I stopped at Big R on Constitution today to pick up a few items for the ranch. I found a young enthusiastic employee who assisted me in searching for some items I couldn't find. Though these items were out of stock, he took the time to search other local store in town to find what I needed and even called that store to make sure it was indeed in stock. Out of the fifty times that I've been here, it just occurred to me that I've never checked in or written a review. This is where I get my dog and cat food because they have the best prices in town on the high quality brands I feed, and they happen to have a buy 12 get one free of the dog food I feed my pup. They also have better prices on leashes and collars and dog toys then the "big box" stores. There have been several occasions where they have been out of the dog food but a couple times, when I have asked, they look in the back it's back there. The service is kind of hit or miss as far as friendliness or helpfulness, and that's why I think they deserve a average review. read more

Rude, immature employees who could care less about you. The employees dont even know what their store sells. They have no Training. Seems like their focus is just selling western wear. Male manager is the worst. He argued with me and then hung up on me. I have been in this store 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Their employees are either never wearing a mask or have it under their nose. This is a direct violation of the State wide mask mandate. I was just there, I asked an employee if they have water jugs and she very rudely said "water jugs" and I said yes! And she said again rudely "NO"! And so I left and I found one. I went up to her to tell her I didn't appreciate her rudeness and I indeed found a WATER JUG!! She yelled at me and her manager was there and let it happen and watched the WHOLE thing! So unprofessional! I walked away and when we were paying for our things, the cashier asked if we found everything, I said we did and no one helped us and their manager came up to me to explain that she didn't know what I was saying! I don't know how you don't know what a water jug is! I do speak fluent English! I was already mad at that point because she let that employee talk to me like that, in front of everyone! I was very nice to her and I wanted her to know how rude she was and they indeed carry water jugs!! If she had a bad day that's not my problem! The manager (that shouldn't be one) told me to NEVER COME BACK! As she was yelling in the parking lot at me! I'm not allowed to return because of her employee treating people rudely and how they handle situations AND not knowing what you carry in stores! I always go here when I need pine shavings for my chicken coop. Good deal on a 12 cu ft brick. The have a good selection of items for farm animals. I was in here yesterday. I read some of the other reviews. Everyone in the store were properly wearing their masks. I needed some hardware items I could not find at Home Depot and Lowes. I did find some of them (the remainder I ordered off Amazon). The employees were very helpful and nice. Prices are comparable to Home Depot and Lowes. Be aware of their return policy. I attempted to return a faulty product within 30 days and the manager refused. They only accept returns that are unused, unworn, and in perfectly unopened packaging. If the product is faulty, it is up to you to work directly with the manufacturer. This is a return policy unlike any other store. Just bought a pair of shoes on clearance a week and a half ago, went on vacation and use them while biking and they basically fell apart in the strap area. We came back to return them and the employee assumed my dog ate them and when I told her I had taken them biking said "oh that's probably what happened "when asked what that meant she said "they're not meant for biking "which is ridiculous because they are like a Birkenstock type sandal that should be relatively universal. Never had a bad experience here, and look at me, I don't fit in (vegan activist, dyed hair, tattooed city girl) but everyone has always kind/offered help when I come for supplies for my chickens. They have it all, buckets, feed tubs, water fountains, and scratch. I'm quite thankful there is a place like this in city limits. They carry a multitude of great brands of feed for dogs too, and their dog collars and leashes are a fraction of the price that they are at places like big chain pet stores. And they have guns! I like guns... and gardening supplies! And grass seed in bulk! Guns, gardens, and grass. Good. Although there are things that I do not like about this store, I won't elaborate on them since they are based on my social views on animal rights. (I.E. many things here that aid in the murder,torture, and exploitation of animals. Friends not food, blah blah woof woof.) All those things do not reflect on the quality of services or goods I've experienced to this date. SO... Yes, overall...for what I need to buy within this store, I approve. The staff were always more than helpful and accommodating. The knowledge of firearms they have and the ability to portray the pros and cons of each weapon with your budget was amazing. Stay away from this shady store. Cashier was asked multiple times if she rang up my coupon correct and I was told "well yes". I get my receipt and she had not taken the correct amount off.Well she was lost as how to fix it so she had a five minute discussion with what I assume was the manager on how to fix it.Well he comes over and trys to fix it.I asked if refunding the amount back to my card then re-ringing it up would help? DONT SHOP HERE!!!! Rude employees making fun of customers as they enter and leave the store! Very rude to you if you ask a question or try to return an item. It must be entirely family run because I don't know how they would get away with treating people like that! Even before my purchase I realized this and should have never continued with my purchase. Purchased a 450 $$$ saw with warranty. Paid and they brought it out to parking lot to show me it worked. It looked used and I questioned them and they assured me it was new. They tried to start it for 20 minutes and it wouldn't start. It was leaking oil all over the ground as well. I requested that they give me a different saw and they refused saying they don't take back saws!!! They went inside and supposedly fixed it and came back out 30 minutes later. It was running but not good at all. I took saw home and GUESS WHAT. It ran like junk, was leaking oil, bogging down, and had NO POWER, it would not even cut. I took it back to store which is a 3 hour round trip in a car and 40 dollars in gas. They told me there is nothing wrong with it and acted like they adjusted the idle. Mind you I have lived in the mountains for YEARS and YEARS and have been using chainsaws my entire life. I have never gotten a worse saw than this junk. Clearly there was something seriously wrong with it. I took it home once again got home, same thing. Saw was not cutting, bogging down, had absolutely NO power, leaking oil, etc. Went back to store AGAIN and once again he told me there is nothing wrong with it!!! Also stated they didn't want to file a claim with stihl because it was difficult. So they new there was something wrong with it , they just didn't want to pay to fix it! I finally talked to saw company who in turn talked to big r and they finally agreed to refund my money. Went back to store AGAIN and they treated me SOO badly. Cashier tells me she wont give me a refund unless I provide the debit card I used for original purchase. I told her she will give me my money back no matter what. So she says well we can mail you a check! So I find the debit card and the supposedly issue me a refund back to my card. GUESS WHAT??? Till today and I have still not received my refund to my card!!!!!! So they got there money and got the saw back. So they stole 450$$$ from me. If I do not receive it soon I will be forced to file a civil suit against the owners for ALL my time and money involved. I will post an update as to what happens with the refund!! I know a lot of people have had horrible experiences with this rude, horrible company. I wish they would post so others know not to shop at these stores!! DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!! Today I purchased a XL igloo dog house the gentleman named Luke came overight and asked if he could help me without me asking he gave me alot of knowledge about the house and also took it down from the very top shelf so I could look at it closely . I did purchase the dog house and I told him not sure it would fit in my car he hauled it out to the car on a Cart to see well it didn't fit I told him that I would have to come back with my truck and he said when I get back have them page him and he would load it for me when I returned I came back about an hour and he came over as he remembered who I was when I walked he he went and got the house for me and loaded it this young man was very nice and professional I forgot to mention he also helped me find the dog doors I would just like to say thank you it mentioned alot to have great customer service thank you Luke Big R is blessed to have a great employee like you read more
