John is the owner of Reedley windows and my builder uses John for all of his homes. So we really did not have a choice on who we would be able to use as far as a window subcontractor. John was very slick about how to hide costs in the actual build. John clearly knew our budget and wrote up the windows and the patio door separate so it looked like we were in budget with windows and doors, but it turned out we were $6000 over budget and we'd find out after they are installed. John miss ordered a big arched window on the color scheme and we ended up just sticking with it because he was going to charge us for whole new window in order to fix it. John installed hardware which we originally ordered in satin nickel but we ended up changing to oil rubbed bronze. When he installed the Hardware he put oil rubbed bronze kick locks, but all the other hardware was satin nickel. When I asked him if he had my oil rubbed bronze hardware he said it was going to be an extra cost to me even though he already has oil rubbed bronze kick locks and satin nickel handles. It was a complete mess, he didn't even give us the plates to cover the holes on the doors. He neglected to install the screens on the doors because he said "his installers were spooked over the coronavirus". Yet I heard he's working everyday on new builds and remodels and told me they aren't doing service calls. But my house isn't a service call. So he's making me pay to have a random handy man to put my screens and giving me a bill for new hardware. I forgot to mention how the new hardware he sent me didn't have the actual lock, or black screws to much! The widows have been a nightmare. All credit goes to John. If you were smart and read this, I'd urge you to find a different window company. I finally got tired of dealing with him and went direct to Anderson and they were apologetic over how John treated us, sent us all replacement parts! Never again with Reedley Window Center

I purchased a beautiful older home which after receiving a recommendation from a trusted friend, and interviewing several other contractors, I hired California Shine Construction to completely remodel the kitchen and bathroom, paint the exterior and interior of the home, refinish existing and install new wood flooring, install recessed lighting, and replace the old wooden roof on the house and detached garage as well as install a flagstone patio. I have nothing but good things to say about the entire experience of working with California Shine. The price for the project was competitive ( I obtained two other estimates) and the craftsmanship and installation of granite countertops, kitchen cabinets, wooden trim, tile work, appliances and hardware was excellent. Luis Bravo kept me informed on the progress of the work and responded to me promptly when I reached out to him with questions. The job was completed on time, the site was kept clean and the work crew were friendly and seemed to enjoy working with their coworkers and as well as the work they were doing. He said that part of our money had been invested in "plans" that his drafter never authorized for us to use. We made four different appointments with Luis to meet us in our Clovis home to discuss this matter and to request a refund for a project that was NEVER BEGUN. Four times we left work early to meet with Luis and four times he simply did not show up. We left messages and texts but he never responded to any. When we mailed him a certified letter to ask for our deposit back, he REFUSED TO ACCEPT the letter. Whatever you do, DO NOT HIRE this dishonest, unethical man.

They DID NOT tell us to have structural strengthening to support the extra weight. I came home from work a few years later and noticed some sagging in the roof. You can imagine how stressed we were to see so many beams split and corners stretched out. They didn't fix anything. We had to replace the roof after it was beefed up with heavier beams and other reinforcing. I wouldn't recommend them. 4 stars for niceness. 1.5 stars for NOT fixing the issues.

The start date was postponed a little, but that was likely due to delays in shipping caused by covid (which is understandable). The fence was installed in about half of a day and looks beautiful. A big compliment to the foremen (both of them) and the excellent / hard-working crew! I will definitely recommend them in the future.
