Corresponded with me through texts including giving me a quote for the job which I found to be a great value. He arrived on time and safely cut down and removed a 30-foot-tall tree in the front yard and he and his son cleaned up the lawn, sidewalk, and street. No mess at all left behind. On the second job two weeks later, he came alone, followed my request to trim off the lower branches of four large trees in the back yard. There were a LOT of branches! These would surely be on the lawn in the next ice storm! And just like last time, these branches don't rebound. This was disaster prevention. He hauled away all the branches off the lawn, then raked the entire length of the 63 feet long by 8 feet deep bed underneath the trees! I did NOT expect that kind of cleanup! I haven't seen that bed so clean in years! He used a blower and cleared the driveway, sidewalk and street of anything that fell during the removal. Again, I was left with no clean up task after he left. Seriously folks, if you need this type of work done by a professional, look no further than The Woodcracker. Highest recommendations!

The house in question is Victorian style, 2 1/2 stories tall, with numerous gables, dormers, a turret with curves, and an octagon shaped porch. It was covered with the original shakes, and needed plywood installed before the new roof went down. This is to emphasize the scope and complexity of the job. There was a 4 day window of good weather. The contractor showed up Monday AM with about 6 vehicles, including 2 or 3 support rigs that held porta-jon and cleanup tools, another just for ladders and rigging, etc. Very organized and professional. 13 workers to start with. Each day's progress was nothing short of amazing. No one ever slacked off, yet morale seemed high. The jobsite was cleaned each evening. They were completely finished by noon Thursday, just barely beating the rain. The finished work looks very good. I was made aware of the cost by my neighbor. Judging be the size, scope, and difficulty of the job, and the speed of completion and quality of work done, I'd say it was a very reasonable price. You won't be cheated or taken advantage of by these guys. Manuel looked carefully at what needed to be done. He gave us an estimate which I felt was fair. He over estimated, but brought plenty of help, which helped us with the price. We've had a lot of problems in the past with estimates that ended up being double (eg, Grizzly Van Lines), but Manuel promised we could stop them if the time went over our estimated time. When he showed up and we made a comment that it would have been nice if he called to let us know he was going to be 2 hours late - as a courtesy. Good business practice. (He now works alone - does not have a crew anymore like before). Well, he took offense and said he didn't think he wanted to do this job because of our comment. We told him we like his work, just let people know if your going to be real late. So he stood there for a minute and walked down the street, got in his truck and left. No sorry, no goodbye, no nothing - just left He would not answer my phone call either. I real immature man. After all the business I've given him and referrals - no more.
