Now not everyone can be privy enough to have a bike, but just because you may not own 2 wheels, doesn't mean you can't hire them. Centennial Park Cycles offer people a wonderful opportunity to get back on a bike and enjoy... For those wanting to enjoy Centenial park, they actually have bikes to hire on the grounds. They are of good quality and there are different styles and sizes depending on your requirements. Bikes cost between $15 - $35 an hour.... and if you're feeling a little daggy why not get the Tandem bike ($25 and hour) or a 2 person pedal car ($35 an hour)

The provide helmets and rechargeable lights. The location is easy to get to and centrally located. The first day is expensive but long term rentals are very cheap. These guys are really into the no-nonsense riding. They've got heaps of different bikes for commuting, casual riding around, touring, cargo, you name it. They're not the place to go for a $10,000 carbon racer, but they're great for everyone else! In fact, if you're after a cargo/touring bike or related accessories, I haven't found anywhere else in Sydney that actually keeps stock of such things like Omafiets. They do all the usual things bike shops do (repairs, maintenance and all the everyday accessories), but also they do bike hire which is pretty cool, so if you're after a touring bike just for the week/end, or a cargo bike to move something a little big for your regular commuter it's a great way to try something new out.

The guys there seem to be on the ball, he grabbed the bike, had the tire off and checking within 5 minutes and had it back to me within 15 minutes. The best $20 I've spent! I need to learn how to do this myself at some point. However feel free to go to these pro's!!! Win!
The idea that a bike is the cheapest option of getting around is unfortunately false…read more Tires and tubes pop, brake and gear lines stretch, brakes wear, you need lights and bells and ultimately, you end up eating more food (that part is good). Recently, the persistent Sydney rain took a bit of a toll on my daily rider. It wasn't feeling right, and there was something up with the chain. Glow Worm is my local, so I popped in and made my best attempt at knowing what the parts of my bike are called (Did you know the bundles of gears at the back are called a "casette"?! Me either.) They could understand my poor cycling vernacular, and they were super helpful and accommodating. They taught me what things are called. I pretended I knew all along. As I sit here, struggling through separation anxiety as my bike still remains in their care, I can't fault them. At my last service I wasn't happy with how they had tuned my gears, so I went back and they cheerfully fixed them free of charge. Here's my advice: If you want to get into cycling, don't expect it to be cheap and have a helpful cycling shop like Glow Worm to keep you on the road. And don't wear spandex.

Divine providence intervened. I was walking past and I hear this Cuban music blaring, and a whole heap of cool bespoke built bikes hanging from the roof of this little hole in the wall mechanic shop. Ben's a great guy who loves what he does and really focuses on giving his customers a really good experience. Just did my fitting and I can honestly say it blows away any experience I've had in the past at a churn n' burn bike shop. He wouldn't let me go until he'd done everything he could. I'd highly recommend visiting him for a bike service, a fitting, repairs, or if you want a bespoke bike built to custom spec.

Update: Since…read morecontacting the store for feedback, the manager went out of his way to fix the situation by coming around my house to pick up the bike to take back to the store and fixing the remaining issues on the bike foc. He then brought it back to my house the next morning, all before business hours. I have to give credit to this effort and have since added 2 more stars to the original review. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I left my bike at the shop for servicing and I was advised that I will be contacted once the mechanic discussed what work was recommended. I was not contacted for over 2 weeks, during which I contacted the shop 3 times and was told each time that I will be contacted back by the mechanic who knew what was happening with the bike. When I was finally contacted 2 weeks later, I was told that work was completed and I was hit with a bill for over $1000. The shop had organised for both of my shocks to be serviced without me agreeing to the work. When I picked up the bike, I advised how disappointed I was and the staff apologetically advised that I will be contacted the next day to discuss what can be done about this. It has been over a week since then and I have not been contacted. I am extremely disappointed and I've lost confidence in 99 Bikes.
