Positives: Quality of the haircut is outstanding. The barbers are very knowledgeable and they use that knowledge to provide you with the best cut that you can possibly receive. Atmosphere of the barbershop is that of a jokey, fun, lively atmosphere with a varying range of conversation such as sports talk to everyday life issues/problems. The work area is clean and tidy and their tools are clean as well. I have seen people of all ethnicities come in, explain what they want, and get exactly what they were requesting. I mention that to reiterate that these barbers are skillful in their craft and capable of providing you with a solid haircut each and every time. Potential issues for some customers: Sometimes there are expletives thrown around during joking and laughing but never in a demeaning or disrespectful way. Sometimes a barber may show up a little off schedule. Besides those two issues, I honestly can't think of any other issues. Rico, Mike, Chris and this other barber that's there (if you're reading this, sorry I forgot your name) can and will take care of your every haircut need and do so effectively and to your exact liking. Strongly recommend this barbershop to any and everyone.

This place is truly an old fashioned barbershop, which is what I like so much about it (cash only). I've enjoyed hearing Mike tell the history of his shop and the relationships he has made over the years. He has had the shop since the early 1970s. When my son and I first started going there (7 years ago) it was Mike and 3 other barbers working there...now it's just Mike and Laverne. When we first started going there it was a challenge to drag my son in there for a haircut, now he willingly goes and brags about how good his hair looks afterwards. If you are the type of customer who appreciates nostalgia, no frills, and a good hair cut at a fair price ($15) this is the place for you. Also, Laverne is quite the story teller and I've enjoyed overhearing her conversations with others even if she is not cutting my hair. These types of barbershops are becoming a thing of the past, which Mike and Laverne will attest to.

There was another gentleman in the waiting area and there were two barbers working on two other patrons. After a few minutes of sitting there I believe it was the owner came over to me and informed me that he could not take any more customers for the day. Again, there was one person sitting in the waiting area, it was 2:45 and they close at 4 o'clock. He suggested I try again tomorrow. I went back to my regular place and got my haircut.

Yes, I have had longer hot towel finishes (as another review mentioned), but I'm not coming for the towel, I am coming for a quality haircut, which is exactly what I received. My personal experience found the negative reviews to be misleading and not accurate. All of this to say, I have found my barber in Tulsa now, and I will definitely be going back to Tom the next time I need a cut!
