Unless you are a big account, they hand you from one account manager to another, and when they don't communicate to each other and something goes wrong, they tell you its your problem and not theirs!! We paid hundreds of dollars for one sample, which they don't even bother cutting for you!! They make you pay the full amount upfront and then when you are done they will send you additional invoices even if it didn't turn out right and then if you don't pay they threaten you with debt collectors!! DONT GO TO CARBON8, there are a bunch of good printers out there! Go somewhere else!!

Which was a first for 'self-service' do it myself copying (which I am hopeless at! eeek - technology and me don't go well). Service with a smile is the hallmark of any passionate business. And I found On Time Printing for my stack of photocopies a nice find. And in Crows Nest too - my local village shopping precinct. The humongous office franchises like Officeworks may be cheaper - and I have enjoyed doing business with Officeworks but now they have closed down their Artarmon operation I was left high and dry. Pal my husband suggested I shop locally and try out his fave photocopying haunt On Time. In an effort to try to shrink my ecological footprint and not drive to try to save $2 and also to support small local businesses I'm recommending and going back to On Time Printing.

I sent my A5 prints (that I sell to clients) to these guys and followed up 2 days later just to see…read moreif they'd be ready soon (not in a rude way, I was just following up to make sure my email hadn't gone missing) - I was told they'd be ready in the afternoon, so I went down to collect them late in the afternoon only to be greeted by a rude mumbling man. I offered to come back the next day, but he said he could get the prints finished. He printed them in a few minutes - 2 up on an A5 sheet with my crop marks on them. I don't know about you but when I order an A5 print I expect it to be trimmed to A5 size?! He then said I had to draw the crop marks on properly if I wanted them trimmed.. err.. so I did, I came around the counter and drew the crop marks and he trimmed them. However, in trimming them he left marks all over one print. I paid almost $25 for three A5 prints, one with marks on them, and no plastic sleeve or packaging was given for me to put them into something while I walked back to the office, all with rude, horrible grumbly service. He did ask if I was a student (I'm not - I've been graduated from uni for 10 years now) and I can't help but think his rude service was because he thought I was a silly little student. Shame he won't be getting any of the business passed on from the clients I get. Worst customer service I've ever had.

Why? Tilly's now has more space to sell their quality arts and crafts supplies; and an abundance of it as well which is a good thing. Prices have come down slightly (although still a little bit pricey) and artists get more of a choice of paints and different canvas sizes in particular. A great business to buy quality paints, canvas and cardboard. Why bother going to the newsagencies nearby to buy cardboard when you can buy some tough, quality cardboard here. Love the Tilly's signage on the storefront, and just the shopfront overall. Airy yet spacious in their new locale in tandem with friendly customer service. Just a great locale and really belongs in Rozelle, and will continue to do well for many years to come. For the highest quality art and craft supplies, and you don't mind spending a bit of money to paint something extraordinary (still turns out to be much cheaper than buying some art) for your living space, then Tilly's is your home.

Joe, the owner, accepted the job and completed it on time. It turned out exactly how I wanted it and he was cheaper than another local printer. I then wanted a brochure but was unsure of the design. Joe helped me with the design and printed them. They were ready on time and I didn't get charged for the design work. I continue to use Colonial because they are a small family firm and they do jobs quickly and they always do the job right.
