The clerk (an arrogant cow) refuses to sell me a lighter on the grounds that she would lose her job if she did, stating that it would not be legal to sell a lighter to anyone under 21 years old. If that is truly a state law or a town ordinance, that would be typical of facsist-chussetts and is absurd. If it is a company policy, that is equally absurd. Under 18, I get it, kids shouldn't play with fire. But there are 18, 19 and 20 year olds in the US military using weapons of war, explosives and other extremely dangerous equipment; these same people would not be allowed to buy a freaking bic lighter here? Even if she was really telling the truth, that she would have been fired if she sold me that lighter, that still does not justify how rude and dismissive this woman was. I understand that Lee, MA is a town full of Karens that will call the cops on kids skateboarding in the park or refuse to sell lighters to 20 year olds but you could at least be polite about it. Also, the Appalachian Trail runs basically through this town and occasionally some under 21 hikers will need a new lighter, don't be a d*ck about it and just sell em' the goddamn lighter.

My first thought was "people, how hard can it be?". Well, then it was my turn. I tried THREE different bills and TWO different credit cards... none of the five worked for me. Really? However, at that point (you know, after being in line for 10+ minutes) people were behind me so I couldn't back up, so I just waited for the car in front of me to finish so I could drive on through.
