Took the car in to a couple places including Mr. V's. The other places wanted me to spend a small fortune to make my not-so-new car look like it was. Mr. V's gave me a couple options, the like new options the others offered up and also a way that would keep it intact and look pretty good without requiring me to empty my savings account. I took them up on their offer and it turned out great. Since then they have fixed a seat bracket for me, repaired a chipped windshield, and a few others minor repairs. This alternator is a $180 part here in Omaha. I figured $150/hr for an hour of shop time to put the new one in. The owner calls me and we discussed pricing. He looked it up and told me $380 for the part. I said no. He kept looking and said he could get me one for $280. I thought a $100 markup was extreme on parts but I agreed as it was 4 hours away. He does the work and gives me a bill for $525. I called him about the bill and he charged me $340 for the alternator, not the $280 agree upon and when I questioned it he said "It will cost you more than $100 to come up here and deal with it but you can do that if you want to." This guy just basically held me hostage do to my location and lied to me about the cost. The son Ron Jr. is the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. DO NOT GO HERE!!! This shop is a thief! I rarely post bad reviews but this guy is a crook. BEWARE!

However, we tried to submit to roadside service to get reimbursed for our costs for the tow, and we needed an original copy. The owner (I believe he was the owner) refused to provide us with an original because he had already emailed a copy and had thrown away the carbon copy. Ford roadside assistance won't accept an emailed copy. He did explain the reason for not being able to write up another copy for us - the auditors would consider it two transactions. Do local businesses get audited? Regardless, the owner was exceptionally rude to my daughter and to me. He told me, 'Get a different insurance.' It's not our insurance at all - it's Ford roadside assistance. He didn't care and made no attempt to work with me. I would not recommend people using this service.
