    Chicken Quesadilla
    Dallas B.

I recently visited during the off season. But it was still pretty busy. The business enforced Covid safety protocols, everyone had masks, social distancing, etc. There was enough room for a few people to sit inside, and there was some outdoor seating as well. The interior is very welcoming and clean. All the workers were extremely friendly and helpful while ordering. The prices were as you would expect for the area, as it is right off the main tourist area of Cape May. The reason for 3 stars, was that the food lacked flavor. I ordered the chicken quesadilla. The quality of the ingredients was good, but I felt that it could have used some more flavoring or seasoning. The others that were with me said the same about their food. We all ended up using the different kinds of hot saucea they have available to add a little flavor to it.

So when I saw outside I was amazed and when I saw the menu I was even more amazed! I was so excited about everything I ordered and already planned what I was going to get the next time. BUT after waiting one hour The queso was just nacho cheese, no onions/tomatos/peppers or spices like most queso dips. The chips were completely burnt and tasted like burnt oil. Because the chips were so bad I couldn't even eat the nachos I ordered, the chips were dark brown burnt & the cauliflower was just as burnt. All the toppings were great and it was such an awesome idea. Going to give it another shot and hopefully it's better next time.

    No meat little cheese

Food way over priced and portions sizes a joke this place fell off.... what let down better off hitting wawa

This was the $3.95 street corn they served. It looked like it was found on the street.

The food was good but I was extremely disappointed with the street corn they served. If you look at the attached photo you will see that half the ear was dead. There is absolutely NO WAY this should have ever been given to a customer. And then to charge $3.95 for this was ridiculous. Too many other places to spend my money to be giving it to a place that served me what basically was garbage.

    Rio Bowl with Coconut

Big Wave is awesome. That's it. The only problem I have here is deciding every time between a burrito or an acai bowl; they are both amazing. The shop is super cool with benches and pillows and surf boards hanging from the ceiling. A lot of the boards have info about surfers who died riding them which is pretty crazy but cool. I had a Rio Bowl today and opted to add coconut on top for $1.00. Their Rio Bowls are delicious, and a small ($8.95) was big enough for lunch. I am absolutely obsessed with their granola which is soft and chewy and has a ton of flavor. They also put local honey on top. Their location on the boardwalk in Wildwood uses a different, crunchy granola and I really wish they would switch to the kind they use in Cape May. Everything here is totally recommended, it's a great spot to eat in or take out.

    Nice place to visit

For lunch we had two different sandwiches which came with a bag of chips: the chicken cutlet caprese: jersey tomatoes, basil pesto & mozzarella - 4/5, the chicken cutlet is sliced into thin pieces and mixed in with the tomatoes, pesto and mozzarella - I think I would have enjoyed this more if it was served as a piece of chicken cutlet topped with the other items. In this format it was a little hard to eat (I ended up scraping the chicken out of the bread to eat it that way), and not satisfying as a sandwich the fried eggplant, roasted peppers, sauteed spinach, tomatoes & mozzarella - 5*/5, generous slices of lightly breaded fried eggplant topped with the other items for a "meaty" sandwich, very delicious! For dinner we had the halibut with braised leeks and ratatouille over polenta, it was amazing! I'm not sure if I can recreate this at home but the combination of the perfectly prepared halibut over the creamy polenta accented by slices of the leek, topped with what I could have believed was the typical topping for eggplant or chicken parmigiana (maybe that would be easier than making ratatouille?) - sumptuous! Now that I know about Homestyle To Go I'll definitely order from there instead of eating out in Cape May every night as we usually do when we stay on the Cape. So many more things to try!

And after reading the reviews on this I was really anticipating a good (and hopefully great) meal. Unfortunately they missed the mark. I arrived a few minutes before open so was able to be first in line (there were already three to four people behind me at 12:00pm). I ordered Hank's Famous Buffalo Chicken Dip which was described as having: shredded chicken folded between layers of our secret multi-cheese blend - dusted with panko, drizzled with Thai Chili sauce, and baked to golden perfection - served with tortilla chips. I thought the Thai Chili sauce was a strange addition, but I decided to go for it. There was a large portion of the dip that seemed to be missing the panko, was very runny and really wasn't much to be excited about. The Thai Chili was really what ruined it. A bad combination. And to add insult to injury the chips are some of the worst, bland, bottom of the shelf in a grocery store chips. The wings were something that I was looking forward to as they were described to me as "double baked in the oven" and seasoned with their rub (which is a great rub). I should've trusted my instincts on this one as well...if you double fry a wing you can achieve a very crispy exterior. If you double bake a wing you can do this as well, but you need to cook them a bit longer. What I received were six (quite large) wings, that you could see the rub on, but on the rubbery skin it was nearly absent of the Hank's Heat sauce I had requested. I didn't opt for the $1.50 upcharge for Blue Cheese on the side and am glad I didn't. The rub was good but they would've been better had they been cooked until the skin at least rendered some and there had been sauce. Finally, the Hawaiian Pork Tacos: Hank-A-Q pulled pork, mango salsa, monterey jack cheddar, arugula, and strawberry reduction drizzle served on warm flour tortillas with chips. Theses came fairly close to the description. I'm not sure if they should have had a sauce or they just got cute with the "Hank-A-Q" name but they only had the "strawberry reduction drizzle" which paired with the mango salsa was cloyingly sweet. The pork was shredded and flavorless, at least the arugula gave it some sort of edge...also the corn chips were an unnecessary addition. The staff were polite but the food was far from anything I would consider good. Their portions are large so maybe that drives some to give higher ratings. They should stick to sauces, because they do those very well.

My first experience at CE was a couple months, and while it was a good experience I was on a specific diet and could not partake in the entire menu (try the ramen!). On this second trip, I was eager to try something with protein. From entry to exit, my experience was a terrific one! There were ample parking spaces, the restaurant and the bathrooms were clean and shiny, and there were plenty of seating options. (Always check bathrooms as it's a reflection of how serious the restaurant is about sanitation and cleanliness). Angel, one of the team members was great - she welcomed me, assisted me with my menu-related questions, and was overall pleasant. She was knowledgeable with the menu which added to the service experience. I ordered a bowl with brown rice & roasted potatoes, sides of asparagus and glazed carrots, and the wild-caught salmon. Wild-caught salmon!? Wow! Not something typically offered in a quick-service style eatery. It was delicious! The roasted potatoes were deliciously seasoned with a good texture, the veggies were well-seasoned and cooked al dente, the rice did not have much flavor or seasoning, but I did not mind as the bowl was already packed with flavor and the rice was more for the carbs. I appreciate that the food is served restaurant sit-down style - served in a non-disposable bowl with actual silverware, and the food is brought to the table. When I finished my meal, another kind team member took my bowl. The service on my second trip was a far better experience. A nice finish would be a small assortment of freshly baked desserts. While I love chocolate chip cookies, I passed on trying CE's as it did not look appetizing. Overall, great experience! I will be back.

What stands them apart is how they have their own heating equipment in the back so that if you order a salad with a protein, they are cooking it in the back. If you order a grain bowl, they can stir fry the veggies and meat together in the back to mix everything up. This, combined with their fresh ingredients, makes them a very high quality salad place. Would recommend for sure! p.s. If anyone from Salad House is reading this, please consider offering organic greens or at least one type of an organic green like Honeygrow with their Organic Spinach. Even charge a bit more for it if you want. Anyway, this is now the part of the review that nobody ever comes here for: - Water: There's no self-serve water machine - Restrooms: There are two single occupancy restrooms - Accessibility: The entire restaurant is wheelchair accessible, though with how the tables are placed, you may need to move a few chairs around potentially to roll in. - Seating: There's enough seating with a combination of high top and low tops. (p.s. The Window doesn't feel like it's been treated to block heat out so if you sit by those stools in the summer, you will fill the heat). - Will it fill you up? Yes. Much unlike Sweetgreens (sorry for firing those shots), the bowls are big enough and will fill you up. - Dietary Notes: A surprising number of their sauces are gluten free and they are very accommodating to telling you their allergens and offering substitutions, especially when ordering in store.

The inside is simple, with cafeteria-style seating and a big, clean kitchen, but the warm welcome from the staff sets the tone right away. The menu is an all-day affair, loaded with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. While the dining room was quiet during our visit, the constant stream of DoorDash drivers picking up orders made it clear this spot is a local favorite. They offer both bottled and fountain drinks, keeping things easy and classic. We kicked things off with the fried pickles. I'll admit, I am not usually a fan, but my dining partner insisted. At around $10, these were worth every penny. They were hand-battered, not frozen, and came out steaming hot with a side of ranch. The portion was huge, and to my surprise, they were excellent. If fried pickles are your thing, these are a must-try. For the main course, I nearly went with the fried flounder sandwich, but at the last second I joined my friend in ordering the Jersey Devil Cheeseburger. This beast of a burger was an 8-ounce spicy patty cooked to order and topped with Thousand Island, crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried onions, and mushrooms on a Kaiser roll. At $11.99, it came with a pickle and a side dish, and I went with the slaw. It was fresh and tasty, though my friend thought it could use a little more vinegar. The burger itself was fresh, huge, and delivered on its promise of heat. It even came crowned with a whole roasted jalapeño pepper as garnish. For me, the cayenne packed a little too much punch without much flavor, and I think smoked jalapeños might make an even better choice. Still, my friend loved it, and we both left full and satisfied. Molly's Kitchen is the kind of place you want to have in your back pocket. It's simple, friendly, and serving up hearty food that feels made with care. If you're in the Northfield area and looking for a great bite, don't pass this place by. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm nearby.
