waiting up to an hour even with a scheduled appointment.

Not worth your time. Twice now I have had to wait an hr even before starting donation. CSL is much more organized and efficient.

Despite living nearly 50 minutes away, I was willing to make the drive and wait several months for an appointment because of Dr. Engle's outstanding reviews. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. After the initial testing was completed by a nurese, another provider entered the room, introduced herself as "Dr.X" and stated that she would be assisting Dr. Engle. Based on that introduction, I reasonably expected Dr. Engle would be joining us at some point during the visit. However, after a nearly two-hour appointment, I never saw Dr. Engle, never spoke with her, and have no idea whether she was even present that day. The provider I ultimately saw mentioned only toward the very end of the appointment that she was a fellow. Had I known from the beginning that I would not be seen by the doctor I specifically selected, researched, and waited months to see, I would have requested Dr. Engle or considered rescheduling. What made the experience even more difficult was that both of my twins had to undergo the eye dilation process twice. The initial drops apparently were not sufficient to fully dilate both children, requiring additional drops later in the appointment. Anyone with young children knows how uncomfortable these drops can be. I had to physically hold down two hysterical children while they experienced the process a second time. It was heartbreaking and significantly prolonged an already lengthy appointment. Adding to my concerns, the paperwork I received upon discharge indicated that Dr. Engle had seen the patients, despite the fact that we never interacted with her at any point during the visit. Overall, I left feeling misled and disappointed. I chose this practice specifically for Dr. Engle's expertise and reputation, drove a considerable distance, waited months for the appointment, and ultimately felt that the provider arrangement was not clearly communicated. Parents deserve transparency about who will actually be providing care to their children. I hope this feedback helps the practice improve communication and set clearer expectations for future patients.

When my dad passed away, the hospital gave me the contact info for "Meaningful Donation" in Aurora Colorado, and I called them. They have an after hours answering service (a real person, not a robot) who took a message, and I received a call back from the company within 30 minutes. They were very kind and compassionate throughout the process, and they took care of all arrangements with the hospital. They will collect the body, provide next of kin with a signed death certificate, use the body for science and medical research (teaching medical students), and then cremate the remains and send some of the ashes back to the surviving family member. I highly recommend this option for people who prefer cremation to casket and burial.

We are strong believers in this process but the communication broke down quickly. We were unable to contact the owner and did not get a call back after his passing. Her mailbox was full and the 24 hour line was an automated robot that was frankly off putting. (My father was properly picked up from hospice care and tended to, we just didnt get the notification about it.) We then received documentation that we were not suppose to receive that added grief and confusion. Without the communication and explanation from the owner, we were left frazzled and confused. Unfortunately, when we did get in touch with owner, her emotions were more important than ours in this gentle state. My fathers brain was able to be donated ahead of our communication after her passed, but after we finally got in touch, it got personal wanting to go over why a comment that I made (and apologized for) hurt her feelings. She then got more personal telling me her mailbox did not have a personal message because she had creditors coming after her. We were then told we had to find another solution for the remainder of the remains of my father. This was cruel to leave us in this situation. Our conversations we prioritized by her needing to vent her feelings and not understanding how sad we were during this time and just wanting to do the right thing. Again, we believe in this process, and strongly encourage others to participate. Just not through this company. We weren't looking for "free cremation services" or a "free transportation" (this we got- a whopping $150 value. lucky us). We genuinely wanted to honor my dad's wishes, but this company didn't let that happen. We have had 2 other experiences with this type of donation and were never met with this type of situation.
