MAINLY A REVIEW OF NICOLE GANGLOFF, Bill Baren's DISCIPLE, but also the DANGEROUS, well-hidden evil in The Big Shift and Bill Baren
A spiritual friend recommended Nicole Ganloff's life coaching work to me a couple years ago. I was so impressed by Nicole's positive attitude. She said amazing, beautiful things. She had studied with Bill Baren, at the Big Shift. I hired her to be my life / business coach. My goal was to be a life coach. I started feeling stressed in my work with Nicole soon after we started. I paid her $7,000 to work with me for one year. She promised to help me overcome writer's block and finish my self-help book. She promised to teach me coaching techniques.
Soon after she received her money, she started pressuring me to get my friends to hire me to coach them. I said I wanted to learn coaching techniques from her first. She said I'd learn them by seeing her work with me. A flippant dismissal of her promise to teach me coaching techniques. I said I wanted her help in overcoming writer's block/procrastination in writing my book. Nicole said I should download a day planner for that. She said I could worry about the book later because a book is a good marketing tool for a life coach, but for now it wasn't important. A flippant dismissal of her promise to help me overcome blocks/procrastination and get my book written.
Instead of helping me with the two HUGE goals that led me to hire her, she began teaching me the Amway method of getting life coaching clients, by networking through my friends. I realize now it was exactly how I became a client for her - my friend recommended her to me. I trusted my friend so I didn't even get a written contract. Big mistake! Always get a clear and detailed contract.
I wanted to be coachable, but Nicole's insistence that I charge clients a thousand dollars to work with me for one weekend, when I had not even coached even one person yet, caused me a TON of stress. Nicole said it was my lack of "abundance thinking" that was blocking me. Luckily I was in a college course for Life Skills Coaching at the same time. I decided to ask for my teacher's advice. She listened to my concerns and then said it was not a matter of me being uncoachable - it was a matter of me not wanting to do something unethical.
Nicole's entire focus was on marketing -- marketing coaching skills I did not even HAVE yet. Anyone can be a warm fuzzy listener but for a thousand dollars people deserve someone who truly knows how to teach them life-changing stuff. Nicole did NOT know how to teach me life-changing stuff but apparently Bill Baren and the Big Shift had brainwashed HER into having no qualms about charging me $7,000 for her incompetence. She also had no qualms about her heinous bait and switch!
After a lot of angst, I told Nicole I wanted to stop working with her and I asked for a partial refund. We'd worked together 4 months. Nicole refused to give me a refund and lied and said we'd agreed to work together for 6 months. Always get a written contract, no matter how "spiritual" the person seems!!
Beneath the pretty New Age speak of organizations like the Big Shift, and people like Bill Baren and Nicole Gangloff, there is a well-hidden undercurrent of greed. They use their "spirituality" to slough off responsibility for their unethical actions and to gaslight their victims. The key thing missing in all their words and actions: basic decency and ethics.
How many trusting disciples is the Big Shift brainwashing to spread this ripple of greed-driven mistreatment throughout the world?
If you want to know how to market your product and make lots of money without being hindered by your conscience, I'm sure that Bill Baren, the Big Shift and maybe even Nicole Gangloff will be able to help you with that and happy to take your money. Although, it did seem strange that Nicole wanted to use the tired old Amway method of network marketing, in the digital age where one innovative video can go viral overnight.
