Boots is the pharmacy/health and beauty equivalent of a supermarket. It's got a pharmacy section on…read morethe top floor, with pretty much every medicine you could think of and well-trained staff. The ground floor has health and beauty products ranging from sanitary products to bubble bath to make-up. Pretty much all mainstream brands are in here and Boots own-brand products are often exactly the same as more expensive equivalent brands, but half the price. They do a small range of food and drink for snacks and lunchtime, which tries to be healthy, but is just the same as you can get in most high street shops that are trying to diversify into lunches. Keep an eye out for lunch deals where you can get a sandwich, snack and drink combo deal for a good price.

So off to Boots for some great smelly soap & shampoo - I like their Boots Brand Lilac fragrance the best And while you're there, pick up some water or some fun nail polish, or a 220v hairdryer.... or whatever Boots has it all!

I managed to get a new cheap boots hairdryer from here for under £10. They also do prescriptions as I think most boots do. There is not usually a queue and you can normally get them quite quickly. The advantage card points are great, the only thing is you have to be able to pay the full price of the product with points, you cant do part payment.

I've been trying to be very patient with this store over the past year as its the closest pharmacy…read morewith decent hours, but I have to say, it's really quite awful. The people are friendly enough if you ever get to talk to them, but they don't answer the phone. If you can even get through - it gives the engaged signal more often than not! - the pharmacy team doesn't answer the phone for hours and hours. You can call repeatedly and just sit and listen to it ring and nobody answers about 90% of the time. I have a small child in a stroller so I have to use the lift to get to the pharmacy, and about 50% of the time when we go, the lift is broken. Again, the staff are very friendly and try to be helpful when they let us use the freight elevator, but it's dark and screechingly loud, so the baby pretty much screams for a good 15 minutes after that. It's gotten so bad now that if she sees we're going back to that other elevator, she starts having an immediate meltdown. This pharmacy offers "automatic" repeat prescription service, but it is NEVER automatic. You have to call them and badger them to actually get it repeated (and when they don't answer the phone, that's very difficult and can take DAYS OF CALLING). Even once they do get the prescription in order, they don't send the text that it's ready for days and days. Sometimes I've called, confirmed my prescription has been sitting for days, I come and collect it, and then two days later I get the text saying it's ready. I've had them test text me in the store and it works, so it's not my phone. It's something in their system, or else a human is not marking something for a text to go out, or something. Really poor service for those of us who need our regular medications. If they weren't affiliated with my clinic, I'd leave and never return. In fact I'm thinking if I can't get this current phone call through by noon, I'm just going to leave. I've really had it. Not answering the phone is unacceptable.

I find this store a good place to shop as not only is everything set out in a way where everything is found easily, but also it is also a lot cheaper than certain other stores. It has every basic cosmetic need and despite it being much cheaper, the quality of the make-up is as good as the more expensive version found in other shops and the store is never over crowded. All the staff in any superdrug that I have been to have always been kind, warm, helpful and friendly towards me.

Queues can take a little while in here on weekends so bear this in mind when you pop in. I love this store for testing out make-up because where it is situated means it gets a lot of natural sunlight during the day which is very important to use when looking for foundation shades. Because of this it negates the need to test make-up on the skin and then leave the store to check and then come back in, which always feels rather weird.

It is a great store because you can buy pretty much everything you need under one roof which I am definitely a great fan of. I find that I tend to buy most of my holiday items from here such as sun tan lotion, sunglasses and fly sprays and bite creams. You can also get photos developed at many boots stores. They sell baby clothes, beauty products, electricals such as hair dryers ect and fragrance. They also have a pharmacy where you can buy your prescriptions. I think boots is well known for its 3 for 2 products, which make good stocking fillers and save you some cash. The staff are always very helpful and friendly and they have plenty of tills with staff on them all the time, you rarely get an unstaffed till.
