My experience with Dr. Jan Hunt and Billings Clinic was deeply disappointing and left me feeling dismissed and unsupported during an extremely difficult pregnancy. I had a documented history of severe hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) and repeatedly reported vomiting 5-10 times a day, constant nausea, dehydration, debilitating fatigue, and inability to function normally. Despite this, my symptoms were largely treated with suggestions such as ginger, small sips of water, and motion-sickness bands. My condition was not formally diagnosed as hyperemesis until May 8, 2026--just three days before we discovered my daughter had passed in utero. IV hydration and more comprehensive treatment came only at the very end of my pregnancy. I also experienced significant failures in follow-through. Prenatal genetic testing was ordered and my blood was drawn, but the sample was never sent to the laboratory. We were not informed until months later, when it was too late to meaningfully replace the testing. I had an EPDS score indicating significant emotional distress, yet the promised counseling follow-up did not occur during my pregnancy. When my illness made it impossible to continue working, I requested medical leave documentation. Despite Dr. Hunt's own notes acknowledging severe fatigue, nausea, and vomiting, she declined to complete the paperwork and told us doing so would be "fraud." I ultimately lost my job. Most devastatingly, at approximately 35 weeks, my daughter was found to have no heartbeat. I understand that there was no established cause of her death and am not claiming that any individual caused it. My concern is that throughout the pregnancy, the severity of my illness and its impact on my ability to function were repeatedly reported but never resulted in the coordinated, high-risk care I expected given my history. After my daughter's death, I was told that in a future pregnancy the clinic would document my HG, begin treatment and IV hydration earlier, consider additional medications, arrange counseling, refer to maternal-fetal medicine, and provide closer monitoring. Those are the interventions I had repeatedly needed while my daughter was alive. My experience involved too many missed opportunities, poor communication, inadequate follow-through, and a lack of compassion. I hope Billings Clinic takes these concerns seriously and makes meaningful changes so other patients with severe pregnancy complications receive timely, coordinated care. read more

I scheduled an appointment two months ago because I need to be seen by a doctor for a handful of health issues that I need advice on and possibly referrals. Don't you dare call me and tell me that I'm early for my annual and to reschedule.. you absolutely do not get to dictate my health. The fact is this is the second time I've had a hard time getting in to see a doctor that I do like. The docs are great in my experience and I hate to say that I'm gonna have to find another facility to go to, unfortunately that's the way it's gonna have to be. read more

Usually employees here are generally nice but today at the check in office I had the worst experience with the lady checking me in. She was so rude and demanding. I was trying to be so understanding and nice and trying not to take her treatment towards me personally. I understand it can't be easy working in healthcare and dealing with insurance stuff and people but I had everything I needed and if she would have have just taken a moment to listen to me and what I had with me check in would have been quick and easy. It's already hard to come into medical offices because of people like this. I have chronic health issues and I unfortunately have to visit my doctor often. Needless to say I will try to avoid her at all costs for check in. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. the absolute worst doctors i have ever met! they do not care about you what so ever! i went here because i was having issues hearing out of my right ear and was wondering if its ear wax built up, she said no everything's fine she doesn't know why. i ended up having a ruptured eardrum a few days after and lost my hearing completely in my right ear. i am only 18 years old and im already deaf in one ear. i also went in for other reasons, they told me its cat allergies. i asked how long i can use flonase for and he said forever, it doesn't cause any issues. the box literally says it causes glaucoma and multiple other issues if you use it longer than 6 months! he gave me a steroid cream for eczema told me i can put it on my face if i need, meanwhile the box says DO NOT PUT IT ON YOUR FACE. it causes skin thinning, visible broken capillaries, and striae which is lines on your face. i can't express into words how much hate i have for this place. they are the worst, most heartless doctors i have ever met. they don't care about anything except getting you out as fast they can. they have a 10 minute limit with each patient and THAT IS RIDICULOUS. read more

I had a procedure done at Billings Clinic in Bozeman. The procedure went well, and I paid the entire bill over the phone before it was due, and was told they would be immediately sending me a receipt with the insurance codes. I needed it so I could get reimbursed through my employer's health plan. I have called them three additional times over the last three months and was assured each time that a bill complete with insurance codes would be in the mail, but I have yet to receive anything. They were timely with sending me the bill, but they cannot send a receipt. I have been told that there is nothing available online and the only other way I could get it is to do the five hour round trip drive to Billings to pick it up in person. If you need a detailed bill from them, make sure you get it BEFORE paying it! read more

I see several docs at Billings Clinic, every one of them is really great. I come from the Midwest so I am very "spoiled" when it comes to health care. But, everyone at Billings Clinic is very empathetic, patient and understanding. I am so happy they have come to Bozeman. I do not mind driving to Livingston if it is late or driving to Billings, but having their clinic nearby and an urgent care makes me feel more secure. read more

The Neurologist at Billings Clinic Bozeman denied my referral saying I was receiving adequate care at previous neurologist. How he made this determination is beside me. This was told to me today when I called into their referral dept and is untrue. I have been searching for a new neurologist since June with no luck. I am disgusted with the fact that their staff who handles the neurology referrals lied and said that they contacted me 3 times and sent a letter. This was after they denied even having my referral 4 times. My best friend sent in the referral personally as she works at Billings clinic Broadwater. I have had no contact with them about the denial of my referral. I have a complex neurological issue and this neurologist denied me care based off of miscommunication with the Billings Clinic neurosciences department who handles the referrals. Rather than correct my issue I was pretty much told there was nothing that could be done. How convenient. It's disgusting how this all played out. I wouldn't even want to see this piece of shit neurologist after all of this anyways. read more

Have had great experiences both with pediatrics and OB. Everyone in OB is great and Dr Handlin in peds is wonderful. My only gripe with them is the difference in office visit charge for a 10 minute difference they charged me over 100 dollars. I was not aware that a "longer" visit would cost me so much. After all I am there for health reasons so if we are going through the motions trying to figure out what is going on with my kids, id rather not feel overly rushed trying to get out of the office due to a horrendous up charge fee for having the Dr 10 minutes longer. It would have also been nice to be told that they charge the extra fee as well. read more

Cardiologist dept is lacking a good cardiologist and adequent equiptment for imaging tests. Cardiologist has just 4 years experience and does not seem to want to be there. Not very friendly. I did not connect with her at all. Look for another cardiology dept with more experienced professionals. read more

***************************5 STARS*************************** BILLINGS CLINIC BOZEMAN HISTORY: Breast Cancer Diagnosis (Stage 2) at Bozeman Health in 2014 where I received initial surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, I swiftly moved my care to Swedish Cancer Institute in Seattle (late 2014 thru 2022) where I have received excellent care. As a result in difficulty traveling to Seattle in 2023 (unrelated to my health), I hoped Billing Clinic Bozeman might provide amazing doctors and services in a positive environment which I had become accustomed to during visits to the Swedish Cancer Institute. I was doubtful... I met with my new Oncologist Dr. Mohamed El-Tarabily last week. What a compassionate and patient human being. He listened patiently to all my concerns. He ordered bloodwork, Mammogram and Breast MRI. He ordered a CT Scan (head to pelvis), which I don't believe had been done for years. I feel confident that many cancer patients loose sleep worrying about metastasis and dreaded the CT results. I received results of my bloodwork within 24 hours (except one sent to Mayo which arrived days later). My Mammogram and CT (w/contrast) were done yesterday morning, with brand new, state of the art equipment. This morning, less than 24 hours later, I received all results. Billings Clinic has a wonderful online portal which is easy to access. A big thank you to the nice lady at the Radiology Desk Check In yesteday (3/20/2023) for setting this up for me before I left who kindly explained how the site would work. Super friendly site!! IF you feel your health care is not what you expect, make an appointment with the Billings Clinic Bozeman. The record department transferred my records with very little effort (on my part).
