Nope, wrong again. Yes, small $5 coffee does exist, here in the Piney Woods of east Texas. Oh, so it must be one of those fancy independent coffee shops. Or, possibly a Starbucks. Ha, no- wrong again. $5 coffee (the most I've ever paid in my entire life) can be found at Cowboy Coffee (old Kickers Coffee) on Old Jacksonville. My first visit, I pulled up to the drive through, and the employee, stumbled, and fumbled his words, as he was about to give the most important speech of his life. Even though the *handwritten* sign states $2 for coffee, he thought an upcharge of $1 was appropriate, and awkwardly stuttered $3. I handed him three singles, and drove off. A tad high, but I needed a jolt before I took my son to baseball. On my second visit (yes, I like to support small businesses), I drove up, and ordered the exact same thing: a iced coffee, black- no sugar; no sweeteners. A simple drink, one would think. Five minutes later (I was the only customer), the man, who I pegged as the owner, held my iced coffee, and stuttered, "It'll be $5." I almost, and should have drove off, but I thought they were kidding. No, they indeed charged me $5 for a small coffee. I'm the biggest lobbyist for local, small business owners, but when you rip me off, it'll be the last time I hand you money. Not sure the employees / owner(s) understand business 101...

Outdoor seating area, small playground for kids, and even a Bring one/take on Book House exchanges (never really know what to call those). They offer some light select foods/snacks, coffee of course, teas, etc. There is indoor seating, as well as, facilities if you should need it. It's a great meeting point, as well... I think Crema is good, but to me, they are not really a coffee shop made to get your standard drinks at. Their specialty signature drinks are really what sells them. They are sugary, they are sweet, it's like a dessert in a cup at times. I categorize that style as "sweet treat coffee." Less about the coffee and more about coffee being the base of a sugary fun drink. That's their style, and it works for them. I think that can make a lot of people dislike them for not being as traditional as other coffee shops in the area, but that also opens the floor for people to go to Crema instead of a Dutch Bros/7 Brew and actually have an establishment with a cafe vs. just a drive-through. Their specialty holiday drinks can be pretty over-the-top and exciting as well. I remember they did a Cinnamon Toast Crunch drink once, and it was a behemoth of a drink. Crema opened after I had started going to college, but I've been quite a few times since it was the closest coffee shop to my parents' house for some time and my mom's co-workers loved going there. I would go every trip back and I started working it into my routine to hit up Crema before driving back to college every semester, getting their matcha. Before the matcha craze really took off, I tried Crema's Vanilla Oatmilk Matcha Latte, and I was pretty impressed with it because it tasted earthy but still sweet. I could best compare it to a flavor of Lucky Charms. I went to Crema when I was taking a quick trip to Tyler, and I ordered their iced Dolce with no whipped cream. I thought that it was a great treat after a long morning hike, but possibly too sweet on the wrong day. They now serve their drinks in those rounded bottom cups like La La Land does, which seems to be a trend, but it all makes sense for the concept of Crema. The spot is nice, the baristas are all very friendly, and it was buzzing with people that Sunday afternoon. The drive-through line was stretched super wide even though they were moving orders very quickly. It's great to see it doing well since I've left Tyler. RIYL: A sweet treat.

Prices are cheaper than the big names or other local spots, the drinks are less heavy than other places, and I can stock up on beans or single pot packets. For "specialty" coffee, you can't beat the value. When they don't have a bag of beans/grounds of your blend out, they'll radio back and get a fresh bag put together in no time flat the service is excellent. Plus, it feels good to know your dollar is staying local.

Lauren quickly and promptly met me at the door and showed me their vast selection of teas. I selected the Polar Escape, a white tea with mint, to help a sore throat. They also had a good array of tea brewers, kettles, steepers, spoons, etc to add to your tea brewing proclivity. I selected a beautiful tea infuser, I can't wait to use. You can buy tea by the gallon or sample premade options. There was popcorn and honey sticks too. I got some popcorn and a hot tea to go. Very polite staff helped me top to bottom. I can't wait to go back, I'm sure I will be a regular. 10/10
