The baristas were friendly, accommodating and swift. The island bear and Americana drinks were perfect.

I stopped on a Saturday at 11:30 am in May. Nobody was eating lunch - my first clue. Second clue -…read morethe outside of the building was dirty. Third clue - no items displayed in a case. I forged ahead, hoping I was wrong and this place was just not busy because of the road signs everywhere. No such luck. No bread. No "hand-dipped chocolates," three pieces of some pie, three pieces of something that looked like lemon bars? I bought three sugar cookies with red, white, and blue icing. I took them to go. After I finally opened the package, they were hard to open. It was tasteless, dry, and obviously made with pre-packaged sugar cookie dough. Yuck - not a return trip. Maybe the soup is good? They may have good sandwiches and paninis, but if you can't make a good sugar cookie, it is hard to see the value in anything else.

While driving through Kenton on our way to Port Clinton, we asked ChatGPT for lunch recommendations…read moreand were directed to The Sweet Note Cafe, described as one of the best lunch spots in town, offering sandwiches, soups, and a cozy, homemade feel. It was even highlighted as the "best overall lunch vibe." Unfortunately, our experience did not align with that recommendation. Upon arrival, we initially weren't sure the café was open. When we entered, we were met with a somewhat surprised reception, as though our presence was unexpected (Uh, oh... people!!). After a brief moment, someone approached the register to take our order. We each ordered a soup and a half sandwich. Overall, the food was underwhelming. The Caprese sandwich consisted primarily of mozzarella and tomato, notably lacking basil. It was served with a balsamic reduction, which added some needed flavor. I ordered the beer cheese soup, which resembled a thin, Velveeta-style cheese base with carrots and was quite bland--I found myself adding a significant amount of salt. My wife had the loaded baked potato soup and described it as unremarkable as well. For two half sandwiches, two cups of soup, and two bottled sodas, the total came to approximately $30. In our view, the quality did not justify the price. We left still feeling unsatisfied and ended up stopping at Love's for snacks. It seems the café may be better known as a bakery or confectionery, although there was limited evidence of that during our visit. Overall, we would likely choose a different option the next time we pass through Kenton.

There's a stage in the back for live performances and possibly karaoke. The crew working there is very friendly and helpful. The food certainly is worth a try. Just about anything you could want in a bar, the menu is pretty sizeable. The one surprise I was not at all expecting was hushpuppies! Nobody serves those unless it's a fish restaurant and they're good. The burger I got was seasoned well and not greasy while the bun was not at all soggy but toasted to meet expectations. If you're curious about the history of this place, there's a section menu that gives you a brief overview. Definitely a local place you should check out of you're in or around the Rossford area

It's technically in Rossford, but oh my gosh. TV Heaven and the best pickle bread I've ever had. The bartenders are so nice and always on the move! The menu is huge and has something for everyone. If you like pickles, cheese and bread - it's a MUST to try the pickle bread. We've been twice now and ordered three the last time we went because it's so damn good. The wonder and staff clearly know what they're doing. They have tons of live music, events and even parades for everyone in the family. This is such a community bar and the best place to come to watch the game.

There is no shortage of options in the downtown Lima area, which surprised us. After scouring the we sites, pictures, and reviews, we landed solidly on Vibe Coffeehouse & Cafe. The deciding factor? They roast their own beans. I may sound dramatic with this next statement, but I promise - there's no drama. I had the best and truest flat white I've ever had in America. Nope, not kidding. Nope, not a dramatic statement. I only speak the truth. I'm not a massive world traveler, but this flat white rivals those I've had in Denmark, Sweden, and Ireland. It's great quality and I was sad when I had my last sip as the car rolled through Cincinnati. The breakfast sandwich wasn't quite as epic an experience, yet it was exactly what I wanted and needed to start the next day of travel. I had the turkey sausage, egg, and swiss cheese breakfast on a croissant. Not greasy and I'm still sated 3 hours later. Nice job! For those who live in Lima, you're so lucky to have this gem in your backyard. For those traveling through, get off the 75 and take the time to drive 2ish miles - Vibe is worth it and you are, too!

The atmosphere is one of its strongest features--European-themed décor, relaxed lighting, and a café-style layout that feels intentional rather than generic. We were seated and able to place our order immediately, which set a positive first impression. The food itself was excellent. The crepes were rich, well-filled, and balanced. Flavor-wise, it exceeded expectations. When the dishes were correct, they were genuinely impressive and easily the highlight of the visit. However, service execution significantly undermined the experience. The kitchen ticket was entered incorrectly, which delayed the entire order. By the time the mistake was recognized, the process had to restart from scratch, resulting in a prolonged wait. More concerning, one crepe was served with bananas despite a stated banana allergy. That error should not occur in a restaurant environment, particularly when allergens are involved. After the correction, another friend's food was completely forgotten, even after the reordered items were sent back. Other than the delicious food, the whole experience was a mess. In summary, the food quality and atmosphere justify a visit, but operational and service issues need improvement. Strong product, weak execution. Overall: 3/5 stars.

Personally, I enjoyed all of them but a couple of my friends wished that the Mediterranean crepe was warmer. We also tried coffees and lattes and everything was good, but I'll probably switch up my order from the pistachio latte to something else next time. We all loved the Morning and Pastrami crepes. The servers were very friendly and accommodating, and the owner brought a complimentary bottle of water to the table for our friend who arrived first which we thought was nice. I would love to see them move away from disposable plates and silverware. It not good for the environment and it also cheapens the dining experience.
