They had some of the most beautiful plant pots I'd seen waiting to be shelved as well - so I am VERY excited to see what they bring in. There is a lot of warmth in their space with natural woods and a stone or granite counter top (I didn't pay that close attention, just got a general feeling). There are large signs above head indicating what is in each section. Everything from the fine arts to graphic arts is conveniently labelled so you know exactly where to go. I had a couple of questions about products and the nice salesman was very eager to help. He told me everything a I needed to know and even gave me other options to choose from. I was very grateful for his help. I really enjoyed just browsing through this store at all that they have, even if I wasn't interested in buying most of it. I thoroughly enjoyed how organized they were. It made it easy to be in there.

Whether you're a professional or simply a crafty weekender, Deserres caters to every level of artiste. They truly have something for everyone! I was impressed to pop in last Saturday and find pink pipe cleaners. (A naturally integral component of my Halloween costume) Deserres also carries those stick on wall designs that you've probably started noticing. These are super funky and a nice alternative to sponge painting your bedroom, etc. They also come in a chalk board variety so your grocery list can be a tad more noticeable 2'x3' tacked to your wall. When you go in there's just so many adorable and unique witchy items to look at. Everything from jewelry, crystals, herbs, ornaments, bath bombs, tarot cards and much more. That, or a final destination where you can gorge on wine and carbs from the Bicycle Thief or Ristorante A Mano. Either way works marvelously! There's a cute fountain that attracts the usual crowd of running toddlers, a nice café for summer drinks, art, crafts, fashion, jewelry and tons more in this handful of local boutiques. Day or night, it's a lovely spot for a European getaway without the passport hassle or expensive flights! My favourite thing, though, has to be running into friends who are all trying to make it in to Bishop's Cellar before closing time. There's something so delightfully classy about getting wasted when it all begins with a visit here :)

I wouldn't necessarily call myself a comic book fan but I love to look at the manga and figurines. I asked if they had any Archie comic books for sale and I was directed toward some and was told that they were selling old Archie books for $1.00 each. I couldn't believe my ears. I excitedly asked where I could find them and I bought five of them. I've loved the Archie books since I was a kid (before the terrible television show Riverdale came out). I thanked the store employee for being so helpful and he introduced me to their adorable dog who I now follow on Instagram. The dog's Instagram handle is @strangegromit. Please give this dog a follow. He's SO CUTE! While he isn't always at the store, if you go every day like I did while I was in Halifax, you're bound to run into him at some point.
