Loved this visitor center and was pleasantly surprised to find a full museum on the inside! The building is beautiful and right in front of the gulf. There was a wealth of information on the Biloxi area and it provided some interesting history. We loved all the exhibits and enjoyed the time spent there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Theater on the second floor was nice.

Absolutely amazing! The displays and the quality are on par with any major city museum. The best part is it's free if you're visiting Biloxi, I highly recommend that you stop by to learn about this really cool place. You have great views of the lighthouse from here.

Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, the Biloxi Visitor's Center is a must stop location for anyone interested in the history of the gorgeous city. Situated across from the beach and the town's lighthouse, it's a great location to grab a snack, learn about the town and its locals, and buy fabulous souvenirs.

Even though this is located in my Hometown, I still like to visit throughout the year. This is because of the boutique store that is located inside. They carry custom gift ideas all made by local artists or photographers that is perfect for anniversaries or Christmas gifts. The visitor center is located on Beach Blvd, just north of the Biloxi lighthouse and the Gulf of Mexico. The views from the second floor balcony are stunning on a beautiful day. You can also catch great sunsets in the evening. The restrooms are clean and modern. The Biloxi center is a must visit while in Southern Mississippi. It's free to enter and you can get a Biloxi history lesson as well. It's fun for the entire family to enjoy!

The pier extends into Biloxi Bay, offering amazing views during both sunrise and sunset. Unlike many piers, this one is completely free and open to the public. You can walk out to the end and cast for fish or just sit out there and enjoy being a few hundred yards offshore. At 6:30am with a light fog and a gentle breeze, I was the only person here. It was very peaceful. The pier is quite wide (you can socially distance) and smooth enough for a wheelchair. There are benches and fishing stations along the way out. Earlier this year, a section of the pier broke loose and floated up onto the beach about a half mile away, https://www.facebook.com/210420622319688/videos/2707542516183778/. As of October 2020, the pier has not been repaired and it is gated off at the end for safety. The lighthouse pier is adjacent to the actual lighthouse, but they're separate. I'm looking forward to arguing with the Yelp people when they decide to join a lighthouse (a vertical structure) with a pier (a horizontal structure) because they're next to each other. To call this a visitor's center is an insult to the museum quality of information, exhibits, videos, and displays presented. Don't miss this place. It is awesome.

The Biloxi visitor center is definitely a must stop if you're in the area it is located across the beach. It is a beautiful building that encompasses the culture of the area. There's a lot inside that want to learn from the exhibit are very well-made and thought out and there's even a little gift shop inside.

This is a fun visitor center if you're in the Biloxi area and you have some time to kill, but wouldn't consider much of a destination to visit. It's located across from the Biloxi Lighthouse along Beach Blvd. It's a typical visitor center with a reception person ready to provide information about the area, pamphlets of area hotels/restaurants/attractions, and they provide complimentary coffee. There are a few history exhibits on the first floor and free audio guides if you don't want to read the information. On the upper floor, there is an auditorium with 2 films playing - one film on the history of Biloxi (every 15 minutes) and twice daily showings at 10 am and 2 pm a film about hurricane Katrina.

Gorgeous!!! This is one of the best visitors centers I have ever encountered. The location is awesome as it overlooks the beach and Biloxi's most famous landmark (the biloxi lighthouse). The building itself is an architectural standout with its grand staircase, floor-to-ceiling windows, and wraparound balcony. It resembles the former Dantzler plantation house that stood there since the 1850s before Hurricane Katrina came ashore. Check out the movie theater on the second floor that shows the short film "We are Biloxi". Lots of history about Biloxi can be learned here through all the exhibits they have displayed throughout this enormous 24k sq ft house. The visitors center is also one of the very best spots for a private party, wedding, or meeting in the city with its scenic views. Biloxi has a true attraction here with their visitors center. It is a must-see if in Biloxi.

After stopping to get our shrimp poboys we decided to go down to the Biloxi lighthouse to enjoy them. The view of the beach from the parking lot was beautiful. The fingernail moon reflecting of the water is a sight that really could not be captured with a camera. Saw folks making little videos and taking pictures and folks just enjoying themselves while there. In the hustle of busyness of Biloxi this is still one of the few places you can stop and slow down at. Like to come back again and relax after a night of work

Best visitor center I've ever visited. Definitely a must for those just dropping in for the first time on you way to New Orleans.

One of the most substantial of the early vacation houses on the Gulf Coast, the Tullis-Toledano House was built in 1856 for New Orleans native Christoval Sebastian Toledano (1789-1869) and his wife, Matilda Pradat Toledano. The estate, composed of a Creole-influenced Greek Revival house, detached kitchen, servants' quarters, and carriage house, was purchased by the Tullis family in 1939. Damaged during Hurricane Camille and later restored, the house was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005." Online, there is more information. Christoval Sebastian Toledano was a sugar and cotton broker of Spanish descent from New Orleans. The home was a two and one-half story, five-bay structure built of red-clay bricks that were manufactured in a Biloxi brickyard. The upper floors were accessed by a semi-spiraled, wooden staircase. In 1969, the home sustained considerable damage from Hurricane Camille, and was sealed and vacated. In 1975, the Tullis family sold the house and property to the city of Biloxi. The city restored the house and used it for the next 30 years as a museum and community center. After weathering 150 years of storms from the Gulf, Tullis-Toledano Manor was completely destroyed during Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005. A barge from Grand Casino Biloxi washed ashore during the hurricane and crushed the house. Nothing was left of Tullis-Toledano Manor except rubble. There are some insane pictures of the barge on http://www.playmiss.com/2006/index.html The house had been added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The storm was the twelfth tropical cyclone, the fifth hurricane, and the third major hurricane of the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season, as well as the fourth-most intense Atlantic hurricane on record to make landfall in the contiguous United States. Battered by wind, rain and storm surge, some beachfront neighborhoods were completely leveled. Preliminary estimates by Mississippi officials calculated that 90% of the structures within half a mile of the coastline were completely destroyed. The pictures of the coastal casinos - block long buildings! - were picked up and basically launched at the coastline, destroying many 18th century homes and ancient trees. The Bay St. Louis-Pass Christian and the Biloxi-Ocean Springs bridge were entirely destroyed. Katrina's surge was the most extensive, as well as the highest, in the documented history of the United States. That is documented here with a post showing the maximum height of the surge. The Memorial stands 12 feet tall, about the height of the water during Hurricane Katrina's storm surge at the Town Green. It lists the names of the 170 victims that perished during the storm.
