Our daughter found this BBQ and wanted to try it out. We drove up & it's not fancy but the smell of delicious BBQ hit us as we got out of the car so we knew it was promising! We pored over the menu and I decided on a sausage sandwich with Mac 'n Cheese. You order at the counter and food is brought out. The rustic interior was clean and we easily found a table. It wasn't too long before we all received our meals. We all agreed this was great BBQ! My sausage had a bit of heat but it was tasty! The Mac 'n Cheese was rich & savory. We loved the BBQ sauce. Our grandson claimed his chicken strips & fries were the best he ever had & this kid does not lie! Everything was so good! As we were leaving I spoke to one of the owners to let him know we really enjoyed the BBQ & asked if I could take a photo. He said Tracy was in the back & I asked if she could also pose for a snapshot. They sweetly obliged me. I told him we were from CA but hubby's parents used to live in Canyon Lake. They gave me some free stickers to share. Great BBQ, friendly staff, and welcoming owners! What's not to love?

The counter and floor staff were cheerful, quick, and accommodating the whole time. They're the reason I'd consider coming back. The problem was the manager. He approached us, said pets weren't allowed, and told us we'd have to leave. I told him my dog is a service animal, and he scoffed. When I explained she's trained in deep pressure therapy, he said that "doesn't count." It does. Deep pressure therapy is a recognized trained task under the ADA, and staff may only ask whether the dog is required because of a disability and what task she's trained to perform. He seemed unfamiliar with it, and he kept badgering me until I gave him a medical condition, which he had no right to ask for. After we got our food, he approached us at the drink station. My service dog is a mini pinscher, and my friend was holding her because my hands were full. He said she had to stay on the floor the entire time and couldn't be held or touch a seat. A self-serve drink refill station is a customer area, not a food preparation area, and Texas rules allow service animals outside of food prep areas. He told us there would be "no more warnings," then sat nearby and watched us for a while to make sure she stayed on the floor. My dog was calm and under control the entire time. It felt intimidating, and nothing he told us matches the ADA or the Texas food establishment rules for service animals. I'd encourage the owner to make sure managers know the basics of service animal law. The staff clearly knew how to make guests feel welcome, and one manager nearly soured an otherwise great experience.
