Having recently taken a CCW class and being told there was a general shortage nationwide on…read morehandguns, I wasn't expecting much from The Armories. Boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise! I walked in and was immediately greeted by Ariel. I explained what I was looking for, and not only did she have one of the guns I was considering -- she had FOUR! In stock. Just like that. Well, I explained that I didn't want to purchase one without firing it first and she quickly replied "By all means! I recommend...." and gave us the name of a range we'd already planned on visiting. Fast forward to later that same day. My time at the range helped me decide which gun I wanted, but now my husband was getting the fever too (not hard to do since he's retired Army). We headed back to The Armories and found a much busier store. Ariel was busy, but our wait to be helped was short and then Bebo waved us over. Okay -- at this point, someone upstairs (God? Angels? Lucky spirits? All three?) was reeeeeally looking out for us because after getting me sorted super fast with my gun, by husband asked Bebo "What parts to you have in stock to make an AR-15?" Bobo's eyes lit up like a kid's on Christmas morning -- it just so happened they received a big shipment after our morning visit to them -- and with that my husband was off to the races! Bebo spent at least the next half hour stepping my husband through options, many of which he recommended based on his own personal weapons assembly experience. Other guys would listen in on the convo and chip in with their two cents. It was really fun and a fantastic experience. If the salespeople weren't amazing enough, here's another reason to feel good about shopping there -- they don't work on commission, so you can rest assured you're not being recommended something just so they can make a quick buck or they have extra product on hand. No...we felt super good about our experience there and look forward to returning to pick up our goodies after the background check! Thanks to the ownership and management of The Armories for having an amazing team in Kissimmee! (***I will be copy and pasting this same review onto Google***)

I placed an AR-15 on layaway at The Armory in Kissimmee, Florida, because I specifically wanted…read morethat particular firearm. Shortly after placing it on layaway, I had to unexpectedly travel back to Ohio due to a family situation. Because of these circumstances, I missed the 90-day layaway deadline. I explained my situation to the staff at The Armory, and I was told that there would be no problem. I continued making monthly payments toward the firearm, believing that my layaway agreement was still in good standing. When I eventually went to pick up the firearm, I was informed that it had been removed from my layaway. What was most disappointing was that no one contacted me to let me know that the firearm had been removed or that there was an issue with my layaway. Had I received a simple phone call, I could have discussed the situation with the store and considered other options. I specifically wanted that particular firearm, and by the time I learned what had happened, it was no longer available. I was also informed that I could not receive a full refund because of a 20% restocking fee based on the original price of the firearm. I understand that businesses have policies and that layaway agreements may have deadlines. However, I am very disappointed with how this situation was handled. I continued making payments after explaining my circumstances to the store, and I was never notified that the firearm had been removed from my layaway. I believe that a simple phone call explaining that the firearm was being removed and discussing my options would have been a much more reasonable and customer-friendly approach.

So you're thinking about buying a gun? You're not all that familar with guns but you'd like to be…read more If this is the case you should head over to Addisons. They have a large selection of guns, new and used at great prices. The staff is always ready and willing to answer your questions, but that isn't the best thing addisons has to offer. You can sign up for their classes. There is a fee and you must have a drivers license or state issued id. The class I took was the Basic Pistol Handling and Gun Safety Course. It's the class you must take before applying for your concealled permit. You can take the class for gun saftey alone, it's a stand alone class, you don't have to apply for the permit if you don't want to. The Instructor, John Lassiter, is phenominal. He's a great teacher, but he's also very entertaining to listen too. I had fun learning about guns and gun safety. I would encourage anyone with a gun in their home to take his class. The class will take about 4 hours, with a break inbetween. You get to handle different types of pistols and semi automatics and after the class you will shoot a pistol at a target to pass the class using all the knowledge you have gained during the 4 hours. It was a fun experience and I no longer feel uncomfortable around a gun because I know how to handle one and be safe with it.

A great shop, not a chain or corporate atmosphere, but friendly, old school customer service…read more Excellent selection of firearms at fair prices and all things gun related: ammo of course, gun cases, holsters, optics, gun safes, cleaning accessories, and more. Knowledgeable staff willing to take time to talk. Unlike some other local shops, they don't have an issue if you want to buy from a well known online seller and have the firearm shipped to their store (for which they charge a flat fee). For me, that kind of customer-friendly outlook means I will return there for my gun and ammo needs. Their gunsmith is good. He squared away a handgun for me on my first visit. They have a small handgun range, it's not bad, but they need to step up their game in that department. They have a rudimentary pulley system for the targets, essentially like a clothesline. The day I visited the rope in my lane had knot in it and moving the pulley with the knotted rope was a bit problematic. 1 star short because they at least need to have more than a clothesline to move targets back and forth on the range. All things considered, a great and fun gun shop to visit.
