This castle is a gorgeous setting for a wedding. The ceremony was outside in the garden. Appetizers were served on the patio and the reception was on the main floor. I was happy that I ventured upstairs to see more of the castle. The velvet room was perfect for the bride to get ready in. The food was excellent. The highlights were the filet mignon cooked perfectly medium rare with fresh green beans and mashed potatoes. The Italian desserts that covered table after table in a large room outside of the bar was phenomenal. We all had s blast packing up a box or two for a special someone. read more

Came here for a wedding and thought the venue was spectacular. The building is very unique looking, with the only downside being so close to the main road. The interior is very medieval feeling with an interesting collection of antiques. The getting ready suite for the bridal party is large and comfortable and makes for one of a kind photos. The venue is a comfortable size for the 150 people in attendance, but maybe a little cramped for the indoor ceremony/cocktail hour. The bathroom is kind of small with just two stalls. The on-site catering/food is great! I loved the pasta with vodka sauce appetizer, and I got a delicious prime rib for my entree. Overall the food is great. read more

I just had my wedding here and I can't say enough great things about the place. The venue is beyond stunning! Every picture turns out beautifully because everywhere you look is something interesting, from the ballroom to dining areas to the bar, upstairs, and outside. The family who owns and runs it are incredible: warm, communicative and very detail oriented. They want your event to go as well as you do. They lay out every package in detail and it's up to you to choose extras such as an extra hour of open bar or a carving station, which is great because you can tailor exactly what you want. The prices were very fair for including all food, alcohol, cake plating, the space, and the day-of coordinator. Everything went smoothly--Lisa was our coordinator and contact from the start and she was amazing. She answered every one of my texts and emails with calm and professionalism. Victoria, our day of wedding coordinator was amazing and she planned out every detail, even wrangling my niece and nephews for their part in the ceremony. The servers were also exceptional--my bridal party wandered the whole upstairs during cocktail hour and we were served food and drink the whole time. My guests could not stop raving about the venue and food. I'm kicking myself for being too busy to finish my plate. Tables were called for the buffet quickly and efficiently. Food was warm and did not run out. We spent the little extra for the grand suite and it was so worth it. Absolutely beautiful. My family and my husband are already talking about how we can find another excuse to have an event there. We are so beyond happy we chose to have our wedding here! read more

I just had my wedding there yesterday. Best day of my life, the venue is beyond beautiful, the bridal suite is AMAZING and huge (I had 13 girls in there and 5 vendors for hair and make up) everyone fit so comfortably. The food was catered from La Luna it was excellent! Victoria was my wedding coordinator and she was beyond amazing. Easy to work with, friendly, great at communicating, and put all of my concerns to ease! She made sure my husband and I had food and drinks the entire night! I appreciate everything she did for us and I would highly recommend using this venue to anyone!! read more

Gorgeous location but terrible food. I would not recommend this venue unless you just care about the setting. Appetizers tasted like they were just reheated from frozen, flounder had no flavor, potatoes tasted like instant potatoes, asked for diet coke, served pepsi or generic cola without being told, If you are a foodie, eat before you go and just enjoy the decor. read more

Wow! Bill Miller's Castle is just amazing. We had our son's wedding here this past weekend, and were absolutely amazed by the beauty and charm of the facility, and the professionalism of the staff. Everything was on-time, the castle was spotless, and all the guests raved about the venue, the bar service, and especially the food. The appetizers were amazing, and the food...the buffet was perfect, with everything not only hot, but perfectly seasoned, from the vegetables to the chicken francaise to the beef & mushrooms. Our family is large, and we've had a LOT of weddings lately. We heard all night long that this wedding, and this venue, was the best by far. Just can't say enough how impressed we were with the stunning charm of the castle, and the wonderful staff who made everybody at ease from the moment they arrived. I would wholeheartedly recommend that anyone planning a wedding visit Bill Miller's Castle, and see for yourself just how amazing this unique venue is. Good food. Open bar was not impressive. No shots or strong drinks. Wedding area was too close to traffic. Glad I was closer. Very beautiful place. I can see why people like to get married here. I must say this was the only venue I looked at because once you see this place you cannot use any other. They did everything for me - I worried about NOTHING on my day. They know what they are doing and had so many helpful tips that made the day run perfectly. Secondly this venue is beautiful. We had to do our wedding outside in a tent even not in the gorgeous interior and it was still beautiful!! Worth every single penny. Also please pay for the bridal suite - it made getting ready comfortable and fun! And a perfect storage place during the reception! read more

We had our wedding at Bill Miller's Castle 6/15/19 and the Bill Millers Castle team truly made it the best day ever. From the first day, they made the planning easy with so much detail in the finances, scheduling, and most of all they made us feel comfortable. Victoria answered all of my questions any day of the week and updated me on what should be done next and were able to easily make appointments with me to stop by the castle. Rehearsal was flawless and very direct with the schedule; I've been to so many weddings before where rehearsal is the one day thats very messy and I was so happy that the venue I chose was very precise with everything and also made me so excited at each moment. I was reminded by Lisa so many times to just take in the moment and breathe, and that really meant alot to me. When it was finally wedding day, the coordinators were there for me any time I needed, set up my day more beautiful than I could've ever imagined, brought me beverages, reminded me to take in the moments and eat my dinner haha, and helped make my night I'd never forget. On another note, the castle's decor is incredible, so authentic and ornate with a photo opp in every corner. I can't thank the coordinators and other vendors enough, they really made our wedding incredible! read more

I considered getting married here. Better yet, I really wanted this to be the place. Unfortunately the owner aka the coordinator is a snob. She was obnoxious from the very beginning, and nickel and dimed everything she could. I'm honestly surprised she didn't charge by minute just to take a tour. The lowest package you can get is 110$ not including tax for a three hour wedding reception (maybe four). For the $15,000 your wedding is going to cost here (just for the venue), she needs a reality check. Have heard horror stories from friends about cold food and dirty employees. Wanted 20$ per table to RENT lanterns for your table. Get a grip. The only reason anyone get married here, is because it is truly beautiful inside and in the back. read more

I haven't dealt with the Castle myself so this is strictly from the point of an "attendant" at an event. My company has had our annual Holiday party at Bill Miller's Castle for the last four years. The place is pretty cool and definitely has the rustic feel...I mean, c'mon, it's a castle. The food is usually pretty good - done by La Luna and we all know my review of them (if not, go check it out). DJ is outsourced also so I can't comment. The Bartender is an older woman and is very nice (after you drop her a $20 for the evening). The drinks (for open bar) are pretty weak...unless you have something straight, you probably won't even catch a buzz (I haven't in four years). Other than that, the place is nice...clean, pretty dark...and I'm pretty sure there was some kind of creature running around the posts in the ceiling...mouse..rat? IDK read more

I attended a wedding here and everything went WRONG. -The host forgot microphones for the Bride and Groom, - the Announcer decided to call tables to get in line for dinner - unfortunately he forgot how many tables there were so it took an hour and a half (literally) for table 9 to be called = seriously? I WAS STARVING MORON! -The entrees as a buffet style over burners but the Chicken and Pasta were cold, instead of hot. We were afraid of food poisoning. - There wasn't enough food to go around - Entrée or Desserts. The entire thing was an absolute disaster! So much for that package deal, and the wedding! The design was pretty, there was plenty of room but the staff and their delivery absolutely ruined the one-time event. My disappointment surpasses words. read more

What a fun and unique venue, especially decorated for the holidays. It reflects the TLC that the Miller family has put into it. Our event came on the heels of a busy Thanksgiving season, so there were a few last-minute billing and menu snafus in the rush, but at the end of the day, our guests had a delicious meal and a terrific party. read more

Great location but the service was awful. The Microphone didn't work so no one could hear the people speaking and that was just the start. The DJ said we couldn't eat until our table was called. That would have been fine except an hour later we were all still being force fed cheap wine and still our table hadn't been called for basic bland food. It wasn't surprising when Guests got sick. This is the first time that I have EVER looked forward to writing a review. I will attempt to keep this brief, but I can't make any promises. From the moment we walked through the majestic doorway where we were greeted by the friendliest, and most down to earth duo (Lisa Miller and Victoria Smith) to sharing the moment with Victoria seconds before I walked down the aisle (to the motown classic "Stand By Me" accompanied by my dad sporting a hawaiian shirt) to say "I do!" we were treated with kindness, respect, and kept at ease with lighthearted humor to settle nerves on such an important day. The rustic, badass, open-spaced castle with endless angles to take the perfect selfie, is just scratching the surface of why this place is one-of-a-kind. The dance floor is big, and durable (which was extremely important to us twerkers of the world trying to go viral). The food? UNREAL. Lisa & staff make it a priority to ensure the selection is precisely what you are looking for. Now, I can't leave out the grand bridal suite- this room is fit for the most important pre-game of you and your maids' lives and created yet again the perfect space to spend the last minutes being a single lady. There is not enough room on this page to express how the seasoned wedding babes (Lisa and Victoria) provided us with the ideal service for our wedding. Where these women stand out is here: they leave the "saleswoman" crap in the parking lot and never try to lead you in a direction you're not comfortable going in. They are willing to truly listen to you, and help make the best day of your life. We will never forget the generosity and flexibility the BMC staff showed us and will continue to spread the word of how phenomenal our experience with them was. I have rarely been to an event held in a venue as spectacular as Bill Miller's Castle In Branford. Inside and outside no matter where you look you find something interesting and lovely. The food served comes from a special Italian restaurant in the area, specially prepared custom to order for the party who uses Bill Miller's Castle. I've learned that they can do corporate events so I plan to tell my employer Because I'm tired of having our corporate events in the typical "corporate" venues. This is truly a special place. Our experience at Bill Millers was top notch. We don't have one bad thing to say about the venuw and staff. I am from CT but the USNAVY has brought me to San Diego. My wife is born and raised in San Diego and we wanted a wedding on the east coast. Bill Millers was the first and only venue we went to. We were sold when we walked in the door. We wanted a all inclusive venue due to us living on the west coast. Everything was included except the dj and they recommended some for us. We used one they recommended and he was amazing everyone loved him. The food was top quality from the begining to end. Normally wedding food isn't that good. This place is the exception, i had filet mignon and lobster tail for dinner it was cooked to perfection. The staff was so helpful and polite, Shari was organizing everything she did so much and made our life so easy. Everyone that attended told us "Best wedding ever." ABSOLUTELY WORTH EVERY PENNY!! Victoria made sure my husband and I were taken care of on our wedding day (11/24/18) from tying my hair back and pinning boutonnieres to making sure myself and more importantly, my husband had a full meal before guests bombarded us. Our photos are unique, every guest has complimented the food & the venue. I have heard stories of my guests bragging about how amazing it all was in response to hearing of other wedding experiences. We paid extra for the Bridal Suite and that was the best decision ever. My bridesmaids, a couple kids, MUA, hair and family were all very comfortable in the castle leading up to the wedding. I don't live around Branford so I wasn't very familiar with vendors in the area. I attended a Bridal Show and ended up with everything I need, plus discounts for finding them at the venue. Victoria made the whole process as easy as it could possibly be, which is one of the top reasons I would pay the money to get married here again. read more

We chose Bill Millers as the venue for our school reunion. Having planned and hosted a number of events over the years I was absolutely delighted with how helpful Ms. Miller was to work with. She explained everything, made a number of excellent suggestions and we went away from our meetings feeling quite confident we'd made the correct choice. On the evening of the reunion things went even better than we'd hoped. The DJ she suggested was marvelous and eventually muted the music a bit as it was obvious we were all more interested in catching up than dancing. The food was good, and the room flow worked beautifully. No one sat for more than five minutes with a dirty plate or an empty glass in front of them, the staff kept everything cleared away. (and this is a HUGE pet peeve of mine, I really dislike having a dirty plate in front of me). We all found the bartender absolutely charming, she never forgot what a previous order had been but did not assume it was what we wanted the next time, instead she'd say-' would you care for another beer, or something else?'. We also found the location to be very convenient, we had a number of people travelling from out of state and it was very easy for everyone to find. The building is absolutely gorgeous and beautifully kept and maintained, and the outside grounds are remarkable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a venue for an event. Everything about our reception was wonderful. Everyone on the staff is extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. Lisa was great to work with and she took care of all of our needs, including offering her expertise about weddings in general, which we greatly appreciated. The castle was absolutely beautiful, and all of our guests raved about how unique our wedding was. The food was amazing and the portions were huge, no one left hungry. My husband and I are looking forward to returning for another one of the events they host, such as Valentine's Day or New Year's Eve. read more

Excellent food from La Luna Very sweet and attentive wedding planner Cheri Beautiful place- very unique and can be dressed up to meet your personal taste Below is the review that I posted on projectwedding.com My husband was dead-set that he did not want to have our reception at a typical "wedding factory." When we looked at Bill Millers Castle for our July 3 2011 wedding, he fell in love with the rustic character of the place. When we went to La Luna to try the food I was sold as well. We had a wonderful experience! Cheri, the owner was personally available whenever I needed her (and I emailed and called A LOT). Our day ran so smoothly. Cheri and her assistant Lauren met every one of my requests, and our guests ate, drank, and danced the night away on the huge dance floor. I cant wait to see our pictures. I will say that the place is a little dark and masculine. I brought in sheer purple table overlays, purple uplighting, and lots of crystals including big crystal trees to replace the silk flowers (not my style), and it totally gave the place a feminine romantic feel within the rustic setting. We had our cocktail hour out on the patio, which was awesome, and the guys were out there all night long at the cigar bar we set up. The food was excellent, the service was great, and my whole day was a dream come true. If you decide to go with Bill Millers, I strongly recommend J Cakes Bakery (which Cheri will tell you) they did a great job on our cake. I also recommend bringing in some of your own touches to make the place more romantic and soften in up. read more

We went to Bill Miller's for Mother's Day Brunch, 2015. We tried it last year and we were totally impressed. The castle is nice and the kids get a kick out of it. Last year it was catered by La Luna and the food was AMAZING. This year, we didn't check to make sure it was still catered by La Luna, we just assumed it was . . . and you know what that means. Unfortunately for us, because it was so good last year, we invited 14 people to attend this year, several coming from NYC. It was so embarrassing when the food was just not good, especially for the price. (almost $50 after tax and tip PER adult, you do the math). The meal options were limited and the food was not well prepared. There were very few kid options (no pancakes, chicken nuggets, etc). Even the OJ was terrible. It was clear other people had checked who was providing the food because the crowd was much less this year. I would totally go to Bill Miller's again IF the food was catered by a restaurant that I knew and liked. read more
