I don't usually leave negative reviews but this happened a few months ago and it still bugs me, so…read morehere we go. I went in for the free trial workout, and it was a joke. At most places the free trial actually gives you an idea of what you'll be doing if you join and how challenging it would be, but after this one I actually still had to go to the gym afterwards to get a workout in. They left me alone on the treadmill for 10 minutes of cardio and then gave me one set of reps on a total of 4 super basic exercises to see where I was at physically. It took less than 20 minutes and I spent less than 10 of them with a trainer. I never felt challenged. To top it all off they never gave me any info about my results, or what future workouts would entail, or how they would get me to my goals. If they had given me anything tangible I may have forgiven the lack of initial challenge, but instead they gave me a sheet of expensive packages and asked me what I wanted to sign up for. I'm in pretty good shape already, so I'm not sure if they thought I wasn't worth the time because I don't have hundreds of pounds to lose, or what, I was just shocked that they didn't really seem to care to sell me on why I should join or give me a good initial experience. After leaving I was super bummed because I felt like I could've loved this place. I ended up joining a different company's program instead.

I started off with a one week trial, then immediately signed up for the 8 class/month package...but it wasn't enough. I wanted more and found myself having major FOMO when I saw the workouts I missed on their social posts! I've been an unlimited member for two months now and go Monday-Friday at 6:15am. It is truly the best start to my day! I'm stronger than I've ever been, I have more energy (which comes in super handy with a toddler at home), and I enjoy the 6:15am crew I get to workout with. This gym is supportive (both coaches and members), the classes are never boring, and I always leave excited to come back for more. If you're looking for something new, I encourage you to at least do the one week trial. I promise you'll be back!

I was studying and looking at a few gyms in the area for a while and kept looking at Black Iron. I set up a meet and greet and the next day after an awesome workout sat down to talk to Mike. After getting a feel for the gym I joined on the spot. The coaching staff are really friendly and this place has a family vibe. I always seem to gravitate towards Veterans as I know what to expect which is an owner who truest cares about his gym family. I travel frequently for work and some owners get phased by that but Mike didn't miss a beat and assured me he was happy to work with me to fit my needs. I love the fact that they are open every day with open and catch up time. Obviously only been here a week so far but I'm extremely happy with Black Iron. Awesome people, great space and although it's going through a revamp what looks like it's going to be an awesome Box. Excited to get further involved in the gym over time.

I had tried all types of diet programs, diet supplements, powders, and fat burners, and nothing worked. I even thought about weight loss surgery options until my insurance denied me. Then I decided to do some research on my own on how I could get the help I needed to succeed in my weight loss battle. I decided to meet with Mark and Christina at the North Texas Clinical Weight Loss Center. I immediately felt relaxed and ready to take on this new adventure. They both explained everything in detail, to help me understand the tools I needed to get started. Christina has been a patient herself and lost over 50lbs and has kept it off. This made me want to be just as successful as she was. I jumped right in and started my journey on October 31st. As Mark would say "The Holiday's start on Halloween." I lost weight so quickly! In the first week I was down 7 lbs. I loved that I had tons of food choices and I was never hungry. The key is to count, count, count those calories and stick to your calorie budget! That combined with drinking TONS of water will get rid of those unwanted pounds. It has now been 5 & 1/2 months since I joined the clinic and I have lost 61 lbs! Now I feel great about myself and I can't wait to go shopping for a new wardrobe. My Husband says he feels like we are dating again. I get so many compliments and everyone wants to know how I did it. So here I am writing this AWESOME review. So stop imagining what you could look like and do something about it! Trust me, if I can do it ANYONE can do it. I'm not just saying that. I truly mean it. Lose weight the healthy way! I have to thank Mark and Christina for always being so supportive and encouraging us to do our weekly weigh-in's and B-12 shots. This helps tremendously and holds me accountable for my weight loss success. Once I reach my weight loss goal of 75 lbs, I will be able to maintain on my own. I will always continue to visit the clinic weekly for weigh-in's and my B-12 shot to help keep me motivated. Thank you NTCWLC!!! Sincerely, Lisa F.
