Our unit was 15 years old and we had planned to replace it within the next two years. It was determined that our thermostat had failed. The recent storm had damaged the inside blower. the price to repair an old unit with potential failures convinced us to replace with a new system. Kyle came out Monday Morning as scheduled and sat down to explain the system options. We chose an option. he scheduled our installation for the next morning. Britton, Ryan and Greg were here promptly at 8:30 am to start. They introduced themselves and started to work. I cannot say enough great compliments about these three techs. professional, courteous and diligent. The old unit was dismantled in short order and the new system installation was staged out. The three were a team and worked at accomplishing different aspects of the install. Our new system was up and running by 2:30 pm! Britton explained our new system operation clearly. What amazed/pleased me was the attention to detail, the clean finish of the outside and inside units. Ryan installed wood molding around the inside air return base. I hired this company to clean my air ducts. The technician told me I had mold and bacteria in my AC…read moreunit and recommended that I purchase UV lights from them. I chose to get a second opinion. The other company noted (see photos) that the area around the vent was still dirty, and at least one of the vents (which had recently been painted and had unbroken paint on the screws) looked like it hadn't been opened. When I brought this up to the company and requested a refund, I was told that I had paid for a basic cleaning, which covered the interior of the duct lines but didn't include vents and covers, and that those were covered under a deep cleaning service. I was not informed that there was a difference in cleaning types when setting up the service, and I noted that their website didn't specify this, either. Specifically, their website states, "Utilizing advanced equipment and industry-approved techniques, our skilled technicians meticulously clean all components of your duct system. This includes the supply and return ducts, registers, grills, diffusers, and associated parts." Their website also uses the phrase "beyond basic cleaning" to describe their sanitation and deodorization services--not their register/grille cleaning. After I pointed out via text that their website doesn't distinguish between basic and deep cleaning, I was ghosted. If you're going to pay for this, be aware of what you're getting.

Unresolved permitting issue…read more I hired Sunshine Cooling Solutions to replace two HVAC systems at my Clermont home in June 2026. After the installation, I discovered that the required mechanical permit had not been obtained. I contacted the owner, Sam McClure. After I provided the applicable permitting requirements from the City of Clermont, he acknowledged in writing that an After-the-Fact Mechanical Permit should be obtained and said he would begin the process. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue, no permit application has been submitted. The City of Clermont independently confirmed that no permit application had been filed. I have filed complaints with DBPR and the BBB and notified Daikin because I originally selected Sunshine through Daikin's dealer locator. Based on my experience, I recommend that homeowners ask about permitting requirements and verify that required permits have actually been obtained before hiring this contractor.
