I felt pressured, not cared about as a customer, not educated on what bike to get and honestly I found an awesome used bike at a different shop. I had a different idea on what type of store this way, thought they would have more used bikes and be more supportive of their customers. I honestly got a really negative vibe each time I went into this store.

During the fit I was told that my bike could not be adjusted to the proper position. After some adjustments I rode the bike in its "marginal position" and was quoted a new bike build to improve my situation. After careful consideration I decided to bite the bullet and purchased a new bike from Joe, and this is where the service deteriorated, and my frustration began. When quoted I was told that the lead time was 3-4 weeks and with that i paid in full for the bike (+6500 dollars). on October 24th, mistake number one: Fast forward I finally took receipt of the bike on January 18th: During this time, I was told that components were on back order (even though these components appeared readily available via multiple online sources) During this time there was no proactive communication and only replies to my inquiries (while holding my 6500 dollars). If I hadn't paid in full, I would have cancelled and purchase the bike elsewhere. In response to my frustration, I was offered an upgraded set of wheels (which still to this day have not been delivered) I have now ridden the bike a number of miles and checked in with Joe multiple times informing him that I have been experiencing pain when riding that I have never felt on my old bike. LOL I was told to "do more stretching". Again, I ride well over a thousand miles a year and nothing changed, except the bike fit. When I reached out last, I was told the bike shop was closed for relocation and that once open Joe would reach out to "recheck the fit". Well, I see now the bike shop is open and operating; still no call, still no upgraded wheels, and I am done. I will be happy to pay another shop for a professional experience. Buyer beware nothing about this experience is professional. Just a guy who has some equipment with a goal of selling you a high-priced bike. BTW, all of my strava times were faster and I had no pain on my 1500-dollar Fuji bike, the new bike has done nothing to enhance my riding experience, just caused pain from a poor fit. If there is any question about the facts in this review: I have ALL of the emails to substantiate my experience.

I ended up learning how to remove my rear wheel and install a new belt. However I had trouble reattaching the cable onto the internal gear. When Kevin started Terrapin Bicycles, he helped me a great deal with my Priority Current and getting a new motor for it. Years later, I remember his generosity. I called up the shop and nearing closing time, Brie, the bike mechanic said to come in and he'll help out. In 15 minutes, he'll got my bike in top shape. It's so important to find "your guy". Terrapin Bicycles is incredible in their service, knowledge, and relationship with the community. Thank the bike gods for them.

Rented 2 electric bikes for a half day today for about $200 total. After some more back and forth, they switched out the bike for a larger one. Second, the saddle bags on my bike were not cleaned out before my rental - there were empty air cans, a chapstick and trash in the saddle bag. Last, and most offensive - while on my ride, I had an issue where the bike chain cover kept coming loose and the pedal would get caught on it mid rotation causing me to stop suddenly. I completed the ride and when I returned the bike, I mentioned it to the owner Mr. Robert Esti. He indicated that I may have done something to the part as it did not start out like that. I explained that nothing happened and it seemed to be spontaneous. He was rude, dismissive and did not address my concerns. For such a large price tag for rentals, this was not a good value for the experience - combined with the rude demeanor of Mr Esti- I recommend not using this location or the new location in Herndon.
