Then I needed to move a couch and Angelo helped with that. Angelo was at least as professional, trustworthy, friendly and respectful as his employee. We got the couch moved and things went smoothly. STAY AWAY!!!! Vernon is a liar, a scammer, and makes you think you know nothing and know what he is…read moredoing even when he doesn't. He can convince you his sloppy work is a piece of art. You can clearly see the terrible job he did. It's worse in person because details look worse in person. He refused to fix anything and said that's how it's done. When I told him I would complain about him to Yelp and requested my money back, he said they'll believe him and not me. It was so stressful, and I regret hiring him. Vernon agreed to do a herringbone pattern with tiles for my kitchen backsplash. He said he and his worker know how to do it and was reassuring he'd do a great job cause he's done this for years. He brought a guy named Jenson to help him. Jenson was trying to do the job while Vernon was trying to tell him what to do. Jenson seemed clueless and didn't know how to do the herringbone pattern but claimed that on day one, he knew. Jenson kept messing up and doing it the wrong way. Due to his lack of knowledge, 10:30am till after midnight while I was sitting there miserable hearing them going back and forth until a couple of hours later they finally got the hang out of. Also, they were complaining if there was a lot of cutting even though it was a small area in apt. The biggest problem is that the job wasn't done right at so. They missed grout in places, the tiles were uneven on wall, and the caulking was sloppy and was rushed. The grout was still wet and wasn't dried but they started the caulking which mixed into the grout. I said something but they said it's dried and it's fine because they were trying to rush it off there. Vernon said he would come back another day to fix it. However, he said the job he did is the same job he would do. He said there's nothing to fix and that's how you do it. He implied that because he gave me a cheap price that's the best he can do. There's grout all over the tiles and wasn't cleaned properly, and my cabinets are stained, tiles aren't placed right with gaps on bottom, grout is missing, and the caulking is sloppy and not professional looking. His answer was I should have done white grout and not choose the color I wanted because his imperfections from doing a bad job stand out. I have to rehire someone to completely take off the backsplash and redo it. I requested compensation from Yelp because of this disastrous nightmare and unprofessional job! Would NEVER recommend. No one deserves to go through this. DON'T NOT HIRE HIM FOR GOD SAKE!

After reviewing the home and talking to the homeowner and I, he sent the price list back by task a la carte style which was good because it allowed my client to pick and choose which tasks they could afford at that time. He and his team time arrived on time and quickly started to work. They were patient as my homeowner and I discussed placement of furniture, etc. And they cleared out a garage of junk in record time and during record temperatures. They went the extra distance by sweeping and clearing out an enormous amount of leaves and debris as well as removing junk for salvage. DPH is a licensed and insured company that actually understands the nuances of doing jobs within a home; they were a pleasure to work with.

I remembered the owner of the company favorably from a differently named local company, so I felt confident hiring them for snow removal on an ad hoc basis. As the owners of a local home, we needed to secure someone quickly to remove the sidewalk accumulation while we were out of town. We were sent a contract which I quickly read--my husband was ill and I was distracted--but I did reply and ask if the contract obligated us in any way after the following day's snowfall, as if we were ourselves able to do the snow removal. The reply was ,"No, you are not obligated. Just let us know when you will be doing it and we will note the list at that time" Mistakenly, I believed this did not obligate us any further, but received a $350 bill for the past two days--when we were again out of town and I was not aware of the approximately 1.6 inches of snow during a storm that impacted the area (as per NWS). When I emailed the company to question the charge as I believed it was in error, I was informed "we do ask that you notify us in advance when you will be handling the snow removal yourselves so we can mark your property accordingly for that event." "Since we did not receive notification prior to the snowfalls on January 17th and January 19th, your property remained on our active service list, and service was completed in accordance with the contract that is currently in effect through December 1, 2026. (We) also want to note that we did not hear from you after the January 17th service, which led us to reasonably proceed with service again on January 19th. For that reason, the invoice reflects services performed on two separate dates and remains due." Legal ? Probably. Unclear? Definitely; IMHO of course. Deceitful? Certainly in my book. Needless to say, I did reply, clearly, today that I wanted to cancel the contract. We actually still do need a company that offers services on an ad hoc basis, but I'll stick with Taskrabbit. Cheaper and way more upfront.
