It's also a hardware, hiking and fishing supplies shop. In fact, I was impressed with the volume and kinds of fishing gear in stock. Of course, given the number of fishing access spots I passed, I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised. While I was there, the person ahead of me in the checkout line had an entire basket of groceries. She lived nearby and liked the convenience of not driving the several miles to Livingston or to Gardiner. I don't know if this place gives a discount to locals but given the number of tourists that were in and out of here, they likely could cut a break for nearby residents. Because it's located on the main road to the Park, you won't have to stray too far to pick up supplies, including the touristy stuff. And the people working here are nice and efficient.

They don't have HEBs up here in Montana- sigh. This grocer offers a big meat market with some types of meat that are just downright expensive for what you're getting. I saw sausages packed in jars on brine, which I'd never seen before. I also saw sausage making kits, another grocer item that was foreign to me. I was impressed with their local beer selection! They offer a bunch of different Montana beers and wines, focusing on the Red Lodge Brewing Co located down the street. I managed to get an impressive selection of Montana brews. I wanted to also get some of the local flavor, so I found some wildly expensive spices for meats and another for beans. They were so much the clerk had to double check the item to make sure I wasn't being accidentally overcharged. The place was clean, and the aisles are wide. The store is well organized and well lit. The Clearance section was pretty meager. I was pretty impressed with the self check out section, and the deli, but didn't opt for either of those. I was astonished with the produce prices! I've seldom seen cilantro priced so high! Ay yi yi! Parking is easy with a dedicated lot. It's located across the street from a cool park and art gallery!

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the store is easy to shop and well stocked for a small mountain community. Prices are definitely on the higher side, but that seems to come with being the only option in a remote tourist town. If I were planning a trip with a larger family, I would probably do a bigger shop in Billings before coming in and just use Beartooth Market for quick top-ups and forgotten items. Overall, it's a solid local grocery store that gets the job done and has a welcoming, small-town feel.

Wow. With a population of around 300, Clyde Park has an impressive grocery store…read more They have a selection of everything, but only a few choices of each, so you're never overwhelmed with choosing from 10 different brands of tomato sauce or peanut butter or the like. Fresh vegetables are from local places, as much as possible, coffee beans and ground coffee are also from local roasters. There's a meat department with a butcher available to help with the meat for the outdoor grill. The freezers and coolers have ice cream and frozen foods if you just can't face a day of cooking or are in a hurry to get back to your favorite fishing or hunting spot. This isn't a store that specifically caters to the tourists, but rather is an honestly old fashioned neighborhood grocery store helping out the locals who don't want to drive to the "big" town. They have everything you'd find in larger towns, but without the hassle of traffic, wobbly grocery carts, grumpy employees, expired food, and unreasonable markups. It's nice to see a small, locally-owned business keep their focus on the community. The community has returned the favor as Glenn's signage says they've been in business since 1948, although maybe not in this location. Glenn's has the old fashioned look inside the store and still has a neighborhood feel..

I have nothing but great things to say about the Gardner market…read more I was hesitant to go there because everyone said it was so expensive but I found the experience delightful. I wish I had gone there earlier in my stay just for the ambience lol. There are many things to question about Gardner Montana ;)However, the Gardner market was not one of them. Everybody in there was so polite and friendly. I couldn't believe it. Every time I asked for something everybody was incredibly helpful and there were some really nice ladies that were just totally friendly. The store is stocked to the brim. It has everything, at my hotel they were saying oh you won't find sunscreen or cream there but you know what they had every possible sunscreen and cream available!!! I was able to go there toward my last day and get things that I really needed like water and some sleeping pills since I was in a hotel that was very noisy! I would highly recommend the Gardner market to anyone and just remember when you're on a vacation things are more expensive because people are trying to make money in a small town so don't hold that against them. I love that market and if I lived in Gardner, I would shop there no matter what.
