We bought a bunch of orders of bone-in wings in these flavors: Steel City, Big Fine Woman 3000, Mild Buffalo and a "Big Ern" McCracken grilled chicken sandwich with Firecracker sauce instead of honey mustard. All the flavors were so amazing! We also ordered bone-in wings covered in Honey with Lake Show on the side for our 8 yr old daughter and she even agreed they were the best wings she's ever had. We also bought the appetizer platter which was delicious and very filling. A full page of different flavors of wings! I haven't been able to eat any hot or mild wings after being pregnant and the Firecracker flavor for my sandwich had a nice kick without giving me acid reflux. But my husband loves hot wings so it was a great combination to satisfy us both. Atmosphere: The owner and employees are so nice and provide great service. We at the restaurant and it was a very chill environment. Also, they really know their product! If you or your kids are having problems choosing a flavor they really know every flavor they offer. Two words: mad saucy (and that's good). I went to this place hearing good things about their wings. I believe I was actually served by "Bob" who definitely @ed me about being in the wing game for many years, so I asked him for a recommendation on something that was tasty AND spicy, and my dude (although sassy) was definitely on-point. Pretty decent sized portions with flavorful and abundant sauce. Didn't even stress over the interaction because he was defending his wing pride. Storefront was pretty takeout in nature, which was what I'd expect. Decent side street parking, I'll be back at some point. read more

I was excited to try this place, since I saw that they source their sausage from Ricci's. Being originally from McKees Rocks, Ricci's is a staple of the best sausage available. I was actually excited to find a place that served it on the other side of town. I found the sandwich pretty good, but the rest of the experience left me with a sour taste. The sign board notes the price for the hot sausage sub as $10.99. I was charged over $15.00. When I questioned this, I was told that prices go up, but the signs don't get changed. To justify this, I was shown a menu that listed the price as $13. When I questioned the reason I was charged over $15, I was told that there is an upcharge for using a card rather than cash. It is funny to me that most of their business seemed to come from Uber Eats or Door Dash. The pizza shop next door was buzzing with activity. I questioned where it was noted that there was an upcharge for using a card. I was ignored. The pizza shop had about 5 people behind the line, where here, a single guy handled the orders, one at a time. The pizza shop had a steady stream of customers coming and going, some eating in and some eating on the sidewalk. Big Shot Bob's had a single kid sitting at a table sorting Pokemon cards into a large binder. The cooler showed the value of the place. It was empty except for a few generic bottles of water and a few sad cans of diet Pepsi. The rest was just empty. the sandwich was loaded with peppers and onions, and would have been a value at the posted price. Even at the higher price of $13, I still would have gone for it. At $15, it was priced far higher than the value. I frankly was surprised that the Bureau of Consumer Protection, the Attorney General's Office or the Bloomfield Development Association would allow this. It was very obvious that they were practicing a bait and switch scam. I'm pretty sure that if they ran the business honestly, it would do better than a few delivery service orders and no walk in trade. The whole experience was a disappointment. We've heard a lot of good things about Big Shot Bob's since we moved to Pittsburgh last year. We aren't wing connoisseurs by any means, but we thought it was high time we tried out this local establishment. Sufficeth to say, these were pretty dang good! The flavor options are endless--its almost overwhelming--but that also makes it fun to choose new things each time. My wife chose a garlic, Parmesan, ranch combo and I chose a honey mustard, bbq, ranch combo. Both were packed with flavor and very saucy. We also got the Bloomfield fries, as recommended by our friends. While they had good flavor, they are a bit too soggy for our taste (that being said, they're meant to be that way considering they're doused in buffalo sauce). Though the fries weren't our favorite, we enjoyed trying something new and thought the buffalo/cheese/fry mashup was tasty. Got my wing fix via takeout during the social distancing lockdown of 2020! Wifey and I got two orders of boneless wings and large fries to share (plenty for one meal plus some leftovers). We were very satisfied. The wings were hefty and tender pieces of meat along with crunchy breading, so the best of both worlds. One order had a spicy sauce with quite a kick (Talk of Beaver Falls). The second order had a buffalo sauce and parm mix, so savory and milder on the palette. They have a ridiculously long sauce list, so beware of too many choices and maybe stick to a basic sauce. Fries were a-okay although a bit soft by the time we got them home, due to sitting in the styrofoam. All in all the meal hit the spot! They could do a better job of packaging takeout. Everything comes in styrofoam containers with foil lining the inside and plastic wrapping the outside. The plastic was key in our case because the sauce leaked from one of our wing orders. I guess this is pretty standard packaging for a wing joint but they could be more eco-friendly. read more

After what seemed like a year, Big Shot Bob's finally opened up on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield. I've heard a lot of hype about their wings for a long time, and I'm happy to say that their wings delivered (even though I took them out...). Big Shot Bob's is a take out and delivery only spot (although there are a few high top tables without chairs, if you're desperate) that only accepts cash. The cash only thing is annoying, but there are plenty of banks and ATMs on Liberty, so it's not a huge deal. I ordered 13 Primetime wings (sweet hot garlic golden BBQ), 6 Game-Changer wings (butter, seasonings & parm with a ranch base), and a small order of fries. This was plenty of food for a very filling dinner for my wife and I, but if you are a big eater, or extremely hungry, I'd probably recommend ordering some more wings. One point- you can only split flavors on orders of 50 wings. All of the wings were crispy, properly cooked, well-sauced, and delicious. The Primetime wings were sweet with a touch of heat, while the Game-Changer wings were covered in this creamy, awesome ranch and cheese sauce. The first couple were amazing, but by my third one, the sauce got to be a bit heavy. I would absolutely recommend the Game-Changer wings, but I would keep the order on the smaller side to finish them on a high note. Their fries are on the thicker side, bordering on steak fries. They were hot and fresh, but ultimately just average. Our order was ready in 25 minutes as promised, and counter service was fast and friendly. If you are in the Bloomfield area and you're in the mood for wings, you will not be disappointed with Big Shot Bob's. read more

My boyfriend loved his burger. I don't eat burgers so I opted for a chicken sub. It was okay. Not the best thing I've ever devoured. The customer service is awesome and I gave these guys all the stars because the burger looked and smelled good almost made me wish I did eat beef. I have ordered a few times from Big Shot Bob's House of Wings and I have got to say their burgers are some of tastiest burgers I have ever eaten. Delicious and juicy. Their hoagies are pretty tasty too. But why only two stars, you ask. Their wings. A place that calls itself a "House of Wings" you'd think that wings would be their Five Star achievement, their specialty. Sadly it's not so. What's called six wings ($6) is actually three, three drums and three flats. And the size is what you would expect from someplace like McDonald's or Burger King, if they sold wings. And it's not bad enough the wings look like something that were rejected by Tyson Farms, they're overcooked and fairly tasteless. The taste may be my fault since I decided to order the "Butter Garlic Parmesan" flavor. It sounded good but it wasn't. Now, I did give Bob's only two stars but I will continue to order from there but only burgers and hoagies. We love the Avalon location and have ordered there for quite a while. Back when this Bloomfield location opened up we started ordering from here since it's closer to us. The wings have always been ok at this location. They are usually pretty large and if the wings are on the small side the staff usually throw a couple extra in which is nice. My main issue with this location is the fries. We usually order 2 different kinds of wings and a large order of fries. When the location first opened the large fries were the same size as the Avalon location but as time goes on the large fries gets smaller and smaller. We just got take out today and the amount of fries in the large was smaller than a large fries at the McDonald's. And the price never goes down you just get less. We will probably start ordering from the Avalon location again as we were always VERY happy with that location. read more

Good stuff here. I ordered bsb's over door dash, we ordered 50 wings split into two flavors. Each flavor came in a sturdy aluminum container and were sauced to a point where you could go in for a another dip after the first bite into the wing. I also go the fries. I just moved from Buffalo, NY, so I take my wings very seriously. BSB's wings are 100% absolutely legit. They have officially made it into my top 2. These are fantastic wings with a great crisp, good amount of sauce, and perfect size. I highly recommend ordering them extra crispy and extra saucy. All the flavors I tried were amazing. The wings were very salty on my very first bite. The prices were outrageous for the small town that a new one just opened up in. We ordered two large fries in addtion to much more and they tasted completely different. We waited 60 minutes when we were told about 40. Ive had much better wings at Dino's. I ordered the B.A.D dry wings,regular hot wings, and fries. (Uber eats due to the redcoat quarantine) Forgive my Afrikaans, but goddamn! Wings were cooked great and the flavors were wonderful! I enjoy a good heat with my food, but this is some wonderful stuff, with a nice lasting heat and flavor that doesn't overwhelm you. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
