Truly an amazing part of the history of Biloxi, Mississippi and it is amazing think of how Biloxi, Mississippi looked back then. If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend a visit here.

The lowest ten feet of it are well tagged. There is some good fishing here, apparently. This used to be attached to the Hilton/Broadwater Tower, an elegant Art Deco resort on the beach. The Broadwater closed in June 2005. Note that the "roads" here are not paved. Prepare for that. I did okay moving slow and dodging around the worst of the chuck holes. It has six lanes of traffic (three in each direction) as well as a 12 foot wide pedestrian path on the Gulf side. I know all of that because I drove over this bridge at least once a day for each of the five days I was in Biloxi and some times twice or even three times. My friend and I also walked across it from Harrah's to the Ocean Springs side and back. It is 1.75 miles from end to end and has a 95 foot clearance. The bridge is smooth and easy to ride and walk. The storm was the twelfth tropical cyclone, the fifth hurricane, and the third major hurricane of the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season, as well as the fourth-most intense Atlantic hurricane on record to make landfall in the contiguous United States. Battered by wind, rain and storm surge, some beachfront neighborhoods were completely leveled. Preliminary estimates by Mississippi officials calculated that 90% of the structures within half a mile of the coastline were completely destroyed. The pictures of the coastal casinos - block long buildings! - were picked up and basically launched at the coastline, destroying many 18th century homes and ancient trees. The Bay St. Louis-Pass Christian and the Biloxi-Ocean Springs bridge were entirely destroyed. Katrina's surge was the most extensive, as well as the highest, in the documented history of the United States. That is documented here with a post showing the maximum height of the surge. The Memorial stands 12 feet tall, about the height of the water during Hurricane Katrina's storm surge at the Town Green. It lists the names of the 170 victims that perished during the storm. The cost of admission is $15 for adults and will take around 2 hours. They do a guided tour which last for 20 minutes which is a Mary talking about the house 20 minutes straight. For me, my attention span was low that day and everything went in and out of my ear. After that, you get to tour the grounds like the kitchen, guest quarters, etc which I enjoyed the most. The place is pretty big. Make sure when you head back to go to the 2nd floor as there are a lot of artifacts. It was worth my time going however.

These three gentlemen made this the most amazing, relaxing, fun cruise imaginable. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone who wants a wonderful, fun-filled evening ( we went at 6:00 pm) in the most beautiful scenery possible. This was a wonderful way to view the Gulf Coast by water and just all out a Fun! We will most definitely come again with these guys.

Need to tell customers you can't go all the way up before paying full price . Supposedly the wooden platform is soft in places.
