The building itself boasts a huge and historic watermill outside that used to function a few hundred years ago. The inside has now transformed into a variety of mini shops: barbershop, book shop, bridal shop, antique shops, and a garden center. There's also a cafe and tea spot. You never know what you'll find. If you have a spare 30 minutes and are in the area, stop by to walk around and smell the historic smells, learn about the watermill, and continue on your way. Tip: there were lots of books here for only £1. That's a win in my BOOK.

There are…read moreso many wonderful things to browse through from rolling pins, lace tablecloths, garden ornaments, beautifully crafted furniture and, my personal favourite, lots of lovely jewellery plus so much more. The owners are always so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough and so worth a visit.

This Tesco supermarket is great - huge selection of everything from meats and fish to specialties…read morelike meat pies and prepared meals, booze of every description, candy, fresh produce and all the way to clothes, electronics and the like. Always clean and always busy but plenty of staff so no long wait at the check-out. Interesting architecture, a previous review suggested that it used to be a railway station - Nope! It was the Kayser Bondor until the 1980's when it was bought by Tesco. Kayser Bondor made ladies stockings - but switched to making parachutes during World War II. Wish that we had selection like this in the USA!!!!

This Tesco's is a large Tesco Extra located on the old A505 just as you come into Baldock itself…read more The store front itself is not a modern one but it looks nicer because of it as its not just a glass front as most newer Tesco's are. As it is an Extra, it stocks everything from TV's to toothpaste, so everything you need is under one roof. The car park is large (and needs to be as it does get busy), and the store also contains a petrol garage.

In the Harpur shopping centre there are round 30 shops including Primark, Superdrug, Boots, Argos, Clintons, TK Maxx, 99p shop, Ann Summers, a few phone shops and several more. It's not very exciting at all! There is a spiral in the middle which leads down to the Harpur centre car park, WH Smiths and a sports shop. There are 2 different sets of toilets in this centre - but that's really the only good thing about it!
