    Margherita pizza

I visited Billy Bricks - Lombard Yorktown at 2770 Highland Ave, Lombard, IL 60148, today, Friday, September 4, 2026, at approximately 12:45 p.m. I traveled about 35 minutes specifically to try this restaurant, and one of the main reasons I made the trip was because it is a wood-fired pizza place. I was really looking forward to trying it. When we arrived at approximately 12:45 p.m., there were only four elderly women inside the restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, clean, comfortable, and quiet, and our waitress was kind, friendly, and very nice. We ordered a Margherita pizza and a Neapolitan pepperoni pizza with a light drizzle of honey. The service was extremely fast, and both pizzas were at our table in less than five minutes after we ordered, which was impressive. The flavor of the pizzas was good, and the crust was amazing. Unfortunately, the pizza itself was disappointing because it was extremely thin, almost like a piece of paper. When I picked up a slice, it immediately folded downward and could not hold its shape. Even when I tried to fold the slice, it simply collapsed instead of maintaining its shape. I understand that Neapolitan-style pizza is traditionally thin, but for my personal taste, this was simply too thin, and it took away from my enjoyment of the pizza. I was also surprised by how quiet the restaurant was during lunchtime, especially considering that it is located in a nice and busy area. The quiet atmosphere was pleasant, but after traveling approximately 35 minutes specifically to try a wood-fired pizza here, I had hoped the overall experience would be more memorable. I want to be fair because there were definitely things I liked: our waitress was very nice, the service was exceptionally fast, the atmosphere was pleasant, the flavor was good, and the wood-fired crust was amazing. However, the extremely thin pizza was the biggest disappointment for me and ultimately affected my overall experience. I am glad I made the trip and tried Billy Bricks for myself, but based on this visit, I would give it three stars. I believe the restaurant has potential, and if the pizza had a little more structure and substance while maintaining the excellent flavor and quality of the wood-fired crust, I would have enjoyed the experience much more.

I really love Billy Bricks and this is conveniently located. The wood fired pizza are amazing coupled with great service. I got the very veggie.. an excellent choice for vegetarian like me or someone looking for a fresh tasting pie. We also with a margarita pizza ... because well... it tastes fantastic ! This casual vibe and good tunes are great!

Great holiday photo op for the family!!

We have gone to this location several times, and the pizza was excellent, as usual. The service was as well!! The manager, Carlos, checked to make sure everything was okay with our food and order. Andrea was super friendly! The cooks are friendly as well. When we walked in we felt welcome. And the ambiance is good. It's not a super "quiet place", but you don't feel like you're yelling over music to try to have a conversation. Love Billy Bricks in Yorktown!! Cute holiday decorations as well.

I'm really pleased with the dietary restriction-friendliness of this menu! I did a BYO pizza with a pesto sauce, vegan cheese, pepperoni, and mushroom.

We had a salad, Classic Margherita Pizza, Garlic Bread and a kids pizza - it was all tasty

Everything was good about this place except for the wait time. We were there on a Tuesday and waited about 25 mins to be served our meal. They apologized profusely which we appreciated. It's a tough time for all restaurants so we understand - food was great, we've had better wood fired pizzas for the price but still it is decent enough to go back should we be around the area

Not just a pizza place, their sandwiches are a great lunch option. The BBQ chicken and the tuna salad in particular are both excellent.

Bricks might be known for the wood burning pizza's, but their subs are just as amazing! The best subs you can get in Lombard.

It's not huge inside Meltwich, but they have a bunch of stool seating and two booths with leatherette seating. I was excited to discover that Meltwich is halal. I'm not a big grilled cheese guy as it's mostly carbs and fat, but Meltwich has other items like chicken and beef. For example, they have a couple of sandwiches with grilled chicken, a couple burger options, even a Philly cheese steak option. They also have a variety of fries and milkshakes. I'd like to try one of the fries w/ meat items some other time. I was overwhelmed with the options, but the employee pointed out his two favorite options, so that helped me narrow it down. I went with the Southern Fried Chicken Melt (just the sandwich, not the combo). It was fried chicken with melted cheese and some veggies smushed between multi-grain bread. It was served very hot, so after a couple of attempted bites I decided to take it home to eat. It was very tasty. It took about 12 minutes to come out. I definitely plan to go again and try some other items. Service was excellent. I think pricing was fair ($12.95 for the sandwich only, plus tax & tip) considering the size of the sandwich; it was enough for two people, quite frankly.

As soon as we walked in, we knew it was going to be a great experience. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor tables available as well as a traditional deli counter. They also have a drive thru! You can choose to order at the counter or be seated with a more traditional restaurant-like service. Our waiter was young but very professional and provided great recommendations. To start, they bring a complimentary bowl of bagel chips (a unique twist and a great way to repurpose old bagels). For my meal, I had a half American sandwich with a bowl of matzo ball soup. It was simple but delicious. On our way out, we stopped at the deli and ordered a few rugelach. They tasted so fresh! My favorite was the apricot flavor. Definitely hope to be back real soon to support such a great spot! Shana Tova!

It was a solid 7, which is why I place it at 3.5 stars. I may be being picky here but it just wasn't to the level of "melt-in-your-mouth" pastrami standards for me. Not to say it wasn't good, because it was perfectly fine. In fact, it's better than most of the pastrami sandwiches I tried in Chicagoland. Maybe it's the fact that I had to bring it back to the office to eat it, and half hour had gone by and pastrami weren't as warm and the Jewish rye had become soggy by the time I took the first bite. I mean, it goes without saying that the sandwich would have been 3 times better had I sat down immediately and had it. Again, all things considered, it was a perfectly good sandwich. One interesting thing was that I had never been to an establishment that included a half sour pickle instead of a normal one and gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Pickles can be a hit or a miss for me. I like my pickles to be crunch, but some places offer overripened ones that become borderline mushy. Schmaltz's half sour pickle was not overly salty or sour, making it very attractive for me. The more I'm thinking about it, I'm convinced that I'll have to go back and try their #14 Sloppy Paul, which is the corned beef with sauerkraut, which is another favorite of mine. And this time, I'll be sure to dine in and give another review of it to see how much I like them better.

Maybe the bread wasn't fresh, the lunch meat tasted processed, or the quality just wasn't consistent. Tony & Tina's Deli is the first place that has truly become my go-to. I absolutely love their subs, especially the Brayden. I always order the large, and it's packed with so much fresh meat that I can give a generous portion of the turkey to my toddler as a snack and still have a full sandwich left for myself. That's saying something! Their potato salad is also outstanding. It tastes homemade, not like something scooped out of a mass-produced container. It's exactly the kind of potato salad you picture enjoying on a hot summer day. What really sets Tony & Tina's apart is the customer service. The owners genuinely care about their customers.
